It's HILARIOUS seeing you trying to play this off as "playing down to the competition". You missed the. Phoenix game and the Sixers games. But, you are right. I said before the season that the "Harden rules" would affect Steph the most and it has played out that way.
@@Pyronek possibly but I don't like games like depwoken and rouge lineage and I don't have my PC cus it broke too test it out myself and I don't find watching yt vids on it enjoyable
It's not a bad season, only a bad game. Nothing to worry about. Maybe it is caused by chasing and breaking records and along with media heavy attention remember elite shooters like steph (and klay) may stumble at some point but theyre like volcano that could erupt ANYTIME remember when klay shocked us with 37pt? He was actually struggling that time! And in the 3rd he erupted!
It’s more than a bad game, it’s been a stretch of about 15 games since the first Phoenix game. He’s had about 3 games up to his standard, but several games where he’s making 10-39% of his distance shots. Hopefully, Klay’s return tomorrow will help alleviate some of the scoring burden and let Steph get back to his level of efficiency.
It's most likely the rotation, Curry has more resting time and the warrior has a deeper bench, he gets on and off the court before he could even get an actual rhythm
The frustration I have more than anything is the sloppy turnovers and passing up the easy 2’s for outside shots when they aren’t falling. Also, I feel like guys such as Ja or Luka that drive to the basket have mastered drawing contact and getting to the line THIS YEAR. Steph doesn’t get to the line with the same consistency and I’m not quite sure why referees don’t give him that same treatment. These are just comments based on feeling and not numbers. I watch like every game.
He’s been lifting too many weights.. skinny Curry was the best version of himself.. Now he’s benching 200 jacking up nothing but bricks lol but it’s his body leave the weights alone he’ll be back
Yet another night shooting 2-9 from 3. Curry now is at 38% from 3 that insanely bad. He normally shot 43-44% from 3 and his overall FG% is at 42 and his career average FG% is 47 so he is shooting worse from the field then he normally does from 3 🥵😵💫 this started when the 3 point record came about since then its just been down hill fast. The Warriors came out hot and was like 20-3 after 23 game or something like that but since then they lost almost every other gane because of Steph bad shooting and he was way in front in the mvp race he should just have played up to his average the rest of the way and the mvp would have been his but now it way gone and he would have to play out if his mind to get it back
Even in his Unanimous MVP season, he went through a really bad slump like this. He even shot worse when wide open. He just has to carry less weight mentally, but that’s easier said than done. Klay and Wiseman *should* help this.
It could be Kerr's rotations. He use to play the whole 1rst and 3rd quarters. Now he has breaks in all quarters. Curry has always been a player who needed to find his rhythm. Curry even said the new rotations made it hard to get in rhythm.
@@volume_02 But let me guess, faith of the universe on the line or the martians have the death beam pointed at earth so you better hit it, you still want iguodala don't you?
@@lon3frqnci119 imagine the coach and team has their profesional staff, analyst and even IT who managed the data info. made team winning most of the game. suddenly someone just pissed bcause he watched few of lost games :(
It looks like he is training very hard to make contested shots. That explains why his open trees are not that good compared to his contested ones. He is getting double-teamed every game and when he gets open trees, he is not often in this scenario so it messes with him
Finally someone points it out. Steph my Favorite player behind D Wade and as good as he is I'm tired of all these warriors praise videos as if were perfect, no one is immune to constructive criticism. Hope he bounces back.
@Danny Culp No absolutely not. Praise is nice but I like it when people keep us level at the same time, improvements that can be made. Finally people other than warriors commenters are talking bout the subject and I'm interested. Don't want a big head
Your opening statement is misleading: in the previous possession, he had the ball STOLEN from him - that's WHY he didn't celebrate the half-court shot.
The beautiful thing is that even with his shooting slump, he's still averaging good numbers as well as carrying his team to pole position on the WC roster...I just think with the right support, he'll bounce back also I think he should be rested more often imagine carrying your team on your shoulder for two straight seasons with all the other team's players centered on you during games.
@@emmanuelenyinwa1443 yeah I believe you. with their 15-50 win loss record in his absence during the 2019-2020 season, he needs them more than they'll ever need him.
@@emmanuelenyinwa1443 even if curry doesn’t score a point. He’s responsible for generating the looks they all get. The offense is built around the gravity of Curry. He’s always contributing to team success
Wiggins is shooting great from deep this year. Although he’s not gonna shoot them at the volume that Steph (or even Klay will). If Wiggs give you about 3-4 trifectas per game, you gotta feel good about that. GP2 has also been striping it at about 40% for the season, but he’s only going to take around 2-3 attempts a game.
I just think he's not as motivated since he just broke the 3 point record. He'll be ready and more in his zone when Klay comes back and during playoff time forsure
It's not just 5 games if you've been paying attention. He's been in a slump since the start of December with 2 or 3 great shooting games here and there. He's missing wide open 3s but it doesn't stop there,he's struggling to get to the rim this season and when he does he's smoking layups. All that has added up to him having the worst shooting month of his career in December. Now,I'm not gonna overreact but maybe just maybe we're starting to see a little bit of decline in some aspects which shouldn't be surprising at all at his age.
@@christofereinfreesoul6274 you must be watching a different Steph Curry then I am because the Steph Curry I'm watching averaged 27.6 ppg in December, and 26.8 ppg this season. In the 13 seasons he's played this season is his 4th highest ppg average. Plus he is averaging the most blocks of his career. The only thing that has dropped is his 3 point percentage and that will rebound now that Klay is back and he's not constantly double teamed.
@@christofereinfreesoul6274 The lowest point total he scored in all of December was 18, that's the only game he scored less than 22 ... and he's slumping?
This goes well with my own reasoning as well, thankfully someone could see it too. Curry's slump has been a mental struggle and a physical one, when the WHOLE league always rigorously defend you like there's no tomorrow and no one else gets the same treatment, and the media focuses on his slump rather than what he has to go through, of course he is gonna be upset about it. The closest thing that comes to mind that relates to this is probably Hack'a'Shaq. He knows, and everybody knows, that if he is left open by just a few inches he would flush that shot down easily. Expectations became higher and higher every single day until everyone just thinks you're just a magician, and when you can't do your magic properly, everybody blames you instead. There is no other person that commands gravity on the court beside him. #CurryForMVP
Let me tell y’all something you already know, Steph Curry is human!! The second best player is on his team is either Wiggins or Draymond, this man gets trapped and tripled at half every single night and somehow is still leading his team to a top seed in the west because he’s become a great on ball defender and an even better distributor with not much help! When klay comes back which is TODAY soooo much space is going to open up for Steph and a shit ton of defensive schemes are gonna go over to klay and give Steph a lot more elbow room and time to relax which hasn’t had in almost 3 fucking years lmao! If you don’t think he’s still a top 2 candidate for mvp that is just absurd.. it’s like people don’t let Stephen be human anymore because we’ve become accustomed to him being an alien!! Just watch what happens when klay, and then eventually wiseman comes back! He’s gonna be right back to being the best player on earth
Thank you! It’s been driving me nuts that he’s been missing wide open shots and doing terrible in games that they should blow out the other team. Great content. Keep it coming.
@@bloatedstomach1678 Yes, just for the recent couple of games. Who knows why he was off during his prior slump? Rythym? Perimeter defense? Jammed finger?
As far as threes go It's called statistical variance...christ. Settle down. The 2 point % is definitely the result of the rule changes. So many other great players have the same effect.
It's the espn curse, ever since they've been chasing his record for it to b on their network! I believe Steph got caught up in the hype too tho'! This has been a reoccurring thing w/the dubs, the hype a/b the fast start they had but the suns were doing the same thing! They need to pace themselves......think marathon not sprint!
I finally find a channel I like and enjoy…. also you known for understanding and talked about…NBA 👍 I enjoyed all your videos and your great editing games 🏀 Keep it up…thanks ‼️
I think it's all connected to his 3pt career record. It all started when he was trying to get the new record. And now his every 3pt shot will be a new record. But I'm sure he will get used to it then he will get back to his normal percentage.
I think unconsciously, the record was a big driving force for him. Without that record to push for, he inadvertantly relaxes a tiny bit in his routine. He needs to reflect a bit and find his elite razor focus.
The foul calling for the Warriors this year has been horrible! They’re getting to the foul line about 50% less than the opposing teams. The bad officiating has cost them a couple games this year already
Curry has also been missing gimme layups that he makes about 80% of the time. If he’s got a nagging injury causing it, you’d think they’d have addressed it 🤷♀️
We've seen both Steph and Klay go through horrible slumps before, for whatever the reason, and then go nearly 50-40-90 the rest of the way. It happens. If this is the end of Steph then so be it but I'm personally not very worried about it right at this moment.
I have a theory that might be the case if Curry’s slump. It’s basically a reverse psychology, steph is so used to shoot contested threes but if you actually leave him wide open intentionally, he might miss shots. It’s like giving him a pressure of taking shots that should go in because of its gravity of being uncontested.
Summary of that very useful video: Steph is ok. He's gonna be fine. Surrounded by 9min of the water is wet and the fire burns. With the beautiful mandatory "The SHOCKING TRUTH!!!" In the title. What a great creative content!
It's just one of those. Klay went through a torrid 17% to start the 18-19 season and then it all clicked. I think it is just a bad stretch and he will get out of it. He is making these shots in warm up.
curry never really got calls the new rules just made him get even less calls which is crazy considering every game hes got a new scar scratch bruise that wasnt called
For ne watching curry compared to other great shooters it seems that he is actually worse when he gets to setup the shot and stabilise himself because he has gotten do used to off balance quick release shots in game that having time plays with him so when hes wide open he misses more then when doubled but the best shot is a single decent contest off a moving shot so that there isn't too much defense on him but he still has to get it off quick rather then getting time to shoot which he is less used to in games
Steph Curry is just plain tired. They also need to give him some days off like other veterans. Now that we have Thompson back and Poole is playing like a star. It's time to accept that Curry is a human not a machine. We need him more during the playoff. Cut his playing time🤔and give him some rest during the game.
I think with all the extra attention he's getting this season with all the triple teams and double teams he's seeing and fighting thru screens just to get open is probably mentally frustrating him..that along with all the turnovers that he commits in result of said double teams..they're playing from behind alot too and sometimes shots just don't drop but I think it's 100% a.mental thing and that he's going to SNAP how we know he can in due time.. like in March, May, June 😎
Shadaaaap... Steph plays D..?? Lmfao... rebounds are a form of D... on both sides of the floor... i.e. second & third chance points off... you guess... he gets 5 or 6 of either variety everytime he plays... slump, no slump... makes no diff... Klay & Kuminga are back... Steph is literally now the least of all worries... most complete team 1-15 in The NBA... bar none...
2 things: 1. Fatigue 2. Changes to rotation 1. He carried the warriors last year to be on pace as 4th seed and missed 9 games ONLY bc of injury. After that, instead of relaxing and recovering during off-season he TRAINED EVEN HARDER. Then this season he has BARELY missed any games still averages 28, shoots more threes and STILL makes the same amount as last season, while STILL being double teamed 2. Someone here brought up a great point. Curry is not playing the whole 1st/3rd qts.. that's crazy bc he needs time to find his rhythm. Everytime he starts heating up he has to leave. On the games where he dropped the most points he averages more minutes in the 3rd qt
It’s really only been the last few games, but the thing that’s bothering me is how he continues to take heat check shots when he’s missing. Clearly he feels the pressure of being the focal point of the offense, but there are times he needs to be content with being a decoy. The offense is good enough to adjust without him forcing contested shots.
Why the elevator music? It's bad man, really bad. Enough to pretty much keep me from watching more than 2 minutes. Are you not confident in your actual content?
His inside game is declining. He was never super fast, but he's reached an age where guards do typically slow a step, and creating less separation in the paint will always degrade your numbers. I think he and his surrounding coaches/trainers have accounted for this well though by bulking up. It hasn't really helped his offense, but it has improved his defensive stats slightly, and if you watch GSW defensive tape, he's more actively involved in action than he has been in a few years... other than just engaging in pre-switches to avoid being the on-ball defender.
Honestly, the refs are allowing players to hit Steph, hold his forearms to prevent cutting, and hip check. That’s causing increased fatigue and frustration. He’s so pissed about the no calls that he’s missing the wide open ones. And with the persistent contact he’s so fatigued he isn’t able to finish the lay ups. He needs to clear his head and forget about the no calls. This “slump” started after the game where he got hammered on a lay up and received a tech for telling the ref it was a foul using an expletive Since then the refs aren’t calling games according to the NBA rules for the warriors. There was a recent game where Jordan pool was held and pushed by a defender sending him into another player and they called him for an offensive foul. In the Mavs game, Wiggins was literally held by the forearm so he couldn’t get to the ball for an open lay up but instead of calling the foul, ref left it as a turnover. It was directly in front of the ref who called the turnover Sunday there was Klay’s clean block that they called a foul. The team as a whole hasn’t played good offense during December. They have a couple nights where Otter Porter or Jordan Pool scores big, but for the most part they’ve been playing scrappy to get points. And it’s because of all of these no calls. They are so fixated on the problem, they are letting it get to their heads My suggestion is the increase the pace and return to the old warriors offense when they ran actions on both sides of the court as a part of a bigger play. Hopefully current personnel can handle that.
Honestly I’m not the best shooter but I have noticed that I shoot much better when it’s more urgent. Like a defender close by for example. But when I am wide open I always seems to be short. I analyzed it for a while and realized that when I’m relaxed and have time I don’t get my legs into the shot as much or my shot isn’t a single motion like it should be or as smooth. Whenever I’m wide open or just shooting around I have to conciously remind myself to put more legs into my shot all the time. And if I forget then I usually miss. When I’m coming off the dribble or catching and shooting with a defender nearby it feels much smoother I guess because my body naturally does it without me thinking about it. I noticed quite a few of his missed shots in the video were hitting the front of the rim. It could be something similar to what I’ve experienced.
Hmm .everyone is wondering why this shooting slump ... well even in this slump, u can see defenders guarding 1 on 1 starting from the starting lane; he has to run around too much than any other players to get open and shoot; plus as he has been a hot topic, his moves hav been studied in detail by everyone - sometimes its really hard if the defender knows evry move of urs...so i think he is just emotionally drained a bit .. but i'm sure he will overcome this in a matter of time . plus i think unknowingly he wants his teammates to step up a notch ..as tat sure is a necessity if they wanna get a chip
All this just means Curry is going to go on an absolute ridiculous tear at some point, because there's no way he finishes the season under 40% in threes, this will all have to average out over time, so watch out.
i get it it happens to me where when your wide open your less confident bc in your head like “if i miss this wide open it’s completely on me” where as if im being guarded and i take it i have the excuse that im being guarded closely so im not as afraid.
For someone like him it probably weighs less in the ego to miss the wide open shot on his own terms than to miss the contested shot that he's known for splashing people with all the time. He's decided that Klay needs to catch-up or Vegas asked him to chill out.
Thats exactly why its cause hes playing on the level of his opponents this season every season before this one he was playing his skill now hes toned it down a bit and not bein an assassin like usual he needs to go back to his assassin mind set and we good bro plus we got new shot creaters like Jordan poole he can create his own shot klay hes not new but why I say hes new is cause now he can create his own shots he used to just catch and shoot
