They’re obviously just really strict parents who don’t believe in privacy unless it’s for themselves. And that’s why they have a living room to themselves. The 4 bathrooms are just for funsies 🙃

to me, this is giving that random studio apartment you rent when you wanna live near college but not IN college and you end up living in the weirdest looking house that is being rented one person by room

Okay, So I came up with a back story for the house. Originally, this house occupated a rich man who was a party animal type person. The house had 2 bathrooms, a large walk-in closet, a bar, an outdoor party zone, and a kitchen for his personal chef to cook food for him. After he moved out a pair of lesbians (because of the pride flag being the lesbian pride flag, I Think, I could be wrong) And there adopted teenage daughter tried to renovate the place, only to realize they didn't have enough money to Redo the plumbing situation or move the back door and now they are currently trying to save up enough money in order to finish the renovations and fix the mishaps from They're ambitious, financialy ill planned renovation. What does everyone else think about this idea? Good or bad back story for the house? ( Also I think the house looks fun and really good )

Parents with 2 problematic teenagers moved to a house and designed it so they have their private bathroom, bedroom and a living room, meanwhile the kids have a no privacy bedrooms and a bathroom.

Build challenge: 3 bed two bath with a skill room. The only neutral /black and white items allowed are windows, doors, and lights.

I love this challenge. I’ve only seen a couple people do something like this and I wish more would. It’s just such fun chaos…except when the patio is the patio. 😜

Here's what I thought for the background story, it's two siblings or two friends who lived in dorms in their college years and one majored in art (hence the little instrument in the first room) and the other majored in engineering and loves decor. They're both super supportive of each other so one came up with designs/ color scheme and the other was in charge of placement, but because they were used to small spaces that's why their rooms are in "odd" areas, and chose to have a bigger bathroom because they finally didn't have to share! They have lots of friends so they invested in a bar room, not so much the kitchen since they kinda snack a lot ( hence the snack bin) but they'll experiment every other paycheck. The big room is intended for relatives more because their parents are movie lovers, and they also want to make sure they're really comfortable when they come to. They're rarely home because of their careers but have parties almost every weekend so they have easy access to bathrooms. Also the shell looks awesome! I love when you do modern/contemporary/industrial styles 🤩🪴

this layout reminds me of one of my college living setups. there was like 11 of us in a 5br farmhouse! Nothing like a room divider, a clothing line + sheet and an available plug socket to create an impromptu bedroom and/or another "kitchen"! good timessss 😆

Great video! For the backstory/house layout explanation: I honestly just assumed the two "no privacy" bedrooms were guest rooms- especially the murphy bed one since it is set up to double as a living room situation. By the end of the build I was thinking the place was owned by a lesbian (the pride flag used) couple, who have grown up kids if they ever had kids. They didn't need a huge kitchen or dining room, just enough of each to cook and eat, so they chose to still buy the house even though the only kitchen is tiny. The small bedroom with a computer could act as a second office if both of them work from home on the same day. The hot tub idea still works in the desert if you account for temperatures plummeting at night. Plus you could turn down or off the hot tub's heater to use it as a pool with water jets instead. The showers are there to wash off the sand cuz it gets everywhere. And two guestrooms with three tiny bathrooms feels like they get a lot of guests. Although, the laundry room and outdoor shower/hot tub bathroom are only separated by a door, so they could count as one big indoor/outdoor bathroom. So a social lesbian couple makes sense to me. The only things I'd add to sell the backstory would all be in the unused area of the backyard- a grill area, maybe a separate bigger pool, and a conversation pit. Also the glass bit of awning makes sense as both a little sun shield if it's tinted as well as "if it ever does rain in the desert, i would want an awning to stand surprised under". If one added a pool the outside showers could also be there to rinse off chlorine from said pool.

Possible Backstory: It's a house that was converted to a Home Goods store. You come here to buy stuff for your home. However, the market has taken a downturn, so to keep from being homeless the owners are living on the lot as well.

17:10 you could do a shower . You know , outside is sand so you will be dirty . That type of shower that is on swimming pools 😅😅 20:20 you could do book door , you know that mystery doors 😃

🍀 I think this was a young couple who was in the middle of converting a run down house into the home of their dreams; they’d already installed the bar they wanted and changed one of the old bedrooms into a luxury bath and were in the process of removing the old bathroom when tragedy struck. One of their siblings died unexpectedly and they suddenly had to take custody of their nieces; they moved the office stuff into the master bedroom to create space for one of the girls, then gave up their dream walk in closet to be the new living room so the older girl could have a space to stay that didn’t require her walking through their bedroom. It’s awkward and messy, but they’re doing their best to make it work.

This house definitely makes sense! It’s kinda traditional local old house that’s turned into airbnb rent house for a big company that’s why there are a lot of bedrooms and bathrooms! you definitely did the job!!!!👏👏👏

For the kitchen. My house actually has a window into the family room. The family room used to be a part of the backyard, but the owners before us built the room and kept the window. It kinda looks like the Island Living open windows.

Imagine the kids not knowing that they're missing out on not just a hidden movie room, but also an endless supply of ice cream! 😂 (adding to the backstory yk?😅) Grammarly helped make this, can you tell?😅 according to Grammarly, it should sound joyful, assertive, (?), and informative. 😂 Also, I was fiddling with their AI feature, and I just have to share this😂 I told the AI to make it more detailed, and this is what it came up with: I'm currently safeguarding the following text for you: "Isn't it exciting to think about having a clandestine ice cream machine in the secret movie room for parents? okay i've been thinking about the backstory... John and Lucy purchased this house sight unseen for their family of 4, they immediatly began renovations, they tore down the wall to the bathroom near the entry way to switch rooms with the kitchen to make more of an open concept for their kitchen and dining needs. however the contracter fell through so they are stuck in the middle of that bathroom reno. Their teen son likes to fall asleep watching tv so they let him use the murphy bed until the new living room furniture arrives. Their youngest child didn't want to be on the opposite side of the house from everyone because they get scared of the monster under the bed so until the family gets a new contractor to tear down more walls they hung up curtains to give her a "room". The family is also planning to tear out the toilet in the laundry room that leads outside since they have 2 kids they go through a lot of laundry

Each bathroom has a use. The larent get the big one obviously, the kid has to use the laundry one because laundry is one of their chores, the exposed one next to the door is for visits, especially the ones they don't like and want to leave soon, and the one outside is to clean yourself after going in the hot tub

ur videos always inspire me to build 😱 (and inspiring me to actually play the sims is an achievement in itself)

Window in the room is not weird at all! In my country, some of us have a window in a kitchen so people in the living room can see them cooking. TBH it’s depended to the owner too! In my house, the room that had window suppose to be reading room but she renovated to a kitchen : ) with the window that still there. I had visit other home and seem like some of them also have a window in the kitchen too.

Maybe they bought that house at an auction or as a handyman special and the building permits keep falling through. Why was it so weird to begin with? Who knows. Maybe the previous family had very unusual taste 🤷🏽‍♀️

To me the backstory is giving: friend group of college students/young adults rent a house from a DIY-house-flipping sleazy landlord and can’t get out of their lease once they see the wild layout, so they’re just trying to make the best of it. 😂

Could you build a holiday home inspired by the first airbnb in a random location? Eg randomly generate a city and then put that in airbnb and thats your holiday holiday!

Backstory: student housing! In the UK they turn dining rooms into bedrooms and such to squeeze more occupants into the building.

YESSSS THIS IS MY FAVORITE CHALLENGE!!!!!

I feel like this how was bought by a flipper who was planning to rent it out room by room. So they build as many bedrooms as they could for max profit but later found out that local restrictions required a certain ratio of bedrooms to bathrooms so they had to pin them on last minute to comply.

Perfect house for people with ibs or who are pregnant or just generally need the loo a lot haha

My theory is that this house was built in a VERY nice lot and so the mayor prohibited the previous owners to do major renovations so the owners started to do crazy renovations in order to make people not buy it forcing the mayor to demolish or sell the land to someone to build an actual normal house. And that's why the rooms are all over the place. (I hope it makes sense lol)

A lot of The Sims players could literally work as interior designers.

So, my idea for an open bathroom is that you could put this talking toilet here... and the sim who was renovating the place befriended it and despite changing the concept, decided to never get rid of their friend. That's my best take.

If it makes you feel any better about the laundry room bathroom situation my boyfriend’s sister’s house that her husband whose a construction worker built is the same way. The guest bathroom also is a laundry room that has a door to the outside and the door has a window. Also the two bedroom bathrooms have no doors or curtains so privacy apparently doesn’t exist…

I'm thinking cult. The members are limited to the main living space, kitchen, and laundry room. The leader occasionally chooses one member to use the bar with them as a reward. All the other rooms are just for the leader to use. Maybe they use the computer to hack for money, but it and the tv aren't connected to the internet, which is why the leader needs their own.

I would say it’s giving designed by an alien who has only moved to earth recently and doesn’t understand the way floor plans work yet, but that seems like a lazy cop out backstory lol

🥒 There are not many options for plant emojis... I think this was a fun build. But for the back patio bathroom, that would have been the perfect place for the Island Living shower and one of the various pee bushes. But that's what I would have done. Were you aware that the Snoey Escape Komorebi Shrubbery isn't easily accessible? It only shows up if you select the lot as a Wedding Venue... under Wedding Venue items. And it's the only pee bush with an alternate swatch. I might have to try this challenge out, I love a good challenge.

It's the kinda home where secretlty alienes pretending thier humans live to do a human study, and they have no cosept of how human homes are layed out.

I’m thinking that this is someone who is trying to create “bedrooms” to rent out cause they’re greedy - but because they’re shitty landlords they refuse to give up any of their own privacy so all the rooms with doors are their own rooms and all the open space is for their tenants EDIT: *or* it’s parents who renovated their kids rooms to be fun extra rooms after they went away to college, but the kids obviously cannot afford a place of their own or even get a job in the current job market/housing crisis, so they had to move back in with their parents - who quickly had to add in a shitty bedroom/bathroom cause they refused to get rid of their big ass bathroom or bar room
