Its funny Adult Swim is ok with edgy content showing all sorts of death and gore if its shown in a comedic way but pulls a show that got too real by showing traumatic things that happen IRL.
@@harryfromendsIndeed even Moral Orel also mixed in their message with comedy but it must have made the advertisers and/or the head of Adult Swim at the time uncomfortable.
They asked for the show to be darker. I just find it really telling that they would throw the hammer at Moral Orel with it was being honest and respectful of women going through SA, and yet they do not bat an eye at Orel impregnating the women in Moralton back in season 1.
@@robbyroba one possible answer there could have been a change of leadership in Adult Swim during the run of Morel Orel and the first thing new leadership does is start axing shows.
If you look at the picture frames in the back of adult Morel's home, you can see Shapey started to work as an officer and a firefighter, which means that despite the neglect he faced he still turned out to be a good man. So sweet!
I actualoly found Moral Oral to be not as depressing as many seriously religious TV shows, or as Davey and Goliath, the animated show it parodies. Life gets ugly, but it is "God's Will", and "He" can do much worse if he wanted to. Actually, some religious people are depressing to be around. Also there is the fact that religion is the subject is most likely to provoke adults to get angry and physically violent towards children, which shows how crude and savage people still are in today's America.
Moral Orel is a really blunt and brilliant take on a lot of the things you mention I.E how crude and savage people are over religion, and I suppose it’s how you handle those themes that will determine whether you find it depressing
So many great shows that deserve actual ending (This, The Spectacular Spider-Man, iCarly revival, Clone wars (luckily got ending but after many years) etc)
I am shocked you don’t have more subs or likes on this video, it’s so professional, and as a South Park lover I am loving the comparisons and references. I agree with a ton of points in this video, and I think a lot of people (including myself) miss moral Orel
Thank you so much! I really try my hardest with each upload to get all of my points across in a professional way & I love South Park as well, so it’s really sweet when there’s such a clear comparison to go into!
Exactly! Adult Swim drew the line at talking about women’s trauma and honestly that’s just sad in my view, especially for a network that’s usually so open to exploration
It was so good even though such dark humor, twisted, unexpected show a great one wish they continued it was hilarious, great video I liked the way you explained very well and clearly
Erm you need more views achually ☝🤓 this is really good! A great take on the show too. This show will forever be so underrated, its one of the GOATs for sure
@@harryfromends well I'll keep on coming back for this quality content! Good luck and have fun! And yes this is my favorite show ever besides bojack horseman
Such a good show! It made me feel a lot of things and the ending was so sweet to me it made me cry. Wonderful writing that came out of these people, it was such a treat to be surprised by how compelling they could make the show after the first season! I understand a tv channel not wanting to broadcast trauma's on open air but it's nice that it was made and made so well. Like you said with how great future shows would become on darker subjects like Bojack, I feel that with streaming now is a good time for shows to be made more risqué and not too catered to general audience since the audience can better choose what to watch
