this might be a very unpopular opinion but i feel like EA used the new infant life stage in order to add hype around another mediocre expansion pack. the fact that growing together is it’s own expansion when it could have been bridged with another like parenthood for example just goes to show it’s another unimpressive cash grab

I don't think it's an unpopular opinion. Everyone knows EA only knows how to money grab. I like some of the gameplay the pack added but it should have been included in the update.

a warning to folks thinking of storing their photos or paintings from reference in the keepsake boxes. these frequently bug and turn either white or black and somehow loose their connection to the custom screenshot. The only safe place to store them is in a sims inventory. household inventory eventually breaks photos as well. as a legacy player i have lost far to many captured moments to the household inventory or storage box

I'd noticed this with the household inventory with my legacy family too 4 generations worth of photos were just all black, i nearly vried but then i lost everything in the infant update so... 🙃

You can't set in law's family dynamic but they specifically say in the trailer that the husband has a difficult relationship with his father in law... soo like wtf? People should be making a bigger deal out of it and no one has said anything.

Honestly, I never buy a Sims 4 pack unless its on sale for 50% or more. All Sims 4 packs are not worth 40$ and 20$ is already more than enough, but it's the best we're going to get. I also do think that the new expansion pack should have been on sale like the others for spring break.

personally i believe a lot of this pack could and SHOULD have been added to base game, like the infant pieces, in base game theres no playmat or changing table in base game. The milestones, traits and characteristics as well. Honestly im very disappointed in EA on this one. I’ll most likely buy it when its on sale because $40 is not worth it for something that should be in base game. Thank you for being so honest about everything! love u lots !!

I feel like this should have been a game pack. There’s some good features but it doesn’t seem like there’s enough actual gameplay to call it an expansion pack. It seems like the majority of it is pop up notifications regarding the traits and milestones and one off interactions like bike riding. I do like the features though so I’ll probably end up getting it once it’s on sale

I like your honest opinion on Growing Together. 😊 I'm probably saying this, having never experienced new DLC for the Sims, until The Sims 4, but I actually really love Growing Together. Don't get me wrong. I do have a few qualms with it(like no new relationship dynamics for stepparents or in-laws for example), and I can understand how someone who has played the previous Sims games would be disappointed with the gameplay. And I will admit, as a builder, I was disappointed that there wasn't many lots to work with without bulldozing. An extra area would've been nice. Still, I think Growing Together worthwhile in my opinion. I love the extra infant interactions(I know at least quite a few of it shouldn't be behind a paywall like the changing tables that couldn't have been base game, but oddly wasn't), I love the new milestones and the fact that your sims have already have a few milestones when you start playing, I love the CAS items, I love the new family dynamics and compatibilities and I love that how well it can cross with other packs, especially Parenthood(Yes, I know it would feel like a Parenthood 2.0 to many). It has its problems and I acknowledge those problems, but overall, I still think Growing Together is still worth playing, whether you choose to wait for a sale or not. 😊

I agree, this is definitely more like a gamepack than an expansion pack. I am so dissapointed in the World, there is not hardly any collectibles or grills etc. Like they normally always have everywhere, there is nothing to do, through most of the vast areas and the lots are spaced too far apart, so you dont have any real neighbours.

My wife surprised me with the pack on Sunday, she watched me clean my mods folder for days & I guess she wanted to see the outcome so we downloaded it & I do like the new gameplay changes. I do feel like it should have been base game but that’s just not going to happen with EA & I have accepted that sadly. I also have a lot of lag between the interaction with the infant in the sims. I have to reset them a lot which throws the baby on the ground lol then my sims just stands there. I got a few mods to fix issues but I would definitely wait for a sale to buy this pack. Yes you miss out on a lot & gameplay changes now but you avoid the bugs. Allow EA to fix their pack first, save yourself a headache & a good laugh as one of my nanny’s dragged my infant across the living room to her playmat mat 😂😂

I haven't gotten the pack yet but just by watching people play with it... in a way it seems the new baby's are easier without it yes you miss out on milestones and teaching them stuff but without the pack they automatically can crawl sit up etc. The new items/teaching moments seem fun but seems with how often they need to eat/sleep leaves little time to do them without cheating needs even without those extras just basegame new baby's are still alot of work.

I'll tell you what, I'm obsessed with this paxk and what it adds. it's like the last puzzle piece to everything they've been adding lately. my sims feel unique and affected by the world and their relationships FINALLY. I'm not mad at the pack at all, I'm having a damn good time with it! I mean sims 4 is still broken and it's frustrating but I'm more willing to deal with it because I'm having fun lol

I’m not sure if you’ve not known or just haven’t experienced this feature but there’s a new NPC sim to arrive with the expansion that invites himself around to help you and stay at your house named Kyle Kyleson. I would love to see a video with you meeting him!

I just feel the pack is almost everything we already had in BG and multiple of packs; just with a new skin and a few new mechanics that is in no way ground breaking. I feel the pack is only worth $5 for the new mechanics (which unfortunately have become more annoying, like the barrage of extra pop ups that executes the chain of conversation that your trying to get to while game lags terribly - I hate having to pause game every time just to get them to talk a certain subject).... $35+ goes to the hype and rehashed reskinned objects.

i'm actually kind of mad the family dynamics don't go for the whole household. like, i couldn't set one for my toddler sim and her step dad. step parents in general in the sims 4 needs overhauling tbh

I think this is like a souped up parenthood, but it seems like a poor expansion, I agree. I haven't purchased it yet because I am always disappointed by the gameplay in the Sims 4's expansion packs.

I’ve decided that this pack really is all about gameplay and build and buy for me but I’m enjoying it for the most part overall… I’m just not happy that some features are trapped behind a paywall, it’s definitely not right! I only bought it as early as I did because I really wanted/needed the preorder extras since I don’t have all of the packs lol. Otherwise I would have probably waited till it went on sale since the infant update was so extensive. Also, awesome overview and I love all of your videos but I do have one complaint. I mean, I know you work and have a life but you really don’t put out enough videos lol. I always enjoy watching your videos and laughing at your humor.

There's 2 things I like from the expansion.. tree house and discovery traits. The rest don't improve or change anything for game play, and some are just annoying after the first time. I didn't get buyer's remorse, because the two things I like are enough to justify the expansion because they're that good. But not worth full price. Wait.. KYLE!!! I forgot.. he's worth the full price.. My new favorite townie sim in the game.

For burnout, it's specific to a certain type of activity. My painter sim got creative burnout and didn't want to do any activities related to creativity for a while. If you force them to do it they get really tense and the burnout gets worse. If you do another type of activity like physical or mental the moodlet goes away more quickly. You can also just ignore it and sleep it off, but it comes back more frequently if you take that road.

Great insight of this EP and I kind of suspect it just adds things that couldn't justify the EP status and price tag and turned out to be true. I do want to point out that the camcorder is not featured in the trailer. It wasn't shown in the trailer nor any press release said it is included, just their editing trick that looks like a handheld camera style in the trailer that looked fancy. So they are technically not lying to us to be fair.

Alot of the new interactions/family dynamics and the child aspirations should have been added ages ago.. like even before base game was free. And the confidence thing is just as aggravating as when they changed so you didn't have options when child sims ask questions that affect their responsibility etc that area now you get only one or mb 2 options its silly in a way it forces you to raise your child sims only how they want when it comes to how those questions affect those categories I mean easy enough to raise responsibility and lower emotional control etc but still I miss the options.

The personality and conversation preferences is my favorite part of this DLC, but unfortunately it barely works at the moment. I tried making an aromantic fisherman, but simply put he doesn't seem to mind flirting or physical interaction, which is pretty disappointing.

Maxis also added a new bug that the keepsake box has. Photos that are put into the box will come out blank. So, having the photos as keepsakes has been rendered useless. Maxis keeps rising to occasion when it comes to ruining this game. LOL.

The self discovery feature is good on paper, and I'm interested in trying to figure out how each trait could be gained, though in practice some traits like Active and Family Oriented will get offered to your sims pretty easily and frequently. At times it's as annoying as the constant ask to be best friend prompt. Maybe they'll tweak it in an update. I am entertained by the stay over feature more than I thought I would. I have a single sim living in a one bed tiny home and Mortimer Goth asked to stay over. I thought why not, then his whole family turns up, including a new infant! No one is feeding the infant so it's crying all the time, and to make matters worse they're now arguing and fighting constantly amongst themselves and my sim is getting embarrassed by the arguing guests! The story just writes itself

Yeah some traits are going to show up a lot....I was pleasantly surprised when my sim wanted to become jealous after they caught their spouse cheating though.

I so agree on the world ... I wish they would switch back to the open world like the Sims 3 💝 it's ok on the whole but agree for those who didn't get the pack ahead of time because Alot of the bugs minus baby shoes clare somewhat fixed with both added ... Babies being base game no , there is nothing that comes with the babies outside of getting this pack ... Upsetting but we know how they work ... Hopefully they will fix these in later patches .... It's tampering with my sims that are already in the world & that's annoying

Everyone comments on how lackluster the world in Growing Together is. I have to wonder how many have actually been to San Francisco. San Francisco sucks. All the little extras that Simmers wanted to see in this world that we didn’t get, like more places to fish and the ability to swim in the water at all, are not things that you can do there.

@@jasminebennett5526 You can cancel a temporary stay with the calendar. I actually had discovered this while having a temporary stay myself. I think all you have to do is go to the calendar and either edit or cancel your stay. I hope that helps.

Thank you all! My game had been glitching since the stay over and when I canceled it it finally worked again. Idk if it’s a bug or just my game but glad to say I can finally play again! And less sims in the space! Lol

Half of this should have been in other packs. Toddlers/ parenting pack- kid bikes, changing table. Tree house. These are all stuff that should’ve been in parent hood and toddler stuff. Movies should’ve been in the movie hangout. Growing together should have focused on the bounds , aging, new interactions. A better place with new places for families to hangout. Add something like a party lot- skate park- (not ice skate, like we have. An actual skate park 🛹) add more interactions like a drunk neighbor knocking at the door and us having to call the cops to arrest him. Give us a bat to beat death with and if we win the person he tries to take lives. Give us the trip option, so we can trip our siblings. Horses, cars, trains. Driving classes. Unemployment when we get fired. It’s so much to do. Fun and funny things. But we’ll keep getting things that should’ve already came I. Other packs. That’s how it works.(oh and if you lose to death, he takes you to. So it’s like take your chance and battle death? We love to design our houses , make that a job! We can go do projects like that. )

In my opinion Sims should've made regular normal things base game, the Sims would've felt so much more fleshed out in doing so. Packs should be about supernatural, extra furniture, cas/aesthetic or maybe even some wacky careers like astronaut where you actually go to space etc... Im just saying, this pack, parenthood, seasons and maybe even cats and dogs should've been in the game from the beginning. edit: Even most things in highschool years should have been base game to make teens more interesting, the actual high school should have been a pack yes, but they could have made the high school so much more interesting and developed it more without having to add basic teen stuff that should have already been in the game

After everything that I've seen from Maxis, I'm done with purchasing new content. I consider it if they become free, maybe. Unless they actually fix everything, that could also change my mind, but I won't hold my breath. I've been waiting for DLCS to be repaired from the beginning. I've seen very little done, if anything, at all.

i wasted $53.95 on this pack so now i have disabled it it should of been a game pack not a expansion pack and this should be called a cash grab pack the pack it self is buggy i find
