For the paper bags you have to go into game settings and disable Eco Lifestyle NPC voting or you can disable Neighbourhood Action Plans entirely. Loving this let's play btw ♥ EDIT to say you can also buy Patchy the Strawman and if you communicate with him and ask for gardening tips it will improve your gardening skill, you can also search his pockets for seeds, and after enough interactions he will come alive for around 5 hours every day and basically become an unpaid help in the garden, in my game he even helps around the house too ♥

If you have Get Together installed, you can create a club and set activities to gardening, animal care (maybe even fixing and cooking) and gather them every time you need help. The only thing is to collect all the produce BEFORE you start the gathering, otherwise the sims will collect all your produce. (for those who don't have Horse Ranch pack, I use this trick quite often, it's really fun, you can even create "free" maids or make people fix stuff for you if you don't want to do it yourself)
for the paper bags, try going into the gameplay settings and disable the NPCs being able to vote on the NAPs and then use the mailbox to petition for the we wear bags action plan to be revoked. this has worked for me on prior packs this bug happened in i hope it still works xPP
I just use a cheat to manually set the NAPs when a neighborhood has an annoying one. Specifically, the sharing is caring one. That is the only one I can’t deal with at all. It’s possible to place the eco lifestyle board on a community lot if there are no houses in the neighborhood.
If you’re sick of the “de-stressing concoctions” use the same method to disable the self-sufficiency NAP. Or use the MC Command Center tuner to disable autonomous “brew herbal remedy”
just use the cheat by shift clicking on the mailbox to instant repeal plastic bags it’s not that hard 💀 can’t believe Satch calls himself a professional
This happens to me all thr time! So shanice and umber became good friends through social bunny. Once you add sims as friends they can message and post stuff about you and just randomly gain and lose friendship with you even if you dont check thr messages
This explains why I was getting notifications of becoming good friends or, very randomly, enemies with people I was just beginning to build a friendship with!
You may have to rehire the ranch hand every day....mine is a complete jerk that knocks over my garbage can and breaks my kids dollhouse every time they come. Thinking maybe might kill them so I may can get less of a jerk.
Even more helpful (well I hope it is lol) info, if you build a pond using the terrain tools, you can collect water from it to stock your water supply up when you're using off the grid lot traits. Also some ceiling lights came with Horse Ranch that are off the grid too ♥
It happened to me before getting the Snowy Escape pack but you're right, so many townies have Japanese names after the pack came out. Idk whether they messed something up in the code or what 😂
I noticed this too. Every ranch hand or butler I get has a very obviously Japanese name, even if their body/skin tone isn’t what one considers typical Japanese

I don’t mind the Japanese names if it makes sense &/or they’re from the Snowy Escape world but I usually just use MCCC to either edit their names or edit the townies completely cause townies are usually a mess fashion wise anyway due to all the custom content I have lol. Like bald dudes with orange bangs and green beards 😂
I have a mod that deals with this, but apparently the issue is that City Living, Island Living, and Snowy Escape both require a certain number of townies of certain ethnicities. Not sure what the mod changes them to, but according to the mod info with these three packs installed the game is set to generate a *minimum* of 40 Japanese townies, 14 Islander townies, 10 Indian Townies, and 10 Moroccan townies. Individually these numbers aren’t terrible, but combined that is 74 townies that the game requires to be a specific ethnicity. But there’s more. The game only counts homeless sims for this requirement, so if story progression (or a mod or you) gives any of these sims a home, it sees a need to generate a replacement. There is a more detail on the mod page, but that’s the highlights. It’s called “Rebalanced Townie Generation for Sulani, Mt Komorebi, and San Myshuno” by Enkidu if anyone is interested.
I stopped adding any sort of shelving long ago becuase sims love to put dirty plates on them out of sight for some reason. Then there's an added bonus of them being invisible until you go into display full walls mode.
I just disable NPC voting and then use the mailbox to put 4 (or 3?) NAPs in place (that aren't too annoying). If the full amount are in place they can't change without being revoked.
What is this 'Horse Pack' of which you speak? I, for one, am finding that the new 'Nectar Making Gameplay Pack' is working wonderfully. Also, the horses are nicely animated..... .....
Petition to start calling the rabbit hole "equestrian center" (horsey race hole) instead as it deserves, bc equestrian center is far too fancy and it's not worthy of that. also for LP suggestions, maybe start the house out with the floor plan you want drawn on the ground using terrain paint first and start adding rooms bit by bit ? maybe shanice shanice has been drawing the floor plan on the dirt with a stick and daydreaming about her dream ranch who knows lol
For the best result in competitions, your Sim should be in a happy or confident mood, and the horse should be happy. My mare is shy and aggressive, her skills are not best, but she took the Master award in all competitions at level 7. I think that Shantal did not increase her breasts in vain, the judge should evaluate both !!))
I'm loving the horses so far! They're very cute :D EDIT: Your Sims will have fun horseriding if you make them like horseriding in CAS lol under activities :D

Excuse my misplaced anger but… I’m actually fucking tired of this game. I spend more time troubleshooting than actually playing! Every other time I launch ALL of my packs are missing, I’ve never been able to actually make a save file because I constantly have to reinstall my game.This is after about 3 years of playing. I waited YEARS to buy it because of all the missing and broken features. I have it installed on THREE separate computers and the same thing happens on each device. So the game is completely broken. This channel is the one of a few where the truth is actually told about how ridiculously broken the game is. At this point I wish I could get a refund because the hundreds of dollars I spent on it has gone to waste. I tried playing today after fixing my game for the hundredth time and it froze when I went to the gallery then when I relaunched my packs were gone AGAIN. I’m over it! I have played this game since sims 1 and to see how it has been utterly ruined by greedy idiots is infuriating! They lost a loyal customer of 20 years and I hope more people leave this community. I don’t even want to watch the vids anymore but I actually like this channel. It’s just triggering lol
Satch, I think you should make Shanice date the Mysterious Rancher and steal all his money to build a Ranch and then lock him in a basement and torture him by feeding him spoiled leftovers

NAPs are hilarious and add flavor to gameplay. Your sims are supposed to vote what u want enacted. Actually, there's only one NAP that's annoying/game-breaking that I will never allow to be enacted, and that is Sharing is Caring.
yeah turn off NAPs in options for no paper bags or other annoying shit yeah definitely the thing about only registering when sold from inventory is a bug they need to address, it forces you to play in only one way which is so dumb also that ghost keeps changing colour im sure that isnt meant to happen on a positive note i do appreciate that it seems that when the horse knocks over the pole thingy you have to place it back manually, its more realistic than it just teleporting back One question, does the ranch hand help with cottage living activities? or just horse ranch stuff I found a mod that removes Snowy Escape, Island Living and City Living names for newly generated townies
When I want to make the paper bags disappear I hold shift and click on the mailbox. Then there is an option to deactivate. And love the always funny video's, very enjoyable 😂
10:19 this right there is something I find very disappointing. I thought it was a fun idea to make the sims have to go through harder and harder competitions to unlock the next one but instead you can suddenly enter everything after partaking ONCE. Another simple gameplay feature that they just chose to exclude. Like they were THIS close to getting SOMETHING right but noooo
Actually, that's just something that happens when you can't compete (in this case, Feisty had already competed once), though I'm not sure why it does that. If Satch returns to the Center with Feisty the next day to compete again, only the intermediate version of the competition he won will be unlocked. :)
I hope this gets patched soon, but there’s actually a glitch where horses won’t play with the horse ball without giving your asking sim the “snubbed” moodlet. When this happens, you need to delete and re-buy the horse ball.

That backwards reach bug happens in EVERY PACK. I wanna know why horses can warp through walls and everything else. I wanna know why ranch hands quit without notice. WHY do my horses refuse to stay put and WHY are there no horse mounting objects that keep them tethered outside the old saloon? And if you use MC command center you can get rid of NAPs
I just turn cheats on and right click my mailbox to choose "repeal" on the paper bag thing and they other sims no longer have those bags on their heads. Super easy
Also i have an idea for the outside animal area for the horse to sleep in its bed you could put the bed under a roofed in part thats near the cow and chickens i domt knoe if that would work but it might look nice and you could put the horses feeder under the roofed part and extend the house when you have enough mkney
0:30 disable neighborhood action plans, or using the UI Cheats Extension mod just right-click/remove the action plan from that little menu in the bottom right. De-stressing concoctions are part of “self sufficiency”, paper bags have their own heading. Disable those two and the pack becomes way, WAY more enjoyable
13:28 they sure will. You’ll have an easier time doing a yard sale on your own property than a random street sale somewhere else in the world. Selling wine this way is much, MUCH more profitable but not as fun. I opened a general store and use the Get to Work stuff to sell it out of a general store with a little tap room and grocery store around it.
The sims 4 is honestly 1. Insulting, 2. Embarrassing compared to the previous games. But we keep buying their ridiculously overpriced content so they keep on making it! Why fix it if it's broke if the costumers aren't
I hope I'm not making too many comments, Satch, but the Irish RU-vidr, Call Me Kevin, made a video recently where he exploited the Horse Ranch animal parties that you can have. Part of the money used for starting the party hires an animal caregiver and if you do well with the party, you'll get a cash reward, so it could be a free service then... and yes, the animal caregiver comes consistently unlike the ranch hands. lol Kevin also made a Get Together club with "Care For Animals" as an activity, so that helped as well.
im pretty sure u can use he mail box to get rid of the paper bags, idk how to do it on pc because i play in console but when i cheat click on the mailbox it allows me to instantly remove the weird eco lifestyle things
You can change neighborhood action plans with the mailbox by either voting or cheating by shift-clicking on the mailbox and auto-removing the "we wear bags" plan. What I personally recommend is to then fill all of the plan slots by auto-adding ones that don't drive you insane lol. Townies can't remove the laws you place so it settles the matter permanently lmao (do for each town)
You can disable the Eco Lifestyle thing in the settings. Yes I did that too and they were still wearing those damn bags on their heads!! I don't know if you need UI Cheats for this, but if you shift-click on the mailbox you can disable them wearing bags.

One thing I've noticed about the ranch hand is you have to keep hiring them every week or so. It's a bit silly. I am also super upset that selling nectar to the store and Crinkletop doesn't count towards the aspiration, I wasted 80k points before I realized.
If you shift click on the mailbox you can cheat away the naps you don't like. Then go into settings and disable townie eco lifestyle voting. I usually just give them naps I like or find amusing. Do not choose foodies unite that one is very glitched.
I love how I immediately got bored with the mini sheep and goat after like 2 minutes of playing. I straight up sold them. Cottage Living animals is superior.
The horse ball is bugged. Just buy a new one and it will work for a little while. Then that one will bug. So you need to buy another new one that will work for a bit...until it bugs. Etc., Etc., Etc...
When switching from smoking cigs to vaping I stopped coughing constantly. I would like to quit vaping but the gum gives me the hiccups and the patches never stay on so we have been lowering the niccotine in the vape juice we buy - but I have no clue right now what I am going to do with my hands once down to 0 nicotine.

The bags on your head is one of the Neighborhood Action Plans, for some reason your game thought the horse ranches needed it, you can use testing cheats on and the left shift and click on the mailbox to get rid of it, I honestly don't know why they ever put it in the game, it's just annoying cause you can't see any of the sims, also with testing cheats on you might see sims that visit you or that you visit write something on some kind of drafting chart or something, it's normal not a glitch and I think it indicates that they have updated certain stats like having a visitor or a relationship update, I always cheat remove the bag thing in my worlds.
Walking in on each other could be fixed if you built a washroom or outhouse and placed your toilet in there separate from the tub, but I do wonder if you'll keep this the way it is because you're a silly sim torturer. lol :)

Omg my ranch hand is unreliable. I got a cleaner so the ranch hand could focus on animals but the cleaner gets to the lot, shovels poo and never cleans the house! My horses will randomly play with the ball but not when it has low fun and not if i tell it to. I also have a horse that keeps starving despite being stood next to the hay thingy which is full!
Glitch or not: if you stock one nectar cabinet and then buy more then the additional nectar cabinets will already appear pre-stocked. I was trying to separate my nectar bottles by stage of aging
