I’m just going to bring up something on repair costs, they’re too high for someone with non premium. I have premium so I can make do but for a couple of my friends they need to be toned down. Another request is GE sales so people can get premium because it is a much better experience.

Yall need to do something about this daily reward program. I log in daily, less than 24 hours since my last login and i can never get a chain going! Sometimes I fall asleep with my laptop on and with the game running, only to restart the game and get set back to day 1 :(

Aerospace Engineer here. Is there anyway you guys (Gaijin) could just put the optimal climb velocity for each aircraft on their stats card? It'd make life a whole lot easier. I'm not sure how you guys have modeled it, but even if it tapers off with alt as in real life just the basic sea level optimal climb rate would be amazing since you can figure it'll drop by 5 mph IAS or so every 10k ft.

Spitfire climbing tips according to the pilot's notes (assuming WT has modeled the planes correctly, all speeds given as indicated air speed): For the Mk IIa and Mk IIb, you want to climb at 160 mph (255 km/h) up to an altitude of 13,000 ft (4000 m). (Pilots notes don't give best speed above this altitude, you'll have to eyeball it from there) For the Mk Vb and Mk Vc (not the trops), you want to climb at 170 mph (272 km/h) up to an altitude of 10,000 ft (3075 m), then 160 mph (255 km/h) up to 16,000 ft (4925 m), 150 mph (240 km/h) up to 21,000 ft (6460 m), and 140 mph (224 mph) to 26,000 ft (8000 m). (Pilot's notes go above 37,000 ft, but you're not likely to go that high). For the Mk IX (F and LF), climb at 160 mph (255 km/h) up to an altitude of 26,000 ft (8000 m), then at 150 mph (240 km/h) up to 30,000 ft (9230 m), at 140 mph (224 mph) up to 33,000 ft (10,150 m), and 130 mph (208 km/h) up to 37,000 ft (11,380 m). (The notes go above 40,000 ft, but who do you expect to find up there?) I would assume that the Mk XVI we have in game is the same as the Mk IXs even though it has clipped wings. The pilots notes make reference to the clipped wings with regards to stall speeds and landing speeds, but there's nothing under the section for climbing. I would also mention that, according to the notes, the maximum safe diving speed (not rip speed, that should be much higher) for the Mk IX is given in the notes as corresponding to Mach 0.85, which roughly equates to 450 mph (720 km/h) below 20,000 ft (6150 m), 430 mph (688 km/h) between that and 25,000 ft (7690 m), and 390 mph (624 km/h) from there up to 30,000 ft (9230 m). Have fun testing that!

Finding the optimal climb speed for each aircraft is a bit trickier than just flying at 280 km/h IAS, although I will admit that will get decent results in most aircraft. Further, it should be realized that there is a specific airspeed for best angle of climb (allowing you to climb highest in the least amount of horizontal travel), and airspeed for best climb rate. These are usually called Vx and Vy, respectively. Vx is always slower than Vy, but in some circumstances it can be useful to be able to shoot up at the steepest possible angle for a sustained climb. Even further it needs to be realized that aircraft weight has a big impact on the V-speeds. This is because it's not actually airspeed that really matters, it's more related to the angle of attack required to stay airborne at different airspeeds. Any wing has a specific optimal angle of attack for different things (best lift/drag ratio, highest amount of lift produced, minimum total drag, etc.). If an aircraft is heavy, it needs more lift to match its weight. There are two ways to increase lift on an aircraft: You either increase the angle of attack, or you increase the airspeed. But if you require a specific AoA for best performance, then changing it will reduce performance. So, that means the optimal airspeed changes. However, as long as you're close enough to the optimal climb speed, your climb performance doesn't really change all that much. Because of this, I find it preferable to err on the side of higher airspeed, which allows you to have better airflow for engine cooling, as well as slightly more kinetic energy to use for maneuvering if you get surprised during the climb. In very simplified terms, the heavier the aircraft is, the higher its V-speeds will be. A fully loaded aircraft will have a slightly higher optimal climb airspeed than a lightly loaded aircraft. Same applies to optimal glide distance speed (which is usually somewhere between Vx and Vy) - a heavier aircraft will need to maintain higher airspeed to reach the optimal glide distance. Interestingly, the actual glide distance doesn't really change between a fully loaded aircraft and one with empty fuel tanks - assuming there's no aerodynamic damage to the aircraft. They just fly the same glide path at different airspeed. Of course, this all mainly applies to sustained climbing. Zoom climbs are a different beast altogether.

Can you tell the difference between nose mounted guns and wing mounted ones? Along with their effective range?

Hi Bruce. Would you ever put an artillery branch for there is so many of those machines?. I think you could use them to fire at grid coordinates under players artillery calls.

Can you do an episode on experimental planes such as: Horten 229, komet/me163, or the mistle/He 162?

Will there be an option to choose the bomb release order for bombers that have more than one type of bombs loaded? It would be convenient not to release a double 1 ton bomb from under the wings, when you have similar or smaller bombs in the bay that can be released one by one. Or just separate the wing mounted bombs from those in the bomb bay.

Climbing is a real issue in air RB and so easy to fix. It is unbelievably boring to climb for 4-7 minutes at the start of each game doing nothing. And if you die early you get no action and can go back to climbing for another 5 mins. The amount of time wasted every game having to climb for 5 minutes or so is not really right. Not everyone has 8 hours to play this game, and we want to enjoy the fights, not spend most of our time online climbing (just to get dived on by an XP-50)! This discourages so many people from climbing/fully climbing, which ruins the game for everyone on their team (as that guy is certain to die at low altitude), and leaves less people for the high altitude players to fight! Now my solution to this problem is simple: Give every plane an airspawn, but at different altitudes, depending on their climbrate. For example planes with high climbrates like the Hornet, XP-50 and Spitfires would spawn at like 5000m and much closer to the front line, whilst planes with low climbrates like the P-47, P-51 and P-39 would spawn at like 2500m a bit further from the front lines. Bombers, Interceptors and planes with airspawns currently could still spawn quite high despite a low climbrate, and airspawn altitudes for planes could be changed to balance them out. There is literally no disadvantage to doing this. It just saves everyone the first 4 minutes of climbing, planes would begin where they would be after 4 minutes of climbing in the current version of the game. The balance of the game would not be affected in any way, it would just save everyone countless hours of their life and make air RB so much more enjoyable - A higher proportion of our time would be spent in dogfights having fun rather than climbing mindlessly.

Question:My computer has lithuanian and english keybord ,in game when i am driving a tank it shows lithuanian letters and not numbers in utility boxes(ammo type,crew replenishment,etc.)How do i make it to show numbers,becuse i can't find any option to change that? Hey Gaijin, War Thunder since the latest update has been saying "Video Driver Hung". Black screens appear constantly (in 10-20 second intervals of gameplay) and the game freezes for 3 seconds with a said black screen then it goes back to regular the textures is reset, and graphic and texture quality is reduced to low settings and if it does it enough times the game crashes. I can be just looking around the hanger or in a battle and the issues will appear getting me killed without me knowing till it unfreezes. The video driver crashes during gameplay where, 1. It resets the driver and changes textures to medium preset. (always) 2. Crashes the game completely. (rare) 3. Minimizes the game and then crashes. (new) I can't even enjoy the game now because it happens so frequently now and it only seems to be getting worse. When it doesn't happen I'm lucky to even get into a battle before it starts then I get killed cause of the freezes and lag it causes. I can even look at vehicles in the hanger without it pausing to reset graphics to low settings every 10 to 15 seconds. My game has even crashed during a battle, during loading, just setting in the hanger, and while trying to exit the game. I have no issues with other games on my laptop. I thought I could play the game ok in the Work-In-Progress version but this quickly proven to be wrong as the issue still happens. I have tried everything I have seen about this issue on forums and nothing helps. It only War Thunder, other games play alright. I can't even enjoy the game at all at this point.

When the event to obtain the Maus will be going on. Because in the post announcing it's removal from the ordinary tech-tree it says: " Maus will become a rare event collectable vehicle. the problem with fighter jets is when you are in yak 15 , mig 9 and il-28 (giving a 7.7 br)and you have to face teams with gided misssile jets, you're not only outmatched in boom and zooming but range.

Are the repair costs ever going down? I generally get placed on the top third of the charts in each match and still lose lions at the end of a few matches.
