Ikr!! They may know more about offside because they used to play football since they were young and probably were watching football way before we did as it’s a common sport for men more than women. I’ve been watching football for about 3 years know and at first I didn’t know what offside was and that’s NORMAL for someone that didn’t really care about such things before.
This is confusing because it suggests that an attacking player can't be nearer to the goal than a particular defender. The ball cannot be passed to an attacking player who is closer to the goal than the *last* defender closest to the goal. And the video also needs to explain the own-half exception a bit more fully.
That's most cases but also only part of the story, e.g. the pass has to be forward; not from a throw-in, goal kick or corner kick; also, you in fact need two members of the opposing team in front of you, so if the goalkeeper somehow isn't there then it will still be offside if there is only one defender
Eugh you really had to bring the whole "women don't get the offside rule" into this? You could've just said Phillip didn't understand it. Why encourage this sexist joke?
