Thank you for stopping by MD, It's an honor to see your comment! Your videos have inspired me to create my content! I learned a lot from you and am still learning, maybe I borrowed a few of your ideas from your content if you don't mind, but I still try to do it my way😎
@@ShrimpMania I don't mind at all buddy. I watch a lot of your videos. You're a top shrimp keeper and a great example of someone focusing on their skill.
@@MDFishTanks Thank you MD, appreciate your support. It means a lot to me! I love your videos as well and I watched them all. You are definitely the top fish keeper/aquascaper on RU-vid and your content is on another level for sure!
@@ShrimpMania thanks buddy. There are definitely better fish keepers and aquascapers than me. I make tons of mistakes but I think people enjoy watching an idiot like me instead of an expert for some reason 🤣🤣
@@MDFishTanks 🤣You are definitely funny and entertainment, you always make good jokes in all of your videos plus filming skill and your gear, your tanks are always clean and bright with colorful plants and fish. That's all make people love your content it including myself
i'm so glad you've discovered bucephlandra, they're so nice and so many species to collect. the red and black galaxy shrimp in display will be stunning, but wow 60, that;s the best thing about breeding your own shrimp, you can pick and put them in your display tank. great video!
WOW, you have so much to talk about in this video. I am so jealous of your yellow galaxies, the buce plant are amazing, I love them in my tanks. You planted tank is amazing, great job. I have a red and black galaxy mixed tank too. Out of the offspring I got a really cool looking sparkling blue shrimp. I have no idea how or why, but it is amazing looking. I am looking forward to your next video.
Thank you Steve for all your support and kind words! I'm hoping my yellow galaxies will make me a large colony, I don't think I have many females there, most of them are males so it can take some time. I wish I can see your sparking blue shrimp I'm sure it looks amazing.
i've watched this video 3 time,s so lovely going to rewatch the golden galaxy fishbone video again :) seems to be 0 or next to none content on golden galaxy fishbone
Yellow Galaxy Wow But i like the Top set up Better Lets have a update I like to see the Carpet And You have alot of patients. Setting up them tank But it seems to worth it in the end Good Luck 👍
Awesome video again! I'm 9 days into a cycle using your ugf method thanks to the other video I commented on so this is great video to show the things to come! I've already got nitrite and nitrate showing as I'm also dosing bb! Just seen you have another channel so just subscribed 🦐
@@ShrimpMania hello just watched your latest video and thought I'd give you an update! The original tank I was referring too was fully cycled in about 3 weeks and I've already ordered and got 11 shadow pandas in it! They have been in the tank for a week and doing well! Probably the quickest cycle of an aquarium I've ever experienced (used to keep discus and many other species for years) so quick in fact my display set up with a dennerle internal filter that was set up Probably 10 days prior to the ugf breeding tank same parameters, soil and beneficial bacteria seeded still hasn't fully cycled! I'm guessing it's due to the extra oxygen with the airpump in the ugf 🤷♂️ just thought it was worth a mention! I've also set up another tank using your method and that too has fully cycled and I'm acclimating 16 crs as I type this! Love the updates and can't wait for mine to breed like yours! 🌱🦐 I think my next shrimp will be galaxy fishbones if you can recommend a good source?
Hello big & new fan! lol I wanted to ask, did you let the algae grow first and once the algae stopped growing, that’s when you knew the cycle was complete before being able to plant? Thank you! 💪🏽
I recently set up a planted shrimp tank with Amazonia Put in a sponge filter from another aquarium and the tank cycled relatively quickly, like 2 weeks or so I thought. I have about .15ppm ammonia in the tank. I guess it’s undergoing another cycle? Another RU-vidr matt said that low amounts of ammonia that come from Amazonia aren’t harmful to shrimp…. Is that true? Was going to aquashella this weekend in hopes of putting something in that tank.
How long the wall turn green ? How many hours the light turn on ? I want to buy sl aqua algea food , this product is good for shrimp. Can you recommend , thanks
Can you share where you get your UGF or the name of it? When I search on Amazon I don't see that design of a box. All I'm seeing is the true UGF that runs under the full tank soil a bottom. Thanks!
May be they help maybe not to much but I don't see big difference if am honest. Im trying to keep my tanks as simple as possible means no addetives in the water, no ferts or tannins. Tannins also can swing ph level so your water parameters will change and this is what normally stressing your shrimp if we talking about high end caridina not neocaridina
How long do you keep your tank recycle for? And if I did planting now can I still do the same process or do I remove the plant? My shrimp all died in a 3 week dark cycle tank. And mine don't grow algae like yours. What should I do? Hoping to get a reply from you. Its been a month of me doing the tank. If there a way to email you or private message you I can send you a pic of my tank.
Hey my temp is 20-22C at this moment because it's not hot here in the uk. All my tanks set up the same way as like on this video, I don't do anything else apart from water change and feeding. For the ugf you can follow this link for more info - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-tZh9OO4jbMM.html
Thanks. Was wondering about the temperature as I'm also in UK and I've noticed you do not have any heaters. I have small CRS colony but can't get babies to survive. Any tips?
Just make sure your NO3 is below 10ppm at all time, baby straggle to survive if its above 10. I'm only do feeding and water change I don't use much of the additives, simplicity is a key to success
Hi, congratulations for your videos. Always cared for and interesting. I wanted to ask you.... if I wanted to start with the neocaridine, what kind of soil should I use ? These seem to lower the pH too...
Hi, any soil will work as long as you prepare your water for neo with some Kh it will buffer ph back even if you have a soil. Soil beneficial for plants growth so sometime is essential
How’s it going I’m a huge fan of your Channel and wanted to ask if you’ve ever dealt with cloudy water in your shrimp tanks and if so how did you resolve it ! Thanks in advance!!!
Hey yes it far less reach than ada and yes that means it can have a shorter life I guess. I'm showing the powder in this video - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ozi4sKb0nUA.html
No that was commercial powder I've got from Taiwan, it was before I've made my own powder. I don't think it makes much difference any bacterial powder will work just fine
@@ShrimpMania If it works that’s great. I made the comment because I have these shelves myself, only to store books and some random stuff. Great looking tanks btw. Have a good one 👍
Thanks mate. Yes I've got them from amazon, great price as well. I was thinking to build myself but the wood is very expensive this day I would pay twice of the price
I had one high tech aquascape /Caridina shrimp tank before, used neo soil shrimp for the setup, and used rotala H'ra and monte carlo, with co2 injection the plants go really well, and so do the PRL, they breed and multiply, monte carlo full carpet and rotala grow really well, until I decide to stop co2 Injection (because tired of trimming the monte carlo and Rotala) suddenly 3/4 of my shrimp colony vanished, still a mystery until this day what causes my shrimp dead, some says nitrate spike because plants don't grow well = nitrate didn't get sucked by the plant, some says the Dissolved oxygen decrease significantly because the photosynthesis is not optimal anymore. Any though from you guys?
Hey Steven, I used to have one of that tank very similar to yours, I had co2 injection and some plants and shrimps did well and bred a lot. With C02 your PH drop by at least 1 so with CO2 for example if you have ph 5 so without your ph can be 6-6.5, caridina like lower pH and dont like sudden changes in water parameters. I think when you remove co2 your pH started to be higher and your shrimp didn't like it.
@@ShrimpMania ahhh that can be the reason... because the whole time i use strip test kit that only have range 6.2-8 it when I test it before stop inject co2 and after stop inject it shows 6.2 it might be lower than 6.2 when I inject it but I didn't notice it because my strip test doesn't reach the pH range below 6.2 😂
hello Brother👋 my daughter lost all the shrimp because she tried to duplicate your technique lol🤭 very expensive experience. Could you donate a few shrimp.🤞
Well you can lost your shrimp with any method they are very sensitive creatures. There are hundreds of mistakes beginners can make and wipe the whole colony. In fact it can happen to anyone including myself. I'm just showing you my way to do it and I can't guarantee your success if you copy my method. Whatever works for me might not work for you and sometimes you have to learn from your mistakes Brother.
