People seem to have a lot of opinions about how I should run my channel. I appreciate the feedback and I will try to use less click bait titles, but this can’t be your first time on RU-vid, right? Please understand how much time and effort I put into make free content before you comment. ❤

Matthew, your fabulous quality separates you head and shoulders from 99.5% of what typically passes for RU-vid "content". I like to think that the audience you attract to this channel appreciates this as well, which makes truth in headlines yet another quality feature rather than a liability!

Matt, thanks for all your great content. And also your investment in LM Studio!!! I 'disliked' this vid just because it seems a little too much of a 'product placement' for me. i'm not likely to use this, but it is good to still know it exists, so thanks for the coverage nonetheless. Thanks again for your work. It's much valued!

You do great video and are a great resource. I automagically post each of your videos to my team. I think if you keep the information quality high you'll be fine. Just don't get sucked by cheap RU-vid tricks like begging for subs, adding comments, pushing stuff to the end. It is almost cliche at this point. I'll end by saying keep up the good work and ask if you are somehow related to Nathanial Berman...because you guys look like brothers.

Thank you for having a "$5" in the description. It's extremely important to me to know which videos are pure marketing. I'll still play them because I want to support you, but I almost unsubscribed a few months ago when your earlier such videos were not obvious. I don't understand how this sponsored video is supposed to help me. There are countless tutorials available for accomplishing this using existing APIs, especially as you mentioned, as well. This includes even self-hosted options. The real question is: how many of us receive more than one request similar to these scenarios more frequently than once a minute? Matthew, please don’t get me wrong: I love your content, I can understand sponsorship, but the more fingers come into the play the more expensive it will be.

Exactly, you you the time to intelligently express what I actually meant by saying there's absolutely no reason to use this service. It's "free" sure, probably heavily rate limited and what do you actually save? The time it takes to write a prompt to ask for a summary of the text? Just silly. There are APIs that allow you to access Mistral at .50 for 2 million tokens. You'd have to be stupid to build on top of this "accelerator", I mean "proxied API request with a prompt in the middle that you saved two seconds writing"

Chris at Gradient here - we actually built models designed to do this at higher accuracy than OSS models - so it's not just an API layer. We should have clarified this on our website but it is designed specifically to perform better for enterprise workloads
@jonausherman5751
@jonausherman5751 4 месяца назад
@@ccubed510 that's interesting to know. however, the frustration is not directed at the tool, but the creator. I for one, only follow him for local hosted tutorials and want nothing to do with anything hosted off my own equipment. His tutorials are of good quality, so it was frustrating to see this sponsor video pop up, in a click baity fashion, when, again speaking for myself, was expecting more of his usual local model based content. Again, thank you for the insight.
@MeinDeutschkurs
@MeinDeutschkurs 4 месяца назад
@@ccubed510 Chris, finding the right customers must be challenging for you. The market is vast, and products seem hard to differentiate. Perhaps specific jargon needs to be developed and filled with meanings to ultimately present everything in a pitch. Whether it's because "the best marketing does nothing if the target audience isn't in the mood," or due to the fact that B2B on this channel comes at the expense of the fan base, which would have expected a presentation/testing of a model, and is only reachable indirectly, I wasn't able to understand it. Whether it's layers, wrappers, or a sophisticated model, show us a video that demonstrates the functionalities "works as intended." If necessary, with 1 million requests at an enterprise level. I'd love to watch the video and look forward to the link.

2:40 It's important to verify that the output of an LLM is correct. In this case, the summary it gave is not. None of those things happened in the first chapter of the first Harry Potter book. That chapter is all about Harry before he entered Hogwarts. Summarization like this isn't really what RAG is for, though. A RAG query prompt needs to match the meaning of a chunk in the document to return something relevant. A prompt that asks for a summary doesn't really fit with that approach because it will look for an existing summary within the document. The LLM presumably knows about Harry Potter from its training data without needing to do RAG and so just tried to answer based on that, and got it wrong. However, the summary given later in the video at 4:33 using the Document Summary function is accurate.

Great video. Very interesting indeed. Gradient is a super solid product. I’m caught trying to rationalize AutoGen, MemGPT, and RAG. What’s the best multi agent / data retrieval solution? Click bait works in the short term but will hurt in the long run. Click bait definitely increase click rates but the quality of the viewership might go down and some long term supporters might just leave the channel. IMO, a channel with great content does not need click bait at all and will be better off long term without it.
