I'm part of the 5% I guess. Beat this one back in the day without too much trouble. Level 4 was a bitch though with some of that jumping, especially on the skeletons and being unable to tell what's a safe place to land and what's not.

I’ve beaten a handful of AVGN’s top ten hardest NES games, granted half I’ve never played. (TMNT(9)CastleVania(8), BattleToads (2)) Could never beat this one. Could never get past dinosaur. Just didn’t know how. My power move was every weekend mom let me rent a game so Friday’s were also McDonald Day so still have vivid memories of Happy Meals which = small new toy and new game to beat. I think I rented it for a month before giving up! Just weekends! Love going down memory lane
I've never beat the game, but I played the first level so many times that I could beat it in my sleep! Barely made it to the 3rd level or so, can't remember, it was many years ago
Proud to say I was one of the few kids that managed to actually beat this nightmare of a game. NGL, could not have done it without the accompanying Nintendo Power issue

That was awesome, u make it look so effortless, this was one my favourite games but for Sega, I would always die in the mall trying to jump on the lollipops until one day I realized u have to jump when the sticks are horizontal

I was 8-10 Years old and made it one time to the museum. It was very hard. As a german kid I didn't understand what to do in level 1 (purple items). I just tried to get through the levels. 😁
Just coud beat it once, using a guide magazine when I was 7/8 yo. Challenging as hell, it is a disgusting experience. The mechanics are totally crap, and the traps are unfair without a clue.

Yes, I agree, this is a very hard game to speedrun due to the platforming but it also looks nice, just the last stage isn't the beat for apeedrunning but overall is great.
This game is mediocre at best, the controls suck, the platforming is seriously flawed too. It’s not so bad when you get used to the game but it’s still frustrating as hell. I take my hat off to ya for having the courage to speedrun this game!
I was just kidding. You seemed to freak out at some guy asking that in the live chat. There's no continues to collect and even if there were it wouldn't make sense to continue in a speed run. It made me laugh when I watched it
