I cant thank you enough for sharing this video I bought a pair of shoes they were $100 and I didn't realize until I got home that they were two different colors because they were the last pair and one of the shoes was a display shoe they have been cleaned so much that it was so much lighter than the other one I was so upset because I really love these shoes and I searched all on the internet to try to find ways to clean them and none of them said anything about using steam but thanks to you I have restored my shoes and now they both look the same again thank you so much for this Secret it really worked!
Thank you! I got a dark brown pair of suede chukkas and immediately matter them much lighter by using a suede brush. The steam technique restored then to the dark brown color I wanted.
Does the steam from the iron help with bald suede at all? I've got some suede trainers that look all leathery at the back so I don't know what to do with them
Hi Justin, I've had a pair of Suede boots for about a year now, the suede has gone shiny just on the toe, any idea how to fix that? It's gone a little hard as well
@@acasto03 I stay away from most suede for this reason, however I suspect its as much a quality issue as anything. Pricier footwear will probably have higher grade suede. Thus more durable and probably makes it easier to restore IF kept properly. I have Crockett Jones handgrade suede shoes and trickers boots. Let me tell you the difference in $100 leather boots and $500 leather is remarkable. I can't compare suede precisely because I avoid cheaper shoes with it but mine are holding up v well. Would be interesting to hear a cobbler's take of course...
I certainly would have used Saphir Médaille d'Or Omni'Nettoyant on the suede and used Renovateur spray in a matching color after the shoes dried overnight. Super Invulner the next day would really waterproof and protect the suede.
When you use a brush on the edges after using color to restore the edges, does that brushing transfer any color to the suede? Do you have to mask it off before brushing?
How do I return the color of my tan suede shoes? Also how do I removed creases? I saw your video for the leather version but I also wanna remove the creases from my suede shoes. Thanks for the video
Many thanks. Very helpful. I have small holes in the nap of the suede. At the toe where I think I kicked open a door foolishly. Is there any kind of spray fibre that one can get to fill in those small surface holes in the nap please? Suede dye doesn't sort it.
A steam iron sure does. A heat gun can be found at any hardware store. Household product in the sense you can easily obtain them. And if you dont have steam iron then just boil water and a hair dryer can substitute
Hello! I have been looking for months on how to get the creases out of designer shoes.. and straighten the straps on women’s heels etc.. can you tell me what heat gun you use?
Awesome! Thank you so much for responding. I know it is probably really important to buy the right he can’t when you’re using it on shoes. And I love the videos you are teaching me a lot
Evening Got a pair of suede trainers in the same condition (stubbornly attempting to restore them because although the trainers were in new condition when I left them my pissy little cousin seems to have worn them, almost reducing them to waste!? 😱) anyhow I’m thinking about gently sanding them and then applying a homemade solution of Hot water, washing up liquid and popular brand body oil, that’s been shook together and applied with a toothbrush... Any questions or reservations you could share with us?
Sorry about the state they are in. To be honest I have never made a home remedy solution like you just described so in reality I would be curious to hear how they turn out oafter such treatment.
Ok so I'm skipping the homemade concoction and going for a popular brand suede restorer instead, What i need from this suede restorer is to rejuvenate worn suede back to it's former glory! Any suggestions?
@@TECsta76 saphir is a good one. A suede spray will be required too potentially to help give color back. Overall Saphir is a highly recommended brand. Best of luck
As Justin is not replying to my request, is there any body else able to tell me which brand or make this shoe is please ? Thank you beforehand. Charles
Hi Charles - I'm fairly certain those are from Justins own line JFitzPatrick Footwear. Justin runs 2 companies and is active/helps organizes a lot of shoe industry events (Trunk Shoes etc) between Europe and US is my understanding so no surprise he has not been able to comment 👍🏼 us.jfitzpatrickfootwear.com Thanks
Christian Johnson Thank you so much Christian for this information. I did find the suede shoe I was looking for in the bespoke section. Hope they will deliver to Belgium as I do not often go to the 🇺🇸 anymore these days. Best regards Charles
A 2000 grit paper is too fine, I’d argue that 1200 is too fine as well. Those grits are good for working out things on smooth leather but suede needs a bit courser to lift up any smooth spots.
It didn’t work, but the stains were really strong and old. So, after trying everything I finally dyed the shoes with burgundy and brown leather dye, a bit darker than the shoes you have here. And it looks good, only that the dye stained my pants a bit 🙄..... experiences
@@up3371 yea this is not a 100% fix for every case. This video is meant for sprucing up your suede. It wont take out black stains or dark ones on light suede. Glad that you managed to fix the issue though. After dyeing you have to let dry for at least a day or two.
Ummm, actually no. But thanks for chiming in. You probably do not realize this but sandpaper has many different grit lengths and the 2500 doesnt destory suede. But yeah, I doubt you knew that
@@theshoesnob_official I understand that, I'm not silly. The finish of the front of those shoes esp the one sandpapered is way way worse than it was before. Basically ruined the suede finish.
