I think it's a shame. it's a great little series loads of potential/ stuff to cover. I didn't get the notifications and only became aware after watching the video about it ending.
No dude. No. That’s impulsive. How long have these been running, two or three months?! This is what we want from you. You know better than that. LET IT COOK. DO NOT GIVE UP SO EASILY. YOU ARE THE CREEPY GOAT. Don’t stop because it doesn’t have some quick payout man. That’s kinda bs. You said you wanted to do these types of videos and you used to do these long ago. They’re what made me watch you to start with. Then you moved, got depressed, focused on gaming, got robbed, and are making a steady rise. If you want a quick payout, get a part time gig as a bartender and make skits that way. But if you quit this series? Man… I don’t know. You really shouldn’t. Let it cook.
Dude o swear to god you better not quit this series. You haven’t given it time to marinate man. This is what we all want from you for real. Let it cook. DO NOT QUIT THIS SERIES.
I would love to continue it, but these videos are expensive to make. I don't think people realize these cost me money lol. If the views are too low, I can't justify making them anymore, no matter how much I like making them. If the views pick up though I may not have to stop the series…
I appreciate Matt merely presenting the facts and not inserting his own personal biases. As a Catholic, I hope it’s real, but can understand the skeptics.
Well, compared to any other fabric that we have from 2,000 years ago, it doesn't match anything at all. So it's like the fabric wasn't actually made 2,000 years ago. It matches fabrics close to 1200 to 1600 years ago which is post Christ by at least 400 years plus
Yes brother as Catholics we are not called to believe things such as The Shroud of Turin without scientific proof. In fact when things such as a Marian apportion happen the Church does not believe it and it under goes intense scrutiny. Let us pray that God graces us with the truth on the shroud regardless of the out come.
@@kimberlydudman2296 Not really. Scientists annalyzed cloth from that era and found that it matched those, especially in the rates of decay. This was a more recent discovery.
Facts are Jesus was never described physically anywhere in the New Testament. No long hair. No beard. There is no description in the Bible at all looking like what we envision him as now and in the Shroud of Turin. The first depiction in art has him with short hair and beardless. It wasn’t until the fourth century that he was depicted with a beard.
That's Matt. This is a very good series, and I love how you dig into the facts and mystery. Don't give up on this project! The algorithm just hasn't caught up yet! In fact this is the first time I was alerted to this channel, and I have been a subscriber for years now.
I wish this series would keep going. At least for those who actually did like it. Imagine you doing a dark chronicles episode about the aforementioned “Un-alive” Forest on Mt. Fuji. Or the significances of Creepy Pastas. Or even the famous predicted year on the Mayan calendar of 2012 (that came to pass but still) and so many other topics. This would’ve been cool to watch expand even further. Least for the ones that enjoyed watching it. Great video as always Matt.
I remember watching a documentary on this as a kid in the 80s or early 90s. While not a believer, I always found the scientific methodology fascinating in trying to prove or disprove it. Still no closer to proving but pretty cool!
I have heard of the shroud but only from mouth here and there, mainly from your channel, but to know the full tale as well as how this mythical item had been through naysayer & believer lips is impeccable, even to hear it in full detail. I wish these would continue on and not just two episodes left, but know that this series was one of my favorites ^w^
Hey Matt, While I'm sad that this series didn't work out. Its my favorite series of yours ever (sorry 50AF) I definitely understand why you decided to end it❤
Mans really read my comment about this, thanks for letting us know and finishing the series because at the very least it's amazing and we want it but they don't get it yet
we do like this series I regret I dont comment and like on everything but I really enjoyed all your content from the start. I'm glad you're back to making weekly content.
In the gospels, Jesus has a separate cloth covering his face and sounds like having multiple cloths instead of a singular one like Turin. Not to mention the image is so Symmetrical which doesn't make sense since a cloth wouldn't be put on like that. The mystery should be on how it was made but not that it is Jesus.
Nowhere in the New Testament is Jesus physically described. There is no where in the Bible where Jesus is described how we’ve come to portray him today and in the Shroud of Turin. In art, depictions of him with a beard didn’t start until the fourth century. Before that he was depicted with short hair (sometimes curly)and no beard.
The c14 may not be 100% conclusive, because of the small chance that the three samples were taken from parts that were addeded before and all of them on the same period, but so far its the best piece of evidence about the shroud, some other evidence agree with the theory that its a painting made between 1200s to 1300s. Basically the only evidence that link it to crist is circumstantial, suppositions or vague resemblances, so at least to me is a closed case.
@@traceystonemetz7919 Oh I’ve checked it out. A lot of people have. Experts have determined that there’s no way it was as old as jesus “supposedly” was. The Vatican even lied about it at one point, and that is public knowledge. There’s a lot of things I would love to be real, we just need the evidence for it.
@@darkhymnsfromthecoldnorthI don’t know if you’ve seen the recent study but it dates back to exactly the time of Jesus and the fibres in the linen also determine the area in Jerusalem. Even if that somehow wasn’t the case scientist still to this day have no clue how a photo negative image that matches all the details of the bible got there in the first place. Look at the recent studies yourself if you don’t believe but to me it seems quite clear that Jesus is truly the son of God.
I’m no longer a Christian, but the most recent studies that show how old it is and where the fibers came from sure help support that it was made around the time and place of “someone” living/dying in Jerusalem around the alleged time of Christ. Whether or not it’s proof of anything more cannot be proved this far, but sure does make one speculate.
See I’m not a big fan of sticking to just horror stuff. Stuff like this is very interesting to watch, anything that has to deal with real life circumstances or historical events is so much more interesting. When I started watching you, I was a little younger, and I was more into the spiritual side of things like ghosts and haunted items or abandoned buildings. But a lot of us are grown up now and I think we’re more interested in the realistic stuff.
I believe that the shroud of Turin is real .Why do we doubt that it because it was our lord and savior. It is like Noah ark people don’t want to believe that bible could true.
I call it a hoax for a few reasons. First, Yahshua was from a region of Judea where most of the people were not tall, men being less than 6 feet in height and possessing features very different from European men. Secondly, the shroud He was wrapped it was a wrap, meaning it would not have shown the features as this shroud does. Thirdly, there would have been remnants of oils and herbs that were traditionally used in Jewish burials, which this shroud does not. Lastly, and maybe most importantly, in order for the features to be that clear, the cloth would have had to be in contact with the body longer than a few days. Even then, the cloth would have been wrapped tightly around the body, thus distorting the facial features in a relatively predictable way, as well as bearing stronger imprints of hands and feet. On a side note, it's also likely that DNA could be obtained and would have been possible to determine along with what type of fabric, pollens, herbs, oils, and presence of saline. None of that was done, and the Church perpetuates the whole thing like it's done since its inception. The shroud is inauthentic and follows a very European ideal of Yashua's appearance and burial practices. The Church will never allow a DNA swab of the shroud or to test for constituents known to have been used in Jewish burials of time He was buried.
I like the series, and hope you continue to make it. this episode didnt peak my interest as much as somebody who isnt into religion. but it was interesting none the less
Knights Templar to rescue. It’s a hoax along with the spear of destiny. The spear does hold some gravitas, but the facts don’t come correct. “Spear of destiny “ actually does date back the time. The spear is still kinda shady to me
THE HAIR. How could the hair be going vertically along his face if it was placed over him lying down? Makes no sense. Hair would fall down on the flat surface. It only works it it was placed over him standing up.
I'll definitely miss this series. I think it might have been more successful if some of the topics hadn't been ones that are very common and many people already know a lot about. Looking forward to more creative video ideas that you want to throw our way. 🫳🏈
I'm sad this series is going away.😢 I thought it was awesome, and I viewed them all! Best of luck with whatever you put out for us, I've been a fan from the beginning ❤❤❤
Thanks Matt for being a big part of my childhood. I grew up watching your videos. I just now became a channel member, I just found out you could become a channel member on RU-vid. Love ya man and keep on doing amazing things.
Please don’t stop making the Dark Chronicles, I enjoy them very much. But I understand that sometimes you have to do something you really don’t want to do. Either way I will continue to watch your videos. Have a wonderful day.
Fascinating. As a young girl, our church had a speaker come to ponder the authenticity of the shroud. Obviously, I'm still curious about that. Thank you for covering this.
It's crazy that the only valid natural explanation of the thing is that someone in Medieval Europe sonehow mastered radiographic 3D imaging beyond modern techniques and decided it was time to pull an epic prank...
It has been found that the blood, (just recently) has 25 chromosomes. A human has 48. 24 from the mother, 24 from the father. Jesus blood would have had 24 from His mother, Mary, and 1 chromosome from the Heavenly Father. Jesus IS the Son of God.
Fantastic video! My mom and I have talked about this and it's interesting to hear some new facts and points of view. Don't know where I stand, but it's intriguing! Love your videos and always looking forward to more!
Can you keep trying with the Dark Chronicles. I understand your video where you were saying that it's not taking off like you want it too. But it's really good I believe that it just hasn't caught on yet and I think if you give him more time that it might be successful
This video came at a good time. Funny enough, I was actually wondering about the Shroud for the past 2 weeks or so and I learned a lot more about it with this. Thanks, Matt. It's a real shame that this series won't continue, but I do hope more people will check it out and give it more of a chance. But if this does turn out to be the last in this series, I wanna say I've loved it so far and, for me personally, I'm glad it ended with this topic. The Shroud among other topics of this nature are some of the things that fascinate me the most so this has ended up being my favorite episode of this series. I hope whatever else you endeavor to do, that you find success, Matt.
