I felt as if I was listening to Father Christmas tell his story.! You, sir, embody a love for being human and show why God is known through the Word. Happy Christmas!
Well said sir! More and more l find myself swimming in the waters of past years, trying to evade the modern monstrosities that are trying to remove the magic, meaning, and mystery of life. Malcolm is a stalwart gatekeeper of such treasures.
Thank you. Chesterton always feels to me like an ENORMOUS personality with whom one climbs into a car for a long drive, unsure about what will blow past one's ears- the external whipping of the world, or the internal.
Read with the elegance and clarity of a master. Thank you Mr Guite. Your book collection is a treasure box of knowledge and to be able to be so cozy and comfortable among all your books is the definition of paradise.
I too grew up poor, my best toy as a child was a broomstick that had the broom sawed off after broom had been used to where it was not able to broom anything. That stick was sometimes a spaceship flying through space. Other times it was a submerine being chased by the Soviets. This was the sixties. I have not tought of this toy in years.
Wonderful! What a great tale to settle down to listen to on Christmas Eve with a mince pie and a glass of something cheering. A blessed Christmas to you and thank you for all your gifts from the library this year which have given us so many moments of delight to help us through this dark year. To everyone peace and joy this Christmas.
Excellently read, Malcolm! British viewers of this will remember the BBC children's programme 'Jackanory', where a guest celebrity would read a book over a week. You would have been great on that, since you put a certain umph in your reading! Have a happy Christmas, and let's hope these dark times will be over soon. God bless.
Malcolm , I extend my thanks in a deep sense of gratitude for your efforts here sir' ! For me , this kind offering done here by you is the taking of your time to do so and your desire to share with others ! Aspects of which are mirrored in the spirit of the holiday season and the love of Christ ! I do a bit of writing myself sir , it is a shame that the option of personal messaging here on you tube no longer exists . I will do a bit of research on Chesterton sir' ! Thank you again and `Happy Holiday's ' to you and all those who you hold dear ! Sincerely , TheFlameTop
I picked up a Minerva edition of Fancies Versus Fads in Canturbury two summers ago! It’s a magnificently beautiful book. And GKC is the perfect Christmas read! I taught on Advent as Paradox this morning and employed the poets and the maniac. Cheers and Merry Christmas!
I remember proofreading some of Betjeman's work for an online publisher, i think it was 'on diversity'. He's incredibly witty and very observant - quite similar to dickens - i will have to keep a lookout for a few of his books ... Have a great Christmas Malcolm, and here's to a much better New Year🍸🙏🏻 - Shaun
