I had bright colors for a long time. (But we had big windows so it was fine)

In the 80s and 90s when a lot of these cartoons were first created a lot of houses had garish colour schemes like that. Not usually as extreme but closer to it than you'd ever find today haha.

I was wondering about your question number two as well... Correct me if I'm wrong, but behind the door that's next to the stairs is actually what's shown at 1:54, right? What I'm trying to say is that, the door next to the main stairs leads to the room this girl showed at 1:54, which means, that extra room that was showed at that minute doesn't exist because it's not there, is located where the door next to the stairs is at.

Well there actually was a competition to win a real Simpsons house back in 1997. Except the winner was a retired factory worker from Kentucky, and she did not want the house, she wanted the money. So the house was stripped down to look like the rest of the neighborhood.

Is just an average house of an American family.

As an American, this is close but not accurate. The Simpsons originally took place in the 1980-1990 era so this house would have been big by those standards, by modern standards, this is about average

The 1980s and 1990s were a different time, namely lower house prices. This aspect of the show hasn't aged well now. The simpsons are meant to financially struggle, if this was created today they'd be renting a 2 bed apartment, own 1 car and probably be renting....

@@lw3646 It was a different time but not THAT different. A huge house like this has never made sense, even in the 80s, for a family with 3 kids where only one parent works - and in a low income job. I think that might be why they gave Homer a promotion in the earlier episodes, because his job used to be really low ranking and seriously made no sense how he could live in that house, drive 2 cars and support and feed 3 kids and a wife. After he was promoted it made it SLIGHTLY more believable but still, not really, even in the 80s. Anyway, it's just a cartoon I guess...

I'm a big fan of the rumpus room. As far as I know the location of each room can switch depending which episode you're watching.

In the past, the cartoons draw with handmade, and with the same clothes is more faster to do, too

Jade Marshall Thing is, it switches up in some episodes, so it’s a bit more difficult to pin down an exact layout.

Well yes, I don't think there is a precise lay out as it does alter slightly between episodes, I suppose some of it alters depending on the scene, for example if Bart wanted to look in his backyard his bedroom will be facing the backyard but if he wanted to look out the frontyard in another episode then his bedroom will magically become a front-facing bedroom. But I still got an idea of how the house is inside and I did build it on the Sims 2 some years ago. The only thing I get confused with is the little corridor bit that leads to the garage and basement bit.

The bathroom door was on the side in Moaning Lisa too. Also, that episode started with Homer banging on the bathroom door telling Lisa to hurry up, but the house has three bathrooms and each one seems to have all the facilities required. It was an early episode so it gets a pass though.

Sometimes the basement door was by the garage (across from the bathroom) but other times it was next to the stairs going upstairs
