Broad strokes is a form of sinful judgment that makes things feel easier for a person but by it we wrong our neighbors by denying what is actual true, right, and fair. It is a favorite weapon of the flesh, making us feel we have understanding (and control), but by this we actually forsake real understanding, wisdom, and righteousness.
