This is one of the best movies of all time. Not just the love story, but all that is around it. And my favourite moment is when Stewart reads to her the letter from her pen pal (we know it is Stewart himself) describing Stewart in the restaurant as an handsome man....his look is so amusing...and Sullavan is great!!!

Just watched that scene...a delight! But my favorite scene, one of the two tear jerkers for me, is when Matuschek and Rudy go off to eat, chills every time. And I laughed like the Dickens when Matuschek cajoled by Kitona in the hospital, made him a clerk. Frank Morgan steals every scene he's in. A national treasure. (the other tear jerker was the suicide scene)

Great movie. Like the best comedies it comes out of the stories, struggles and even heartbreaks of real life.

Supposedly, but You've Got Mail goes more in the direction of Jane Austen' Pride and Prejudice.

Fantastic film. And I love this trailer! So charming and different from what we're used to see now. I like that you get to see Lubitsch (such a great director).

Many thanks, been searching for "can a relationship work after cheating?" for a while now, and I think this has helped. Have you ever come across - Rabblecca Prefatory Recognition - (search on google ) ? It is a great exclusive product for discovering how to save your marriage without the headache. Ive heard some decent things about it and my cousin got amazing success with it.

It was based on the Hungarian theatrical play „Illatszertár” ("Perfume Shop"). A Hungarian tv adaptation of the story was made in the late 80's.

Jimmy Stewart was so well rounded . Very few in his class. Adept at comedy great at drama few had his range. Jack Lemmon certainly did Walter Matthau. Sad this class is gone. . Truly gifted

Such a heartwarming movie. 1940s did the enemies to lover trope better than any movie can in contemporary cinema. And it wasn't even about the trope. So much going on in the movie but the best part is how everyone talks to each other, even expression of anger and rebuttal is so elegant. Klara is so funny, her excuse for being passive agressive is reading a recent french novel where the woman wins over the guy by treating him like a dog...."instead of licking, you barked". The humour is exquisite. Klara feels like a 40s but also a modern woman with original thoughts and confused "psycholgical make-up" and James Stewart loves her for it.

I very much like this movie, in spite of the fact that I really do not like the leading female character. Even after she "comes around", I still don't like her. But it's still a charming movie and well played. I especially enjoy the Pepe and Rudy characters.
