The day my mom was diagnosed with breast cancer I saw a cardinal, but my mom missed it. She went on to say she hadn't seen one in a long time. When I was leaving, my mom walked me out and there sat a cardinal on top of my dad's shed!! My dad passed in 2016 and my mom said it was a sign that he would be with her during her fight against breast cancer. Happy to say my mom is cancer free, this summer was 1 year!!!

If you let some of your soda go flat you can freeze in the ice molds. Then your drink not only has a colorful ice ball, but it doesn't dilute the drink. I do this with diet cola all the time.

Cardinal connection: My son passed away suddenly 3 years ago and on the day after his funeral, his fiance found a bright red cardinal sitting on her kitchen window sill pecking at the glass. It's the first time this had ever happened and it continued to happen every day for a week and then slowly tapered off. However, even tho the window sill was not the assigned place every day, there was multiple times per day perched on the back of patio furniture, on the fence, on tree branches in the yard. Also they would pop up in places where the two of them would go together a lot. It just felt to her like he was saying his goodbyes and letting her know he was always there.

I live beachside and the glass vases at the beginning with the twinkle lights....that would look adorable with shells in place of the little pinecones. 🐚✨️🌊 Also, the idea where you melted down the candle to pour into a piece of wood and added flowers on top.....I wonder if you could melt different flavored scent warmers and pour in there... with or without a wick. (For the people who can't burn candles.) Fantastic gift ideas!!! Thanks so much! And, btw, YOU are wayyyyy more than enough for all of us!!!! ❣️ I appreciate you!

I love your channel. It's so much fun. Those fairy lights are amazing. I have an inoperable fireplace in my living room with old set of gas logs.I cleaned it all up. Painted bricks inside and out and the hearth flat black. Then strung those fairy lights all over and around the gas logs. Now, I've got a beautiful, safe fireplace without the mess .

I use the 4-pack of tealight candle holders to hold dipping sauces on each person's dinner plate. I use for tartar sauce, ketchup, shrimp sauce, etc.

When my Mother was in stage 4 of her cancer, she told me she would visit as a Red Cardinal. Low and behold, the morning of her funeral I was sitting outside with a coffee, (her favorite thing), and a Red Cardinal came to sit on the branch of tree beside me. I talked and cried to that bird... if anyone saw me they thought I was nuts! Thank you for all you do making these amazing video's! Blessings,Fran

My cardinal connection was my great aunt Helen. She loved cardinals, and I always got something with cardinals for Christmas or when she was ill. Her own children didn't get her much. She was always so appreciative and wrote beautiful thank you notes.

I would always help decorate my great grandmothers Christmas tree since she was in her late 90's and couldn't do the upper half (she was very short). The last Christmas I had with her I bought a beautiful porcelain cardinal tree ornament and she loved it so much that she had it on a shelf in her dinning room even after Christmas and all through the summer. It was given back to me when she left this earth and now everytime I see a cardinal I think of her. I make sure to always incorporate cardinals because in some way it feels like she is there to celebrate Christmas still. It's interesting that so many people have special connections to those birds. It's very wholesome.

Our cardinal connection is for my dad. He passed away in 2019 and since he passed my mom has been obsessed with cardinals. About 3 or 4 months after he passed, 2 cardinals decided to make a nest in our fig tree in our backyard. And they have been coming back every year since. So when I saw that at dollar tree I scooped it up. Dollar General sold some throw pillows with cardinals on it as well

Cardinal visit makes you remember your love ones who have passed away. I lost my sister and she was only 50. I have a little memorial in my garden where I plant rubrum lilys. The last lily bloomed and at it's base I found a cardinal feather ❤

Shortly after my Dad passed in 2021, a huge red cardinal landed on the porch railing, directly in front of the spot where Dad had spent the last several months of his life, sitting in his rocking chair and watching the world. The cardinal sat there for a few minutes, peeking into our window and tilting it's head back and forth. There is an old saying that when cardinals appear, loved ones are near. My Mom and I feel it was my Dad coming back to check on us. We purchase a new cardinal decor piece every year for Christmas, and I make sure to always have a full bird feeder for the cardinals to visit the yard. I need to hit up my Dollar Tree and find that lantern for Mom.

I lost my Dad a little over a week ago. Reading people's cardinal stories makes me both happy and sad. My Dad loved birds, especially cardinals or the "Redbird" as we called them. I had never heard that some folks like to think when you see one, it's a loved one checking in. I'll be on the lookout. ❤

I don’t usually shop at the dollar stores, but I do own a few awesome ceramic decorations, thanks to you Kathryn. You sent us to a dollar tree a few years ago and I got there on time. It was a gold and silver ceramic reindeers, a napkin holder. They are so pretty, my guests asking about those all the time. My family has a cardinal history. I was really close to my Dad. In July of 2010, he was diagnosed with inoperable liver cancer and given 4-5 months to live. At the time, I was addicted to morphine after several surgeries. Unfortunately, this left me more inattentive to my Dad's health than I normally would have been. He lived about 4.5 months, dying on Thanksgiving Day, Nov 25, 2010. He got a chance to say goodbye to me and my kids, and told me to get off the morphine. The day before the funeral, a cardinal came and stood on my folks' front porch. We always have cardinals around but never that close to the house. It was my Dad. I know it was. Then I lost my Mom 2 weeks before Christmas in 2021. The following spring we saw the first female cardinal that had ever come in our yard. It was my Mom. My house is decorated with a lot of cardinals. Thanks for sharing all of your talents with us! I look forward to your videos and save every one of them!❤

I have always been told that a cardinal in your yard is a loved one in heaven coming to say hello. I actually have a couple cardinal connections. I lost my Dad in 2005, when I was only 14 years old. This year marked the 19th year since I lost him. Ever since I moved into my current home, I've been able to periodically look out of my kitchen window, to see a cardinal sitting in my driveway. I've always said that it was him because it doesn't happen often, usually when I'm at my lowest. I believe that he's coming to make sure I'm okay, and tell me that everything will be fine. My second cardinal connection is actually fresh. We lost a REALLY close friend, back in May, due to a very bad vehicle accident. He was only 27 years old, and I had just seen him the Saturday prior to the accident. I hugged him and told him to be careful, that I'd see him at the next show (my husband does independent professional wrestling, and he was a fellow wrestler), then watched him walk out the back door. He died a few days later, on his way to work. His death hit hard, and I've started to see another cardinal hanging around my driveway since he passed. He was genuinely one in a million. He was the kindest, most gentle, purest soul in this world. He never knew a stranger and literally no one has a single bad word, thought or feeling toward him. He was truly one of a kind, and I know that he's worried about everyone mourning him, so I know that he's visiting to tell everyone that it's okay. 😭

Our family has long associated the Cardinal with my dad. When he was bedridden, he used to love watching the Cardinals outside his bedroom window. He passed at only 58 years old. My dad was a k9 cop, HIS dad a motorcycle cop and my brother went to the police academy. On my brother’s Graduation Day, we were sitting in the auditorium that has floor to ceiling glass windows. Before the ceremony started, a Cardinal started nonstop pecking at the window (this was in 2004 and I still get chills when I think of it)! There were about 10 from my family there, including one of my dad’s brothers there to represent dad. We all burst out in tears! People probably thought that we were NUTS! That Cardinal was there until the end of the ceremony! This completely cemented my belief in the Cardinal and I am comforted when I see them!

For the dollar tree taper candle, if you use painters tape and tape off the base, then dip it upside down into a melting pillar candle in the glass jar, it gives the illusion of wax without the fuss

Let me first say thank you for all of your smiling videos… They are greatly appreciated❤ my family has always believed that when cardinals come to you they are your relatives who have passed away. On Christmas Eve, 2018, my daughter was making a trip far away, and I was worried about her safety. I was looking out my back window, through my sunroom windows, and saw a cardinal flying into the bushes right outside the windows… Then another one, and another one, and another one… Until there were 7… all bright red in color… and they all just sat there in the bushes and watched me, watching them. Thank God I grabbed my phone and took “live” pictures because it was a once in a lifetime thing that I’ve never seen since. I was so worried that something was going to happen to my daughter, but she was fine and she got back home fine. It wasn’t until two days later that I found out my son’s father had killed him self that day. I firmly believe it was my close relatives who have passed away that came to check on me at that very moment that he did it. To this day, I still have a male and female cardinal living in my backyard.

My husband died from head & neck cancer in 2022. He used to spend a lot of time outside grilling, gardening, fishing etc. I sit out on our patio next to his grill & think about how much fun we had. One time while I was sitting I saw a cardinal in my neighbors tree. It was winter so I could easily see him perched on a branch. I did a double take because I’ve never seen one before or since. I watched for about 15 mins, till it got bored w/ me watching it! THAT was a good day, as they say. ❤️

Also, those little fireplaces are my new obsession. They are turning all of my local DT's into DT Plus stores, and I've only found those little fireplaces at one of them. I only found one, but I'm obsessed, so I have been keeping an eye out for them at the other stores. I've never seen those round ones before, but I'm definitely hoping that AT LEAST one of my stores has them!

Hi Kathryn!! Awesome ideas!! I love cardinals. My great niece Lucy was born very premature six years ago. She was in the hospital struggling to survive. I was on my porch thinking about her & praying when I saw a cardinal nearby. When I got up & went to my patio it came with me & stayed awhile. I knew in my heart that Lucy had become a beautiful angel. My nephew, her Dad, called me not long after that & told me. So cardinals remind me of her ❤ You always make me smile & I enjoy your videos so much!! Take care sweet girl ❤☺️

8:32 I never seen cardinals in my yard before but after my mom passed away for a while I kept seeing a pair, female and male. I believe it was my mom and dad letting me know they was indeed together in the afterlife. I actually had a pair of mourning doves show up not long after the pair of Cardinals. It definitely felt like a sign to me. So anytime my girls are outside if they find a Cardinal wing they bring it in to me. 🥰 My mom passed away early Jan. 2022 and my dad passed away Christmas Eve 2011. I'm 32 now. 💛🙏🏼

My husband had cancer. The year before he passed he sat at the window facing our backyard. We had a family of cardinals that came every year, he loved to watch them. Now when I see them it reminds me of him. I decorate my tree with cardinals to keep his memory alive. I love your enthusiasm when you are describing your finds

Think of this Dollar Tree as the "Model House." Do you want wood floors? Yes. Stainless? Yes. Quartz countertops? Of course. Meanwhile everywhere else...Vinyl flooring will do. We'll take the pine cabinets and avocado appliances. Laminate countertops? Fine.

My cardinal bird story: my PawPaw died in 2020 which was very unexpected and the first big loss I ever experienced. My family is from Missouri and we’re all STL Cardinals fans - but especially my pawpaw. He went to every game he could, had season passes and box seats, had signed memorabilia and all the stops. I knew he would come back as a cardinal, but I never expected to have such a powerful connection to them. When I see a male cardinal, I’ll know it’s my PawPaw because I only see them for a split second or a flash of red fly in front of me. My PawPaw was absolutely selfless and hated attention so I know if I JUST BARELY see a male cardinal it’s my PawPaw. Additionally, my mother-in-law was my best friend at died at 56 and wasn’t discovered for 2 days. It crushed me, but decimated my husband. She was the brightest and kindest soul you’d ever meet - like sunshine reincarnate. She was carefree and confident. I’m sure you can see where this is going…. I see SO many female cardinals. They’re LOUD, everywhere and will show themselves looking beautiful or raggedy. That’s her through and through.

I have a special, and recent story about cardinals I think you guys might enjoy. My youngest daughter was born in Jan 2022 with CDH and was born out of state in the hospital for the first 4 months of her life as she needed special treatment and surgery only a specific children's hospital could provide. Relocating was VERY rough as we had an 18mo at the time as well. She was discharged on a feeding tube and was less than the 1st percentile in weight. Not great and we had a long road ahead of us but we were finally going home. When we came home Spring was just starting to bloom and a family of cardinals apparently moved into our bushes in our front house. We CONSTANTLY had cardinals peeking into our house all day. I was told some people believe cardinals are either a sign of or are themselves angels that watch over those in need. Happy to report tiny warrior princess moved up to the 13th percentile in weight and is ROCKING IT. We've even started looking at having her feeding tube removed, possibly this winter or spring. Oddly enough, once she turned the corner, the cardinals moved away and I haven't seen them since.

My cardinal story is that, when my Mother died 8 years ago. I wasn’t able to be there. She lived in Colorado and I lived in New York. After I got back from her funeral, I was sitting at my dining room table drinking coffee and all of a sudden a cardinal landed on my deck railing. It would come back occasionally whenever I was sitting drinking my coffee. Now every time I see one I know that my Mom is with me.🙏🏽

Cardinals absolutely have a special meaning for me. I've loved since childhood and wished they were around where I grew up. I moved out to where there were quite a few of them after getting married. During a lot of my darkest moments, when I was grieving or felt very much alone in my struggles, a cardinal would show up where I could see him or her. It always felt to me that it's God's way of trying to bring comfort in a time of anguish.

My So'oh (Hopi grandmother) gave me a silver bracelet with a red cardinal in a mother of pearl overlay when I was 11 yrs. old. Whenever I see a red cardinal, I think of her.

I wish I had a dollar tree store like the ones you go to I would definitely love cardinal lantern my story with the cardinal is when my mom passed away in 2020 I sat with my brother after her funeral by the pool and I said to him I wish that mom would give us a sign that she’s at peace and that everything‘s gonna be OK and sure enough the most beautiful cardinal showed up and sat right on my wooden fence just looking at us. And ever since whenever I think of her and I pray to her a cardinal shows up in my backyard by my fence.

After my dad passed away, a male cardinal kept landing on my windowsill and tapping on the window until I would look up and acknowledge him - this went on for several weeks. Made me feel like my dad was telling me he was ok! (He was a redhead btw!)

We love cardinals. I even have a Christmas tree topper that is a cardinal. To us they mean good luck and a past on loved one visiting.

In my family, whenever we see a Cardinal. We automatically say hi to the first name that pops in our heads. Of a family member that has gone home. Quite a few time we've all said the same name at the same time. We have had alot go home lately. Thanks and may you have a Blessed day.

Dollar Tree bought Family Dollar and are combining the stores. I also noticed the price changes especially in the double store. The drinks that Dollar Tree sells for $1.25 were almost $3.00 on the Family Dollar side.

Great candle diy’s! When you buy the expensive candle with decorative container like a pumpkin or tree and it burns out, melt the tall white candles (2-3) and refill the expensive holder reusing the wicks like you did. The DT is taking back prices on “necessity” items & some home goods to $1.00 but they are going to $1.50 on other craft items, decor, pet items. I was told by manager at one store near me. The thought is lower thing people need and pay a bit more for those items we can use and it will balance out but helps those on super tight budgets.
