Welcome to our eighth and final episode on the Timeline of Elden Ring - the Shattering & the return of Grace to the Tarnished right up to the present day. A thorough Lore video covering the the Second Defence of Leyndell by Morgott, Godrick losing to Radahn and Malenia, the Battle of Aeonia, and the various Tarnished stories. The Two Fingers new role, Godrick's grafting, the Roundtable Hold and much more.. There is of course lots of uncertainty and speculation, as with any attempt to make an Elden Ring timeline, so this is all just our own theory!

The final episode! We hope you enjoyed the timeline series, and it helped to organise your own thoughts. Despite all the uncertainty, we feel proud of the piece of work that aimed to include as much as we possibly could from the entire history of the Lands Between. I think when he fled the Capitol, one of the things Godrick stole was a piece of Godwyn's body, possibly to graft to himself. He placed it in the basement of Stormveil where it took root and infected the whole castle.

@@josiahcmillerGiven he waits 'til hallway through our fight to graft the minor modem dragon out of reverence for it being a "trueborn heir" I expect he didn't feel worthy initially? Alternatively perhaps it was lost below the castle and Godrick's soldiers couldn't retrieve it due to the tree spirit? There's a lot of corpses down there.

This entire series was an absolutely fantastic piece of work. I understand that this series didn't get as many views as your other videos but don't let that discourage you. This felt like a series that needed to be made "at some point" and I'm sure people will be watching it and referring back to it in the future. Overall this was highly enjoyable and thank you for putting the weight of this project on your shoulders. (and the editors!) 3/10 would highly recommend lol.

That ending gave me chills. Excellent finale to a great deep dive of the lore. Thank you for laying out such an excellent buffet on the lead up to SOTE (just under 12 hours away as of writing this). I'm even more excited now to see what FromSoft has in store for us all.

A few points I disagree with: I don't think the surcoats of those soldiers are meant to be radahn's colours, its more likely that the dark filter over the scene makes the orange of the tree-and-beast heraldry appear darker, it also makes the helm of the soldier appear red so its makes more sense that this is a scene of the first defense (the attack led by Godefroy), before the banishing of the eternal city district which would also mean its before it was revealed/discovered who the culprits of the Night of the Black Knives were. Godrick was probably hounded from the capital after Godefroy was captured and possibly ratted Godrick out as being in on the assault and/or possibly other conspiracies, we don't know. Radahn's assault on Leyndell is only depicted in the game's intro and sword monuments, where Morgott is forced to confront Radahn in the guise of Margit, probably getting the jump on him (literally), the general not yet grown to his fully monstrous size though still a very big individual similar in size to the royal omen. After that defeat he probably goes to Caelid to build up his forces and his own personal strength, probably channeling his great rune to grow quite literally in strength and power... I don't believe Radahn ever assaulted Stormveil, simply passed it by while Godrick hid within the walls, Radahn likely wouldn't even consider him worth the bother. The damage to Stormveil doesn't look like any other kind of magical or siege weapon damage we see anywhere else in the game, the thorn-filled sores and scars pockmarking the castle are far too organic looking and are more akin to some kind of curse or rot unique to the location, likely related to the hollow visage of godwyn in the depths.

Well what if Godrick’s soldiers were seen wearing Redmane colors because some of his soldiers betrayed him? Maybe that’s why only exile soldiers are stationed in Stormveil Castle. Godrick no longer trusts his own men and has hired mercenaries instead

I dont think radahn is responsible for the damage done to stormveil. Tarnished archaeologist has a great video that interprets the holes and thorns as being some combination of the Briars of Sin and Godwyn’s Deathroot.

Nahhh i gotta say in a true 1v1 Radhan canonically would WIPE THE FLOOR with Malenia. You have to think about 1. This man is LITERALLY HOLDING THE STARS STILL 2. Her knights attacked him first 3. It was only a stalemate bc she used her last resort and literally nuked the whole province lmao and 4. Since she marched towards him so she had the element of surprise 5. While yes malenia “recovered” she sat in her root room since the fight while the redmanes literally held a festival trying to kill radhan and still no one could do it 💀

21:05 I believe Radahn has stopped stars from moving, so the eclipse Miquella was waiting became unachievable. He already turned into slumber, and, remembering the plan, Malenia has concluded, that she can make everything right like The Blade of Miquella. Though, her pride never won the war, and here we find them - lost, broken, and delusional. Malenia believed she was around Miqella in that sacred room of roots, that she won. And Radahn just… lost his soul to the scarlet rot.

the cutscene story trailer attack on leyndell is absolutely the firs tone with godefory/godricks forces also the only evidence for who the attack was in the second invasion is a flag with a black bird, which i dont think appears anywhere else in the game, but apparently is an early version of rykards faction, before he dropped the erdtree likely the lack of any context beyond that single image in the opening slideshow for an alleged margit / radahn fight(even tho the armor isnt a match for radahns shattering armor or his starscourge armor)

I think Miquella probably sent Malenia out at the same time he went to the Land of Shadow, and Malenia is waiting for him to return from there, rather than waiting for him to come back from Mohg. I think this makes Malenia leaving him 'vulnerable', which seems like an unusual thing for her to do, make more sense. Then, Malenia killing Radahn to make the eclipse possible also lines up better, since an eclipse would put the Lands Between in _shadow,_ creating some parallel with the Land of Shadow. In that way, whatever change Miquella was trying to bring about would be able to take effect. As for precisely what he wanted with Godwyn and why, hopefully we'll see tomorrow

Wait a sec, what is Malenia marched into Caelod to fight Radahn for the same reason we need to to enter the dlc, ie to set Miquella’s fate free? What if she wakes up and dies by our hand, thinking she succeeded and beat him and that’s why she’s waiting for Miquella to return, when in reality, she failed? And we didn’t even get to tell her before we put her in the ground. Edit: he actually makes this point at 22:01

We started this project a long time before any dates were confirmed for the DLC, and didn't want it to end up in Limbo. Just had some delays which is why it's so close to release. Hopefully it will serve as a good snapshot of where we stood before all the new revelations!

While i do love the effort in these videos I have to say that they are way too long. It feels like you have to go so far out to get to the point that its almost impossible to remember anything that was said from the start. Just my opinion tho, and its very subjective.

Ive spent all day putting my summon sign outside the Mohg boss room. NO MAN LEFT BEHIND WHEN THE DLC DROPS Its gotten to the point where I've bled mohg enough times to flood the lands between down to deepeoot with Mohg's spicy juice
