The Simpsons, Futurama, and How to do a Crossover Right. 

I wish the animated crossover would've done something as ambitious as the comic. Maybe if they made it an hour long special instead of an average 30 min episode.

I think the Simpsons writers were afraid of confusing Simpsons fans that don't watch Futurama. Someone who would buy a Simpsons comic would be nerdy enough to watch both shows. I think the tv version is ok. I haven't read the comic though.

Those rabbits if you know groenijg history are a parody of his first strip/work called life in hell. Marge was originally meant to be a rabbit character, and her ears were under her hair which is why it's so wild

I haven't read much of the futurama comics, i have read a lot of the simpsons one, which were underrated knick-knacks that actually understood what made the classic era so special, it's a shame bongo shut down in 2017 though, great video!

There really should be an etire crossover season of Simpsorama. There just isn't enough time to get it done. There are hundreds of characters in both that would make great interactions. Like IDK Smithers and Lrr and Milhouse and the gelatinous blob. Leo Wong in Apu's store. You could almost plop two random characters from each and it would work. Sideshow Bob trying to find Cubert and Dwight for something they did wrong

I think that season 26 is definitively when the Simpsons “jumped the shark”. I mean, later in the season, there’s an episode where they get actually abducted by aliens, and it’s not a treehouse of horror, not a dream sequence, it’s an actual canon episode plot. It’s a shame seasons 21-25 probably won’t ever get dvd releases, I think they deserve them far more than seasons 18-20. Sure they’re not the funniest, but they just have a good Simpson-y vide (and they do get a laugh out of me now and then)

I appreciate this criticism of the animated crossover. The Star Trek: Strange New Worlds x Lower Decks crossover is praiseworthy for the same reasons, that the crossover functioned in-plot and to serve the story.

Honestly better than The Simpsons and Family Guy crossover in my opinion. But, yeah The Simpsons and Futurerama crossover is pretty decent.

Futurama should get another game since there was only the ps2 game, which sucked and is rare ashame because it would make a great game I mean could you imagine a hit & run style video game where you explore New New York as each character? You could focus on both driving and platforming like What the simpsons hit & run did but better you could even use the ship to go to different planets for missions but make it so you can explore the headquarters and ship like what you could do in the playstation 2 game where you could go inside all of the iconic rooms like the conference or living quarters maybe even the office's and lockers all could be either enterable or interacted with by pressing a button

We need a Maggie and Nibbler interaction and Nick Riviera and Dr Zoidberg interaction

I got to say those comics are pretty amazing and they are Yeah like you said it's in the norm when it comes to Futurama. Those would be great to see as episodes in themselves honestly, But it's cool that there's comics with such great crossovers like that.

There was a follow up to Incredibles. It was a game called "Rise of the Underminer" where you take control of Frozone and Mr. Incredible. It's pretty good and the story was solid.

Thing is, the Simpsons actually have a red car alongside the pink sedan. It’s mainly Marge’s car, but this car does look like the sedan except it’s red. Maybe a weird mistake on their end.

I actually got the book years ago and read it, and I agree with all your points! I also find it unfair that The Simpsons Futurama crossover is only a half-hour when they could do so much with an hour while the Family Guy crossover was an hour long but they didn’t do much and should’ve just been a half-hour.

13:10 Actually I think you might have missed something. The Simpsons family has two cars. Homer does have the pink one. But Marge has well actually that one's confusing but I will point out that the car you see there looks just like Marge's car like the same design and everything. I believe the car is red but now I'm like wondering was it orange? Like I think it's some episodes it's red and some episodes that's orange or maybe I'm just misremembering because it's been so long but yeah I do know they have two cars so I think maybe you might have missed the memo there and not realized perhaps it's Marge's car and not Homer's

Great Review Horrid! They should've used mom as the villain! Man that would've worked way better. I remember back in late 2014 to early 2015 of fox promoting the hell out of this crossover and I got excited. But halfway through I got bored as shit and dissappointed as I watched the premiere. Like you said, the potential was there,but it was wasted. Also Fry and Bart have similar chemistry. There's another trinket of character traits that couldve led to funnier jokes and writing or a better plot. Again,thats just the beginning of many problems that have occured with this overhyped special. It is wasted potential,boring,and could've been executed way better and it just in short feels like a typical boring modern simpsons episode with futurama characters in it. That's it really and it wasn't very good.

It is a shame that Simpsons and Futurama got their crossover animated episode after the quality of Simpsons dropped instead of when fans actually wanted the crossover to happen, during the golden age of the Simpsons

I actually didn't really like the Simpsons Futurama crossover at all, it just felt bland. I remember when the Simpsons Family Guy crossover came out, Seth MacFarlane said that in all these crossovers, everyone always turns out to be best friends, all good friends and chums, and it just sorta made things boring. And while I don't find The Simpsons Family Guy to be any better, I did like how pretty much no one liked each other. So when it comes to the Simpsons Futurama crossover, I just found out boring how everyone was good chums, I feel if all the characters were fully their characters, it probably would have end up with the Simpsons family and the Planet Express crew not really liking each other that much, maybe not like fight to the death like between Peter and Homer. But eh, I just accepted while enjoying Simpsons and being a Futurama fan, this crossover wasn't for me, and that's okay.

this sounds like modern Simpons.

i actually like the family guy crossover. yeah it doesn't treat the simpsons as, "THE simpsons", but lets be real here they haven't been themselves in years. however if you look at it from a "family guy episode" its one of the best in my eyes. like very few cutaways, not a lot of gross out, the only blood is when homer and peter fight [which makes sense as you would get bloody in a fight]. like as a family guy episode it is a soild 9/10 as simpsons episode its like a 4/10 or a 5/10 its not great but their have been worse.

I'm honestly so glad someone else can just get past the blinding fan service and just realise that's its quite bland. I've never liked how it seemed as though the Simpsons writers were so smug about how futurama 'copied' many of their own tropes.

The Golden age??? Dude the show doesn't have said "golden age" . It just is even today. If anything these shows have become more offensive and funny. People seem to get pleasure out of saying stuff like "man that show was so offensive" when the reality is they are more offensive than ever. Just a way to make one's self feel like a better person or something
