I like how you can disagree and give good arguments to your viewpoints, I think many duo channels just skip games they don't agree on, and that's a shame. Not every game is for everybody and hearing the different sides really help us viewers to determine if we would like the game or not.

Refreshing to see a reviewer who just doesnt say buy it. Subscribed for the honest review.

Another great video with excellent analysis. I watch your videos even for games in which I have no interest just to see the humorous interaction. You guys are a riot.

excellent 'comparison of opinions' review, and a good reminder that we like different games

I enjoyed this video so much, that for how many times I rewinded it 10 seconds back I could have watched it twice. 😃 So many funny moments! Your interaction is what makes it such a great review, besides all the other brilliant things you do. 🙂

Great video. It is nice to see some opposite points of view with a lot of solid arguments from both sides.

I’m looking into this game as a non war gamer to play with my sons. Thanks for the video! It helped a lot. I am not that interested in this time of history but I think if I get into the game, I will become interested.

Guys, just found your channel awesome work on this video. Sort of related to the topic would love to here a list of best GMT games. My personal favorites are : Versailles 1919 and 1989 Dawn of Freedom.

Difference between a tie and a draw? Often they are the same, though it is different in cricket (the sport). In that game if they run out of time to reach a result, then the game is a draw (similar to a 'no result'). However if the last wicket falls with the teams on exactly the same total of runs, then it's a tie. That's incredibly rare, but has happened on a couple of occasions at the highest 'test match' level.

Thanks for taking the time to explain. And also watch the video ;)

The "memory game" criticism made me laugh. The game rewards you for learning the ins and outs of the system AND you're expected to remember what you learned? Perish the thought. Also, imagine harping on bad luck when one of your favorite games is Ark Nova.

True, I explained the memory part quite poorly :D The point shouldn't have been that it gives advantage to someone, but that it's such a big part of the game which not everyone would enjoy. And totally agree that Ark Nova has luck elements to it - we also mentioned it in the Ark Nova review video. Despite that you still progress in the game each turn and can switch things up if you don't get the right cards. Here as Jānis said you can't win if you don't get good dice rolls.

The only "war games" I have currently are twilight struggle, labyrinth, and Navajo wars. I'm planning on picking up a copy of Plains Indian War or Bleeding Kansas. What are some good war games, besides the Shores of Tripoli, to get into?

Great video, it's nice to see some disagreements for a change. I think it makes your opinion and channel more trustworthy. Even tho it's sometimes wrong :D

Undaunted is a better intro to war games specially if you like deck building

I always considered Janis T. as a theme first player. So it was interesting to see that pretty much all the complaints from him seemed to be related to theme.

If you like historical flavor, your should try "Twilight Struggle" -- assuming you haven't already. It's not a war game (like the old Avalon Hill war games which I used to play quite often, many years ago), but it exudes historical flavor from every card. TS is not an introductory game, though. The Combat Commander series of WWII games (Europe, Mediterranean, and/or Pacific) was a relatively easy war game which I might consider introductory. Problem is, I think it's been out of print for quite some time, and thus difficult to find. Like TS, it's exclusively a two-player game. With all of the maps and scenarios, there is quite a bit of replayability.

You are a man after my own heart. I have both of those games and I love them both to bits. I think CC is the most cinematic wargame I have ever played and TS is in my all time top 10 board games list.

@@BoardGameHangover You should introduce Janus T. to Combat Commander to see if he's interested. Sadly, I haven't played either TS or CC in ages. It's practically impossible to find other war gamers willing to play.

I like card driven war games, but the theme of this game isn’t for me. The quality is really nice! Good art too.

7.7 on bgg. I'd put my money on dude on the right. However, non-mitigable random dice should have stayed buried along with axis & allies, it's certainly not for me lol
