@Trace Finlay Essentially, it's MMA, but also mental training to get you used to the idea of "cheating" so you can survive if you're attacked on the streets. I've been out of it for a few years now, and I've done some more research on it. I believe the original Israeli Military training wasn't a full fledged martial art, but rather a fairly short course on mindset and intensity, to make the people going through that course good soldiers. I might be wrong though, Krav Maga has had an urban mythology built up around it, so there's a good amount of conflicting info. The main thing (aside from fighting technique of course) that my teachers taught, was "Run if you can. If you can't, neutralize the threat by any means necessary. Do whatever you must to get out safely" Needless to say, American Krav Maga is fairly different from the original lol Hope this helps!
Good point. This makes it look like there is no defense against groin strikes. But, you can just twist your hips to the side so that the blow hits your thigh or put your leg in front of your groin so that the blow hits your shin instead, or put your hand in front of your groin.
Sad? It's a secret identity. It means that it's so successful that even the Israel military doesn't know that the infamous El Barto is really Bart Simpson. Kind of like how no one recognizes that Clark Kent and Superman are the same.
@@jameschristopher2540 pretty much, and because they took a joke and recycled it in a way that it is unfunny now. The Hans Moleman is still a classic tho.
@@xstatic-ow5mz. It's one of the funniest moments from the recent Simpsons. Is it appealing to lowest dominator? Absolutely. Is it still funny? Absolutely.
Mitch Irwin kicks are not realy effective in a real fight shotokan karate is best for streets or karate shotokan kobudo than you learn even use katana nanchucks sai bo And tonfa so and by taekwondo you show you back to Many times to the opponement so he can kicks you in the back Everyone who has do every style of karate knows karate Jesse enkamp knows karate bruce lee knows karate kung fu taekwondo wing chun
Early in the series in first season or something Bart joins a Karate dojo, so yes he does know karate. I think he only attended just 1 time but that's still something. At least he knows the most important thing in Karate that you're always supposed to hold your other hand back down on your hip, so that makes him a karateka in my book.
Sure some have studied krav maga ,but won't tell some even studied akiddo which i think is just good for fun but worthless martial art all around , but yeah shotokan is somewhat common MMA
but a kick in the balls will have any man on the ground moaning and groaning clutching his sore aching balls saying oooooh ooooh myyy baaallls my balls over and over in a raspy groan lbs
This was the most random scene for me in a Simpsons episode. If I recall correctly, Ned Flanders took the Simpsons to Israel, so he could make Homer acknowledge or respect Christianity only for Homer to not care about it. This scene was just out of nowhere and unexpected for me. I'm not saying it's bad. It's funny. I'm just saying I never saw it coming.
Bart was messing around with things he shouldn't touch. The girl working as security was there to tell him off but typical Bart just ran away. Eventually he came to his sense and asks why he's running from a girl.
Was it season 21? Probably didn't make it that far back when me and my sister were binging through the show towards the end of the 2000s. I believe we burned out around season 17 or 18.
Well done. You were able to not only remember the video, but also able to quote it. Good boy. That'll be all for today. Treat yourself to a cookie and have a nap.
You know when you say "no one", that just says how much you LIKE this dorky weakling Bart simpleton. (Simpson, I was just saying that for how much I despise that stupid brat)
I took some basic krav maga a while ago as my school's required self defense training. One of the few things I remember about it was how it seemed like every technique concluded with punching the other guy in the throat
Because of the nature of what it was designed for; subtracting an asshole out of here with a low skill level, as some else already explained. Arts designed for killing don't seem to do well in controlled environments like UFC.
"Isreali Karate". She's not technically wrong. From what I've read, Krav Maga cherry picks the best moves of various martial arts, including karate. At least, that's part of it.
It was made by a Polish Jew in WWII that was an Olympian level athlete for the Jewish resistance, it was made to be fast to learn and effective with a low skill floor, but with the caveat that you go into the fight with intent to kill.
Krav Maga is a crash course for Israeli soldiers to override their basic fight or flight instinct. It is NOT a martial art. It just teaches to always jump into danger rather than do the sensible thing and run.
That would make it Israeli Jeet kune do. Karate is its own system. Jeet kune do is an amalgam of what works from other styles, while discarding what doesn't.
"Hey, isn't that the Arc of the Covent?" I may have gotten that last word wrong but it cracks me showing shows like that are still managing at least some classic jokes like that
@@lesgalloiseries Except Israel is surrounded by enemies on all sides, had a population of only 9 million, mandatory military service, and if Israel were to ever lose a war if would most likely mean the end of that nation compared to the USA that can actually afford to lose a war and still be all right. And to top it all off it is the holy land.
@@rpd3327 Pretty sure all that is the Israelis' own faults for constantly pissing off their neighbors and claiming dibs on the holy land. Perhaps if they were more congenial things would be better, but alas it is not so.
Krav Maga is the style of fighting I believe most effective in the modern-day. I mean, all fighting disciplines foster mental and physical strength, but Krav Maga was devised for defusing violent situations and is taught to be used ONLY IF combat is unavoidable.
@@kevinlipps2817 yeah this isn't really a fighting style you take if you want to just scare off somebody. This is a fighting style you take if you really want to hurt the other guy.
As a Brown belt in karate I can confirm I had amazing pain tolerance and was great at getting my ass kicked by other martial arts. After getting a blue belt in juice jitzu I can also confirm that tying all other martial arts up on the ground is a delightful sport.
@@vampire361 absolutely not. The difference in grip requirements would turn it into “now try that on a live, resisting opponent”. There’s a difference between simulation and pressure testing
I have the Simpsons playing on a loop during the first two hours of my work shift, and I just skipped this one. I just felt, like…. really, REALLY uncomfortable watching this episode. Fascist fucking state.
This was back in the day when people still belived krav maga was the new bad ass system that would win against any other system easy. People got this belief mostly because of krav maga instructors heavy marketing at the time as some sort of super defence system. In reality Krav maga is an ok self defense system designed to give a normal guy a fighting chance against a criminal, or to quickly teach a soldier some basic hand to hand combat. But krav maga always lose 9/10 times against any real fighting system.
It's still a really good self-defense system, it just has its weaknesses like any other. Some of its techniques are superior to that of other systems, but other systems have better ones. It's best to practice a wide variety of systems & use the most effective techniques from them all.
@notproductiveproductions3504 that's why you practice more than 1 style. You'll learn that some techniques are better. In some situations, 1 style will work & in others another style will work better. That's why it's called MIXES martial arts.
In fact, in Japan, ken-jitsu and ju-jitsu existed originally, and karate became popular to complement them, so it's just that hitting techniques are mainly practiced. Ju-jitsu (judo) also has atemi (punches and kicks), and karate also has grabs and throws.
I would like to clarify anyting that's martial arts is just as good but it depends on how you use it when you mix your most favorite technique with one or the other what do you want think?
I took Krav Maga for 2 years, and i wouldn’t consider it a martial art, more like a training discipline for real world situations, yes, there’s a LOT of groin, eye picking/racking, and a lot of “dirty moves” but hey, you gotta survive somehow
my sister kicks me in the balls all the time smh it's her go to.. my mom has kneed or tapped me in my nuts a few times when she was really mad, and kneed me while we was playing around wrestling on the ground when she was on top of me and had her knee between my legs right below my balls while i was in tight gym shorts.... It always makes clutch my balls and start whimpering when i get hit in my testicles.. She said a few things about guy's "vulnerable hanging precious family jewels" before and after the knee in my balls that was so humiliating lbvs I hate how they know to go for that spot... I always would skip past parts in movies that I was watching with my sister where a guy got hit in the balls so she wouldn't know how bad it hurts.. it's so embarrassing how they have me moaning and groaning on the ground clutching my balls whimpering "oooooh myyy baaalls.. my balls, oooh my balls" over and over
@@AzazelAlarickthen you can just ask them if you should do the same. There are plenty of other points that can be hit for a similar effect. But before even considering any of that you should talk to someone about your abusive family. Perhaps like a teacher or something like that.
@@joaquinpalillo (No estoy gritando, uso mayúsculas porque me parecen bonitas) ¡EXACTO! GRACIAS VIEJO.
that's because Yael Naim isnt really an actor, she only appeared in 3 shows: The Simpsons, Grey's anatomy Season 7 (her single Come Home that is) and *Spoiler Alert* Episode 6 of Switched at Birth
Krav Maga is an Israeli martial art. Developed for the Israel Defense Forces, it is derived from a combination of techniques used in aikido, judo, karate, boxing, and wrestling. It is known for its focus on real-world situations and its extreme efficiency.
