I'd love it to be Horse Girl regardless of gender.

I would love if they could find a way to combine lot types too!! Like finding a way to split a lot between business and residential so you could make a storefront with an apartment on top and have it function!! Even the modding community has deemed this an impossible task for them to do because of how certain code is so difficult to work with without needing to be rewritten, so even if it takes a while for EA to figure out how to do it without it being either a daunting task or involving a complete internal overhaul of how theyve coded lot types ill be happy 😂 as long as its something we get to see as a feature

@@bsparrow955 I think in some native folklore (I'm not exactly sure which tribes, I want to say Navajo but I could be wrong) horses are said to be healers in some ways, so since the sims team is apparently working to have some native rep in the expansion it would be a good way to include some folklore / culture imo!

I agree. I also think they look so much better than the ones in Sims 3 where it took hours to remove the saddle and the horse was depressed. LOL I am looking forward to this.

They’re like giant muscle dogs and a lot of people seem to forget that they walk on their toes and animate them like human legs. They also animate them to move stiffly which is weird. Red Dead’s horses are one of the few well animated horses I’ve seen in video games but I guess it makes sense for those games since you’re on horseback a lot.

@@vanguardiris3232 To be fair, I'm neather a girl or ride horses anymore, so I don't really fill any criteria of being a horse girl. I just love horses and I find calling myself a horse girl very funny.

Exactly the same things as Strangerville. Don't let them fool you. They are reselling the same Strangerville CAS and build buy at a higher price. You already have everything in this traielr, except the horses. This should have been a game pack and be located anywhere else. Imagine an Eastern European pack with old medieval castles and horses, or a Andes (Latin American Mountain) pack, or even an Australian pack with a different spin on the cowboy pack but now in the Australian desert, or New Zealand with all the Lord Of the Rings Aesthetic. Much more worth it.

⁠​⁠​⁠​⁠​⁠@@thevikingbear2343that’s not that true It’s definitely an extension of Strangerville in terms of like you could probably travel to the area of strangerville in 1-2 hours from new Appaloosa. but Strangerville is too military and science heavy to have any real western association, but it makes sense that it would have western influence on clothing style and furniture wise from being somewhat close to New Appaloosa. However, Strangerville doesn’t have any build items that are western, and CAS doesn’t really either. Horse Ranch has indigenous culture inspiration and it’s not going to be the same vibes as conspiracy hub Strangerville

Cant you just not do the story? I have a sim family living there for a good sim year now, since I'm not actively progressing there's almost no infected or plants.

I have a save file I make copies of with the finished Strangerville storyline and the ocean all cleaned up in Island Living. I love the Strangerville land aesthetic, and I like having my aims live there without the weirdness.

I wanted something new. We already have Strangerville for cowboy things. It really makes me think this pack is not worth the price, because I already have everything cowboy from Strangerville. You could have made a horse pack in Latin American plains, Latin American Mountains, New Zealand, Australia, Eastern Europe, Mongolia, Tibet, Canada, etc.

@thevikingbear2343 Okay well.. I don’t see anything wrong with the world choice that they made, but it would be cool to have other worlds based on what you said for the horses, I doubt there will be multiple worlds though but it’s not a bad idea.

Im hoping that even if the pack flops function-wise at first (fingers crossed it doesnt, but when hasnt a pack been still completely buggy even after being released) that this will raise the standards in the gaming industry for how inclusive content should be created. You should be reaching out to organizations within those communities to help you properly represent them, as well as provide help or compensation in return for it instead of just have someone on your research team figure it out themselves and hope it works. EA making this decision is already such a huge step in the right direction for inclusivity, and the fact that they’re providing representation to native Americans especially is so incredible because of how deeply underrepresented those communities are

I totally agree that the vibes are different enough for this to be a separate pack (and I'm hyped for it), but I feel like that's more about the cultural setting and the amount of content planned for horses than anything else? Like, we did already get livestock in Cottage Living. And I think there's not such a strong delineation between livestock and crops in smaller family farms elsewhere in the world. My grandpa grew up on a dairy, then became a farrier and married my horse trainer grandma, but throughout their entire lives they were also always growing crops to supplement their income.

I genuinely don’t know the difference and I’m happy with what they’re doing :) they’re giving us a lot with the horses!

@@recordtapesbackward I don't have any expectations, high or low. I played with plastic horses instead of dolls 50 years ago. Never grew out of it. I know there'll be bugs that never get fixed. Played long enough to know that comes with the territory. The whole game's a mess.. I don't even care.

@@recordtapesbackwardlet people enjoy things. You can have genuine criticism of faults we know about but don’t rain on other ppls parade when none of us have played with the pack. The bugs may be excessive, or they could be minimal. It’s okay for people to be excited.

Nectar making is straight out of Sims 3. This seems to have a lot more than EA has been putting in game packs. By that logic, all their expacs should have been game packs.

@LulaMae21 I know it was in Sims 3. I've played it. However, they introduced a similar concept in eco lifestyle. My point was that it doesn't offer a new game play feature, only a feature presented in a different way. An expansion pack is meant to have significant game play advancements on the base game. Where a game pack introduces a few new game play mechanics. By that logic, this pack is better suited as a game pack. There may be more gameplay than shown in the trailer that could change my opinion later. But my current opinion is based on the trailer as is.

@@recordtapesbackward I think it will be. The only times the Sims didn't make recipes base game is when they were pack/gameplay specific. Like canning, fine dining, and festival food. Most other foods were made base game.

We’ve had hearing aids for a little while now. One of Kayla’s sims from her not so berry orange gen had a hearing aid.

new world, new furniture and new cas, new lot types, plus horses take so so so much effort to make as well as all the CAS options for them. definitely an expansion pack, would've been butchered by being a game pack.

Yea, I mean no sims 4 expansion pack is worth 40 bucks in my opinion because the bar is literally in hell, but this one seems like a particularly egregious example

@@yellohh6504 idk, i think it would be better as a gamepack, they added those things that also come in game packs, like dining out and wedding stories, but they didn't add any new gameplay. gladly going to get this when it goes on sale. that's my personal opinion, but i know a lot of people are super happy about this pack and don't mind the price, and that's perfectly okay too!

@@yellohh6504 they don't take a ton of effort to make, ea is a mega corp with a big team. If it was a smaller company than sure, but its not. The sims 4 as a whole is a very limited play experience just by how they've built it. This pack seems like it really wont have a large impact on actual gameplay. It will be entertaining for a couple of hours and then probably never used again for most. I'll be glad to be proven wrong, but from what they've shown and said, I don't expect much.

My brother-in-law almost died from a horse riding accident. He's a firm believer in, and advocate for helmets now. Just like with bicycles and motorcycles, we have the technology, and do not need to put ourselves at senseless risk. Having this represented is important.

although they could have had horses in the cottage living pack they wouldn’t have been as fleshed out. plus it gives us another world (and who can complain about having more world option) as well as new representation. i feel like if horses came out with cottage living they’d be a absolute buggy nightmare (praying they aren’t in this pack)

I would have expected sheep and goats in cottage living more then i wouyld have expected horses.

@@saramason8362 I agree. Cottage living is very cottage CORE, which somewhat ironically doesn't seem to feature a lot of horses. It's more prairie dresses, picnics, jams and jellies, and smaller self sustaining homesteads, not big huge barns and ranches like this pack.

@@saramason8362 because this whole pets and farm/ranch content was just one pack in Sims3 for 30$ and now they’ve split it into 4 packs for like 140$. Different worlds are nice but not for that increase in price.
