So interesting as I watched this video it occurred to me that for at least a year I no longer feel a need to go to the movies or even watch TV, streaming nor do I feel a need to listen to the radio station or music I used to listen to. Things that were so "important" to me have simply fallen away since I had returned to the faith in 2023 and immersed myself in reading Catholic books, reading the Bible, going to mass, and a prayer life that includes daily rosaries and other devotions. It really does change your whole being and mind in the most gentlest way - so gentle you don't even notice the transformation.
And yet... Good movies can help people to understand others and also to understand what can be wrong in our own behavior... Especially Kdramas, such as The king eternal monark, It's ok not to be ok, Are you human....
I was blessed when I read the ten volumes. I was unaware of the criticisms so I read it without scrutiny or bias. Someone I respect mentioned to read the book regarding Mary from the works of Maria Valtorta and in looking for it I came across the volumes and began reading. I’m so very thankful! It was like cold water for a thirsty soul. The details endeared me to Jesus, it reminds me of where it says in scripture “He went about doing good” pages and pages of Jesus doing good! With so much love that when the transition comes to nearer His passion, death I could feel the heaviness in the change. How Maria V must have suffered seeing these visions so clearly!
I see St Charbel, behind you there.. just to let you and your viewers know that his relic will be in the Dominicans, The Black Friars church in Kilkenny next weekend. Sun from 4 pm to 6 ☺️🕊️🙏🏽
These books speak for themselves if You can find them and read them yourself. There were 5 volumes written as well as some smaller booklets given to Maria Valtorta by Heaven. They are written in such a way as to make you feel like you are watching the events many of which are described in the Bible(but in a more short-handed; just to make a point manner) not alive as in these beautiful writings!
My lovely mummy has been reading this since 1989 without stopping she’s always torturing us to read it and I don’t enjoy reading. The words seem to go together on me. I prefer to listen to stuff which is why I’m listening to your podcast. I’m going to have to make the effort. It was written by a woman who was bed bound, she was ill. She was in her bed in Italy towards the end of the second world War. It has to be revelation and Pope John Paul II loved it and Padre Pio loved it.
Father roshini has enlightened me on Maria valtorta and I don’t find it offensive like Luisa piccaretta it draws me closer to God and our blessed mother
@@thecatholicman There are some lovely holy things said by Luisa but like the apparitions in Lourdes there were many other apparitions and all looked very holy and many fell for them but on closer inspection turned out to be demonic in nature I remember a lecture by father John hardon who investigated apparitions and mystics etc and showing some he investigated to a Protestant friend he couldn’t believe his eyes and was convinced of there authenticity and he looked at him and laughed and said I’m condemning them all the Catholic Church is very strict when it comes to the matter of apparitions etc
I think it’s a blessing if people get the grace to get time to read ,but even though I be busy at work , sometimes we don’t realise how many times we read or listen to the word of God each day , in daily readings or when we go to mass, there was something you said there Robert maria book which I agree , it opened up the scriptures. I only as I say read one book ,maybe in the future I will get the grace to read them all , as I said before in the last comment, it’s the attention to detail especially,I really felt the Holy Spirit open up my heart to specific background information on the scriptures and felt I was there myself witnessing this. True like all books translated into English you will get errors but these are minimal , but no human being could write this ,it would be impossible to make up volumes and volumes . God bless ,to mass now the struggle goes on in my life just like everyone else 🙏
We're capable of learning many things and are blessed to have someone such as yourself willing to teach us. Thankyou & God bless! *Jesus was a storyteller*🙏🕊📿☘️
Reading the Poem of the Man-God brought about the conversion of my son and his return to the Church. As for me, it has deepened my faith and relationship with our Lord. So, therefore, the "fruits" of reading it has been very good in our lives. Haven't you ever wondered why, after three years of His public ministry, there wasn't more in the Gospels? The poem also brings the personalities of the apostles and holy women, to life. After reading the Poem, all five volumes, I think the title should have been, "The Gospel According to Jesus." That's because, by western thought, it is not a poem.
Thank you , we must all learn to discern, I will try get this book what's to loose, I've been reading many books so why not this. My main reading though is the bible and for any advice I go to the catachism.🙏🙏🙏
Article III of the Apostles Creed reads: "Who was Conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary " The Catechism of the Council of Trent was promulgated by a great Dominican Pope, St. Pius V. Where this Catechism discusses the third article of the Apostles Creed, it does so using one of tbe most beautiful and sublime pieces of prose I have ever read. It lifts us up and completely engages the mind, heart and soul in union with the most Holy Trinity. So do many other non controversial books on the basics of the Faith. Can anyone who has ever read 'The Incredible Catholic Mass ' by Fr. Martin von Cochem, not put it down, feeling more united with Christ than ever? Robert recommends using Lectio Divina to read sacred Scripture. As do I. It fosters a deeper union with the most Holy Trinity. Robert refers to the poem of the man-God as Supernatural. I was just wondering when did the Holy Office say this officially? Robert refers to this book as being a sign of Divine Origin and gives the impression it is necessary for our Salvation. It would be great if Robert could confirm this; or say that the book isn't necessary for Salvation. On Pentecost Sunday the Holy Ghost revealed the complete Deposit of Faith to the Apostles. It would be cruel to think, the Holy Ghost didn't reveal that Valtorta is necessary for Salvation, if this be truly so. Valtorta isn't in the Deposit of Faith. So Roman Catholics are free to decide whether to read her or not. My view is that Valtorta isn't necessary for Salvation as she wasn't in the Fidei Depositum at Pentecost. So long as we believe in, and base our lives on the perennial binding public revelation of the Church, the Holy Ghost will lead us to Heaven.
This isn’t a question over salvation. Nobody who reads Valtorta is saying it’s necessary to for salvation. It is efficacious for growth in sanctity though. It’s a catapult into the spiritual life.
@amberdv8796 I asked Robert To clarify whether he was saying Valtorta was a sine qua non for Salvation. As usual he never answers my questions head on and directly. You have now clarified this issue.
One of the very important signs that we should listen to is the Church when it rules on any visionary, to ignore that is to call out the Church as being wrong. Maria Valtorta's book has been condemned by the Church on a number of occasions and yet this is ignored. Cardinal Ratzinger said of the writings: The 'Visions' and 'dictations' referred to in the work, The Poem of the Man-God are simply literary forms used by the author to narrate in her own way the life of Jesus. The cannot be considered supernatural in origin. The Apostolic nuncio Archbishop Agostino Cacciavillan, pointed out that, although the index was abolished in 1965, it still retains its moral force and faithful Catholics should heed the reservations and cautions expressed in it. Are we that desperate for to be close to Christ we need to turn to books written by someone whose writings have been decided are NOT be of supernatural origin. No wonder there is such a split in the Church when the congregation are seeking anything to know Christ. As you said: the Four Gospels are enough.
That is true and it has fostered thousands of Saints. But in the modern age the word of God has been so terribly destroys be so many bishops and priests, and forgotten by laity. God sends a sign when it’s needed.
@@dankmatter3068 Of course we are still Protestant, because the Bible reveals the errors of the Catholic Church, and Martin Luther and others protested about the errors, and the errors still remain. So why shouldn't we still be Protestants?
As Christ pointed out is why would the demons do good things in the name of God? Evangelicals claim Marian apparitions are demonic because they don't promote Jesus. Well, the "O my Jesus, forgive us our sins. Save us from the fires of Hell, especially those mist in need of your mercy." prayer spoken by the Blessed Mother to the three shepherd childen refutes that. Orémus Y'all.
The problemn is nowdays people can be very easily missled because they know nothing about God, the Gospel, the church... So all these private revelations and the apocryphal gospels it's a big mess... easy to feal lost...easy to have a wrong understanding of the "divine will" and even Louisa Picaretta puts thing so weardly as if she was talking about her lover 😵💫 the safest thing to do is to cling to the four Gospel... For the rest, don't get lost....
Have you read Maria Valtorta’s volumes volumes called The Notebooks (I have 2of them) and also her book called The End Times? These are a very interesting read. These are also dictations from Christ.
On Mary tv on internet on Saturday 7 September UK starting I think 4pm time Ivan Visionary from Medjugorje has invited all to pray 2 Rosaries and be with Ivan Live in his Chapel to receive Our Beautiful Blessed Mother 🌹 in Ivans Apparition, this is A Beautiful Grace dont miss it, rita England 🙏🌍🙏🌹🕊️This happened yesterday and you can see recording on Marytv🌹Thanks be to God🌹 and Our Beautiful Blessed Mother 🌹🙏🌍🙏🕊️🕊️🕊️🕊️🕊️
Robert, I am so surprised and disappointed in those who have such a negative view of Medjugorie and of you. I've been to Medjugorie in 2013, and it has never stopped affecting my life, making me even more aware of our journey here and staying on track toward heaven our home. My heart is stronger toward the holy trinity! I Love God our Father Jesus our Savior and the Holy Spirit our Advocate! Mary leads us to her to the Trinity!
Salvation is possible without the Medjugorje HOAX. If you want to make a pilgrimage to a REAL apparition site I recommend based on experience: Guadeloupe, Lourdes and Fatima. Medjugorje has not been approved by the Holy Office. I disapprove of Medjugorje. I DO NOT have a negative attitude towards Robert. I am sure he would be disappointed if everyone agreed with him all the time.
@dermotquigley356 Well, of course, salvation is possible without Medjugorie, no one has said otherwise! If you were aware of the many fruits from Medjugorie, you might at least Not use the word hoax in sharing your opinion! No one is encouraged to believe in any apparitions.
@@lindakelly49I am entitled to call a dodgy set of unapproved (they will never be approved) apparitions a HOAX. Private revelation is NOT BINDING. THE FIDEI DEPOSITUM IS BINDING.
Don’t worry about those who have a negative view on Medjugorje. There is always going to be a debate about it, and it’s actually healthy. Pray, fast, go to mass, and help those around you. Have faith and be at peace
@@dermotquigley356 If it's a hoax why are these the fruits? satan would be committing suicide. The fruits of Medjugorje 1. Long Lineups for confession 2. Hundreds to thousands for adoration and mass 3. Stations of the Cross 4. Conversions to the Catholic Faith 5. Renewal of Catholic living
I was seriously going to go and read it until I read the comments, and there was an association with Medjugorge, and as hard as I’ve tried, I am unable to believe anything about Medjugorge is from Heaven.
"You will know them by their fruits." The fruits of Medjugorje 1. Long Lineups for confession 2. Hundreds to thousands for adoration and mass 3. Stations of the Cross 4. Conversions to the Catholic Faith 5. Renewal of Catholic living The fruits of Maria Valtorta's writings 1. Deepening in love for Jesus and Mary 2. More detailed explanation of the gospel 3. Peace, love and joy
When I was young (the 80's) Valtortas books inflamed faith in my family. Our beautifully illustrated family bible was only opened to be admired not studied.
