For anyone having issues with the second step bottom piston not extending. Remove the redstone by that piston (Check the video at 3:14, it's the redstone to the far right). Place a solid block there, and add redstone to the top.
This design surprisingly works in java 1.20.2 just you need to make sure the redstone dust at 2:07 goes into the piston with a target block beside it (or repeater or any redstone item which transmit signal directly to the piston) super tiny build and very impressive
1. Instead of placing the lever where he placed. Instead, trail redstone up a staircase you make leading back to the room. Using a button will be difficult, so just hide the lever in the room from the trail of redstone. 2. You wont be able to close it behind you. And you will be stuck if someone closes it behind you. Fix this by leading another trail of redstone from the original trail like a T, and lead it downstairs to where your hidden room is. Add a lever there.

For anyone wondering how to close it from the outside all u have to do is bring the redstone out 3 blocks from where u put your lever then bring it up to where you want the lever on the outside
SUPER IMPORTANT THING: for those wantinf to use stair instead of blocks, you can do it for the first two (closest ti the switch) but not bottom "seeable blocks that are revealed vis the pistons taking the 3rd top block, pretty sure stairs are considered slabs so the redstone pitches a fit. Also remember to add the repeater as seen in 3:33 to help with properly timed cycling.
From where he put the lever, make a staircase leading to your desired top, make the red stone dust trail leading to the top, put your lever down and it should work, to close it from the bottom also, just put another lever near the redstone dust trail at the bottom, it'll intercept it
Im having a problem with the 2 sticky pistons with the sticky piston facing up, the one facing up wont extend, only way i managed to get it to move was put a red stone torch under it but obviously it wont operate by the lever then
I worked it out, wire a second redstone string that leads directly into the piston that’s problematic. It should also connect to the lever so it all turns on at the same time
I’ve just figured it out you need to add another redstone trail connected to the bottom piston to the lever and add a redstone repeater 1 redstone dust before the bottom piston max tick
okay guys i don't if you have solve your problem yet, I solved the problem by adding a block in place of the redstone connected to the bottom piston, and then connected that block to the redstone trail leading to the lever.
I cant find any good tutorials on making a flush (Or as close to flush as possible) 3 x 3 piston staircase, the only one i did find dousnt work anymore, could you make a tutorial on that next?
I need some help. My middle step with the two sticky pistons is not working. The bottom one extends but the top one doesn't come all the way back down.
awesome build! worked well for me when just doing one, but after mirroring it and trying to add the buttons it started having synching issues? goes back and forth with the 3 sticky pistons not closing together, tried adjusting the repeaters which fixed that problem but then causes the top of the 2 pistons on the second step to not fully extend. Any advice for how to fix that?
Hello! My middle piston after trying to bring the floor back up stays down and i have to hit the lever twice to cycle it back to it working again any idea whats going on?
yo how do you get it to work with buttons? i like the idea of it being able to open and close behind me but with this I only open and close it from the outside? how did you manage it?
can i have some help? whenever i activate it with my lever, the two sticky pistons that are stacked, the lower one just stays still and doesn’t push the second one higher. im not too good with redstone and im totally lost.
so the ground i'm using is kinda staggered, and i want it to look like it hasn't been touched, how would i modify this to make the middle block go one higher when closed?
Having the same problem. The second stair, which would be the double sticky piston facing up is in issue for me. The bottom piston will not extend with the rest of the pistons as it does in your video
I was able to do it, but i was not able to add buttons 😅 but honestly thats okay the levers do the trick and they are still both hidden. I watched your other video about adding buttons Which helped in having two switches, still couldn't figure out the buttons lmao But I wasnt too focused on really understanding it Just making sure everything worked and it did! I built it down into a cave and so now i have a whole hidden room! I'm very excited to show my partner who I share the world with
You could put a comparator coming away from a furnace, then 2 dust coming from the comparator with a repater afterwards, and the repater will only turn on when there’s enough items in, hopefully
when you place down a slab and put Redstone on it, it doesn’t work because only the bottom slab will not work, it’s like placing a block but splitting in half and the Redstone can’t be placed. So the way you can do is place a block and place a slab on the right side top of the block, then destroy the block and place Redstone on the top of the slab.
