I was literally having that exact conversation a couple of weeks ago with my older brother because for some reason Tom Arnold got brought up and I started making the joke about how he's a big guy good with the knots and then I started doing the Rosie O'Donnell version of clang clang clang goes the trolley And my brother was like why did they make a rocket to go to the Sun the world was going to explode anyways? And I simply said so they can make fun of all those lousy celebrities like Tom Arnold and Rosie O'Donnell and then I started to do the sing-along joke again because it clearly was so funny the first time I had to reprise it
I do love that Tom Arnold voiced himself in this! They couldn't get the real Pauly Shore, I guess he was too busy with that Futurama episode instead lol
Well to be fair Homer is not only responsible for destroying the world, but the man is a compulsive eater. He also is prone to making accidents so he definitely would’ve gotten the rest of his family killed.
You'd think they would have contacted Lisa sooner if she was meant to be on the spaceship. Also I like that Tom Arnold was still planning on making a show with Pauly Shore even though they were heading to the sun.
When I saw this episode for the first time many years ago, I was so irritated that Lisa said "mom" without hesitation when told she can only choose one parent to go on the ship. Also, yeah, them not contacting Lisa never came to my mind.
Since the rocket was not guarded, and only Homer and Bart were surprised that it flies to the sun, all these celebrities must be really suicidal. Kind of sad.
“MOM.” “…Wow. I mean, I know it’s not so hard a choice, but… he’s your FATHER. And he’s standing RIGHT THERE. At the very least, doesn’t he deserve the courtesy of PRETENDING like you had to think about it?”
Given Jimmy Carter's reputation (as "history's greatest monster") you'd think he'd be boarding the other rocket. Must be because of all that charity work
What makes u give him that title? He was bad but he was just like many of our other presidents. He was with the rich... I mean even by Chomsky's standards, he was bad, but one of the least violent of post WW2 presidents.
@@NoOne-kr4jc I was referring to another Simpsons joke. The one where they unveiled the Carter statue, a citizen calls him "history's greatest monster" and then they riot.
original english when homer and bart escape from the spaceship: (they very calming while they faces inflate by the space) latin spanish when homer and bart escape from the spaceship: (psychedelic screams & moaning intensifies)
Considering in one of the episodes earlier seasons 10 episode 18 ( i think) where homer literally stop lisa from going to heaven Homer deserves that, and much worse
Spike Lee probably for the unbridled racism. Also the shitty movies. Sometimes those qualities intersect. Like a movie where black kids burn down an italians pizza shop for posting pictures of italians and not blacks. Did they do the right thing? DID THEY? They did not.
They should have had Nancy Kerrigan in line for the spaceship to Mars instead of Michelle Kwan, though the movie I Tonya leaves a lot more questions than answers. Whether you believe Harding had absolutely nothing to do with the attack of Kerrigan or was the mastermind, you would agree that was a great film.
It’s Treehouse of Horror X, specifically the segment, “Life’s a Glitch, Then You Die,” which focuses on Homer forgetting to debug his computers of the Millennium Bug, and causing society to collapse, which is why the rocket to Mars with Earth’s best and brightest was set up in the first place.
@@AdrianFahrenheitTepes Maggie was allowed to go with Lisa and Marge because she's a baby. Her being Kang's daughter was part of a different Treehouse of Horror episode. TOH 9 I think.

Hearing the dvd commentary, the writers regretted putting Al Sharpton and Spike Lee on the rocket to the sun which no doubt may had to do with the fact that Mel Gibson and Mark McGwire are on the rocket to mars (This was a few years before Mel's racist tirade against a cop and Mark admitting to taking steroids.)
Today, on the spaceship to the Sun, should be: Zack Snyder, Bill Gates, Lady Gaga, Cristina Pedroche, Paris Hilton, Vladímir Putin, Mia Farrow & Dylan Farrow, Kristen Stewart, Sam Pepper, Maïmouna Doucouré, Graham Norton, Pedro Sánchez, Jong-un Kim, Christopher Nolan, Justin Bieber, Sofía Vergara, Trey Smith, Yoko Ono, Michael Bay, Isabel Coixet, Miley Cyrus, The Kardashians, Chris Brown, Brianne Larson, Irene Montero, BABYMETAL, Jordan Peele, Michael Christopher Martin... ...and many others...
Please add extra reserved seating for Paula Deen, Roseanne Barr, Ellen Degeneres, Jimmy Fallon, Will Smith and Jaden Smith, James Corden, Elon Musk, Jeff Bezos, Pete Davidson, Leonardo DiCaprio, Tom Cruise, and Taylor Swift
I'm not gonna claim Spike Lee is a saint or even that pleasant of a guy but is his artistic output which includes Do the right thing or 25th Hour that much worse than Michelle Kwan and her figure skating? How many people actually care about figure skating as opposed to movies and how do you measure one against the other. Or is it more because Spike Lee is usually outspoken in his views to the point of making others uncomfortable while Jordan and Kwan don't rock the boat and go with whatever is considered acceptable? I don't know but the writers kind of gave themselves away as to what is considered acceptable behaviour.
Today’s version: Ooh there’s Mitch McConnell, Sean Hannity, Jon Voight. Ok but there’s Mike Pence and Betsy Devos, Lindsay Graham?, Tucker Carlson!? AAAH DONALD TRUMP!!!! What the hells going on?
@@annafowdy yep nowhere to the lie. They apologize to Tom Arnold for having to put up with Roseanne. They apologize to Al Sharpton when he became involved in BLM. I'm pretty sure they also apologize to Ross Perot. The only thing Spike Lee got was critique on his movies. And Rosie O'Donnell was Donald Trump's arch enemy. Literally everyone on that ship including Pauly Shore not forgiven except for Tonya Harding. But even that movie I Tonya probably softened it for her.
