Thank you for sharing Haiti and Haitians beauty. I am Dominican and have never visited Haiti. I can’t wait until Haiti gets to be a place we can all visit. The Haitian people deserve to live in peace!
Haiti is that kid everyone else can see his potential except for himself....too busy getting into trouble with a wave of misguided anger....smh Thank you Reyes, that is the nicest thing ever
I love how u said Haiti would be a prime tourist spot if they can get out of the situation they're in. Haiti was once the prime tourist destination back in the 50's , 60's and 70's. This was before Bahamas and Jamaica. It was once known as the Black Pearl of the Antilles. My mom would tell me stories. I didn't go to Haiti until years after the earthquake since I was born in the States. I fell in love with Haiti 🇭🇹. I'm so sad for the kidnappings and violence taking place in Port au Prince. 😪 I wish u went to Haiti during better times. I'm happy u both were able to make it out ok. Thank u Jesus Christ 🙏🏾
How they gonna get out of the situation your 🇺🇸 goons put them into. 🇺🇸 has had its knees on haiti's neck since 1915 and they continue to make it worst cos any prosperous black nations is a threat to all white countries especially the 🇺🇸 and that's why they can't leave Haiti alone 🤨
Thank you so much, Oskar and Dan, for choosing to visit Haiti, La Perle des Antilles! I appreciate your honest views, open-mindedness, and the love you showed Haiti and its people, especially Serge and Edner, your guides! You spoke the truth about our country and your kind word, compliments, and promotion of Tourism in Haiti are very much appreciated! May God continue to bless you both! Wishing you continued happy, enjoyable, and safe trips around the world! Much love!
My beautiful homeland is like the ashes of the Phoenix. It shall rise again one day. Thank you for sharing what so many others chose not to. One Love 💞🤗
I love how you guys took us through every moment so detailed! I’m glad you guys are safe and let the world know there are more sides of Haiti then what the media would like to portray
Haitians Behave hostile towards those who would be hostile towards them (or who would be disregarding of them and their plight on their own home turf ...)
I am from Barbados and we know that all blacks owe 🇭🇹 . thanks for making it out of slavery. Now they are being punished for it by the world . I love and respect you and thank you for all you have done for us.
🙏✌❤🇭🇹👍 Thanks for sharing this video with a positive perceptive on Haiti. Praise the Lord you all made back home safely. I hope when Haiti returns to normal, you can go back to really enjoy visiting Jacmel to the fullest. The high mountains & beaches will take your breath away. I can't wait myself to visit my father's birth place. ❤🌹❤🇭🇹👍
I am fascinated by Haiti. I have never been there, but I want to visit when the pandemic is under control and the security situation improves. Meanwhile, I have a few options for taking in Haitian culture here in Paris. I like your channel and have subscribed.
Honestly Haiti there was fun it was my first time going there the beaches were beautiful there was this restaurant on a beach and stuff the food there is good and the mountains were very big I did not know that haiti had mountains the first time I was there
Thanks for visiting our country.I appreciate both of your videos about 🇭🇹. I can feel all your emotions and I laugh so hard literally. Like you said Haiti is a raw diamond I can't wait to see it shines ✨ . Watching and sharing it from the mountains ⛰ 🇭🇹
Thanks for sharing two videos about Haiti. I am Canadian with haitian origin. Haiti is a beautiful country to visit. You are very courageous to travel to such an agitated country. Even the President of Haiti was assassinated lately. It is not safe to travel to this country.
Check this guy out if you wanna see more of Haiti .. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Glx7AmJW_FY.html&feature=share&si=EMSIkaIECMiOmarE6JChQQ
Hello there. Just wanna say I am in awe of your adventurous journey to Haiti. I was there in Haiti back at the start of 2010 on a mission trip for the earthquake that happened helping to build homes in Cite Soliel. I was the oddball because alot of the Haitian people had never seen a U.S. black American before who mostly spoke English. But yes, the situation was beyond horrible. For example, our team could only get clean water from a well we had to hike to about 2 miles away while being surrounded by security. Wont even go into showering/hygiene issues and constant gunshots. I will say that one thing Haiti should do is to invest in bringing back more forests since Haiti has lost the majority of its forests since 1980s due to illegal logging and indiscriminate banana/coconut palm plantations. Investing in more green space, bringing back indigenous species, and more environmental protection will not increase tourism but build their economy closer to the level of the Dominican Republic.
Oskar and Dan. Wow! What a two series experience of Haiti. I have friends that have worked there to try and help and both left due to the 'problems'. What an amazing country and so full of potential. First off, I am glad you guys are out of Haiti and safe and well - you were very brave! But, what makes your journey special, is showing the real side of the island and its people. And as you say at the end 'it is a diamond'. Lets hope greed, and all the rest of the problems there by a select few, that destroy it for all, will one day be in the past and the Haitian people can really start to deserve the life they so rightly should have. As a coincidence, I met a delivery guy in my buildings elevator this week and obviously being a 'gringo' living in Brazil he asked me if I was French. I said not and we spoke in Portuguese and he that he was from Haiti. I told him of your first video and how amazed I was bout the country and he was so happy and tearful :(( that he had had to leave. Well done guys for honest reporting but also, to leave a message of positivity of what Haiti will one day become x
People like you can make a difference. You can can see beyond what others cannot. I thank you guys for this wonderful video about Haiti and I hope to see from you another video of Haiti in the future.
Im praying God to change the situation of haiti, so i can go back in my country with kids who never traveled there. I miss my country so much, the food, the beauty of the landscaping, and everything about this country.😭
Guys Honestly, the English woman just may have saved your lives. It was a smart move to hike through the mountains of Furcy and Kenscoff. She is exactly right when she said it’s the worst it’s ever been in a long long time. I know because we live in Haiti part time and my wife is Haitian. You guys are very lucky. Hopefully Haiti will get back to better days. Oh and everyone in the country carries a machete. Lol
I’ve always wanted to hike this trail, thanks for your honesty and sharing the beauty of 🇭🇹. Maybe someday you could come visit us at our beautiful home in Jeremie Haiti.
Thanks for the insights to Haïti. While in terms of safety these days you can't make a proper comparison but the contrast between Port-au-Prince and Jacmel reminds me of the difference between Nairobi and Lamu. Same country, different regional mentalities and look and feel. Big cities in many parts of the world bear their own challenges while the hinterland can be a complete contrast.
Im convinced that there are many undiscovered beautiful places in the world (people and landscape wise), which are hidden from tourism out of political reasons and safety issues. It's amazing to watch guys like you share your adventures and your uncensored impressions. With two little kids at home, such experiences seem far away at the moment. Thank's to the RU-vid community I get my regular adventure dose here 😉. Thumbs up for your amazing videos guys!
Are you serious, they couldn´t enjoy, that is the most excited journed that they perhaps never had, the had story to tell to their family even to their sons for a long time.
@@baltazarreyes6076 they were in fear most of the time. that is not the type of excitement they were looking for. this situation will CRUSH the tourism market in haiti.
@@KevinP32270 Are you serious, when you said this is not of the type of excitement perhaps not, but they were aware and also notified about what was happening there. I don´t think that can crush the tourism market, haitian tourism market has always crush, Haiti can also bet for somethin like dark tourism.
I have Haiti on my list of destinations. But scared to take the trip. Your guide Serge seems like a really nice person. Thanks for this informative compilation.
Superb video chaps, thank you. It's such a spectacular place which deserves so much better after hundreds of years of utter horror. I hope for a better future for the country and especially the people.
Wow am an African from Nigeria always saw Haiti on TV and internet very poor dirty place people suffering and all that never seen this beauty on internet thank u so much for sharing mom is taking us on holiday I guess I am going to choose Haiti love u Haiti from Nigeria 😍🇳🇬
Hi @ Valarie kinging : Two weeks ago you wrote " mom is taking us on holiday I guess I am going to choose Haiti love u Haiti from Nigeria. " Thanks for your love, and your interest in visiting Haiti, Valarie ! Your message projects youthfulness. Therefore, consider the following advice from old me : If you are a minor child, please have your parents and other mature adults in your entourage check out the recent very troubling news about Haïti before reserving your flights across the Atlantic Ocean ! The current situation there might be emotionally and physically much more troubling than the aftermath of an earthquake ! Therefore, IT'S NOT AT ALL A GOOD IDEA TO TRAVEL THERE in the near future !!! Perhaps, not until 2023 , God willing ! Please PRAY for His Grace ! Best regards to you, your Mom, and your entire family! Keep safe from the COVID-19 virus variants ! :```````````````````````````````````````````````````````: : élise ( 8 / 23 / 21 ||| 6 : 30 PM ) : Ü````````````````````````````````````````````````````Ü
Thank you Oscar & Dan for sharing the beauty of my country. Born in Haïti, I grew up there and the United States and now unable to retire there because of the insecurity…… I am also grateful to see a side of Haïti which I will never get to experience.
I grew up with Haitian friends in NYC and they are some of the most loving and hospitable people you will ever meet. Haiti's culture, history and natural beauty have always fascinated me. What we are now seeing in Haiti is the result of centuries of Western colonialism (pulling resources out of the country) and then leaving it in the hands of corrupt government officials who hoard those resources for themselves. When the people have little to no opportunity for economic advancement and stability in their own personal lives, they turn on each other, creating an endless cycle of violence, terrorism and fear. It's all systematic destruction. When foreigners come in having more opportunity ( no fault of their own) it can cause a negative reaction towards those foreigners. I keep Haiti in my prayers. Thank you two for being brave hearts by going in and showing us this undervalued country. I'm happy you made it out. Great job! guys! ❤️🌈💯 (Liked and Subscribed)
Ah yes, the blame game. It's so easy and fun! Just blame all your problems on others and then you can just sit back and watch! It's the best game because you always win!!
I miss Jacmel bad . I wish there was an airport that goes directly there . I’m Haitian American and I’m terrified of being kidnapped when I go back . Considering the news today this vlog made me happy 😊. Great content ❤️
Hejsan! The walk across the mountains is iconic and one that people in Haiti dream of doing.... I did the hike from Furcy high above Port-au-Prince to Jacmel some twenty years ago with a friend, At the time, there was no road going from Furcy to the top at Seguin, just a narrow trail - and we were the only two whities walking on the crests of the mountains, winding our way up. The hike took us two days, one day walking up, one day walking down. with a stop overnight at a small hotel at the top. You guys took the passable road in the other direction, from the villages near Jacmel, up to the top, before you started hiking down - that's the easy part!! Long story. What I'm missing in your description of your hike is just a little info about the mountains you were hiking through - the top is an exceptional nature reserve and it's absolutely eerie and surreal to be there among the giant ferns and the tall pines. And I think you're a bit harsh on the tour operator. I've used her services several times, her drivers and guides are impeccable, her vehicles safe, and I don't think you can blame the lady for warning you against kidnappings and other dangers. It IS potentially dangerous to be in Haiti - especially as a white tourist - but the locals are also very exposed. So one should never, ever take security warnings lightly. That said, go to Haiti, meet the people and reverse the pictures from the media - you'll love it!!! Ayiti rete nan kè mwen!
I fall on this video ,first let me think you guys for this great job,you put a big spotlight on my country, this documentary its very special for us,b ecause you show the beauty maybe that the world had never seen before, thx a lot for your love🙏🏾🇭🇹 HAÏTI

My American teacher one of them was Swedish I’ve always said I wanted to go to Sweden 🇸🇪 hit me up 🇭🇹🇺🇸
Hi guys I enjoyed the Haiti blogs - my husband and I visited Haiti in the early 70’s stayed at the Grand Hotel Oloffson - it was magnificent at the time owned by a ex US football player Al Seitz - I have many stories (Papa Doc REIGN ) - the place hasn’t changed much - beautiful countryside but horrid political / governmental Corruption- two girls were raped at the hotel by a high government official while we were there. Nothing could be done. We acquired lots of artwork - some now valuable Again many stories - glad you made it out safely.
Sooo excruciatingly beautiful and exciting!!! This may be the most exhilarating adventure I've ever had vis a vis RU-vid with Oskar and Dan. I have always had a passion and empathy for this challenged little nation. Now you have inspired me to tune in to Haitian current events and aspire to visit this breathtaking land. Please don't lose Serges contact info. Love you both dearly.
The natural beauty of the Haiti is stunning! I’ve never even knew myself of its beauty. 🥺🤩 Wishing it could recover and grow exponentially through its infrastructure and economy soon enough. Let’s hope! 🥰❤️✨
A place of my heart ❤ First visit was 2012 to see how I could help some folks still affected by the earthquake and fell in love with the place and the people. Out of all my travels, Haiti stole my heart and I've been going since, doing my little charity work trying to reach some forgotten folks who are still struggling after the earthquake. Now doing work from a distance with boots on the ground. Can't wait for things to get better to start going again. Thank you for being real about Haiti. It could be a Prime tourist destination if they can get it together and curb the crime. Would love to take m family and friends for a visit.
We traveled to Haiti on a cruise in 2017, a few months after a devastating hurricane. The ship had a port on the north of the island that was pretty much just used for cruise ships and passengers. We didn't really see the "real" Haiti, but what we saw was a beautiful. The Haitians we met, like the men who took us on a sea kayak tour, were welcoming and friendly. Tourism was down after the hurricane, and it was a bit controversial for the ships to continue to stop there when people on the island were suffering. But, they thanked us profusely for coming, for supporting their industry, and for helping them return to work. It was an interesting experience that we're glad we were able to have!
Sounds like your tour guide scared you. I love hearing that Haiti is a diamond in-the ruff♥️♥️♥️ hope you get to return to visit other beautiful places there.
What a wonderful video!! Thank you for sharing this wonderful experience of Haiti! We love you showed the true essence and beauty of Haiti and the great possibilities that could be for this country!
Thank you for taking me with you....I left Haïti 56 years ago. This is not the country I use to know...still beautiful but chaotic .God bless this country 🙏
In my experience when some local people tell you about something dangerous in another part of their country it is often in reality not as bad while other things are worse, the best way to get through such situations is if you can find locals who travel a lot, because they have the actual first hand experience, for example i had a similar situation in Honduras when it was so bad there in 2014, i had a mostly good experience in the three weeks i´ve been there and keept relatively safe by not seeming as a rich tourist, havin rough, worn and dirty cloth and equipment as well as not taking the tourist busses but the cheapest local busses was key for me there and ofc. speaking some spanish.
My family is from Trinidad and it’s not this bad but still a bit sketchy to visit. Lots of barbed wire and broken glass glued to the top of walls. Very sad, but still cool to check out.
Some friends from my church and the Colorado Haiti Project had just left Port au Prince for Petit Trip de Nippes when the earthquake destroyed the hotel where they had slept the night before.
Wow - how wonderful that you got to hike through those montagnes avec Serge. Yes - me and my daughter were also threatened with a knife in a Cape Town street, but luckily were rescued by brave men who literally did their karate thing. I froze with fear. Sad that Port au Prince looks so bad, but magnifique vistas over the ocean. One day - but not in my lifetime. Greetings from Egoli, Mzansi.
I love your Videos. You guys are so brave & do great content :D do you have the contact of the guide serge? I am in Dominican republic sooner & would love to check out Haiti for a day or two as well:)
Yeah Jacmel is one of the prettiest cities in Haiti but Cap Haitien and Petion ville are the top best cities in Haiti but tourists mostly go to Labadie because of the royal carrebean
A beautifully made film. Very well narrated and fascinating. Serge's eloquence was extremely touching too! How did you get out of there? Will there be a part 3? Also might be a good idea to mention who the British lady was so that future travellers can avoid her! I'm here just a couple of days after the earthquake and it works be great to know that Serge is ok!
