No one in this world can be like her People are arguing sadly they don't know what a great legend she is Lata ji has sung 8000 songs where as chithra ji has sung 25000 songs Asha ji has 2 national Chithra ji has 6 national I wish in words I could express how great legend she is There is no adjective which can express her greatness.

Hi , Kangana ji I totaly agree with you , no one can match great legend Chitra ji . Because she is not just a great singer who have given thousands of unforgettable sweetest songs , and who have recived highest national awards with hundreds of other prestgious awards . But along with that she had prooven that how humble some one can be even after achiveing such great success , She have so many good qualities which she is living with for entire life to proove herself a good human being , along with her great achivements , like being pleasent for all with a smileing nature without being diplomatic n gealous with anybody , respecting not only her great gurus but everybody whomsever she meet with natural humble nature . She never do tall talks and claims of herself being greater than others . So even considering greatness of all other legends ....She is different n greater person in all measures.......Thank you.....

इनके गाने को हमने जब भी सुना, "कहना ही क्या " भी। मन प्रसन्न और दिल खिल सा गया। आपका धन्यवाद इस आवाज की झनकार, लचक व आयामों पर प्रकाश डालने के लिए। दक्षिण की हहराती नदी का प्रवाह, उत्तरी मैदानी नदियों का स्थायित्व, मंदिरों की झनकार और अध्यात्म की गहराई सभी एक होकर बाहर निकलती हैं - हमारी संस्कृति की पूर्णता वाली पहचान हैं वे, उन्हें मेरा नमन, उनकी आवाज ही पहचान है - सही गाया था उन्होंने और अपने लिए ही सदर्थ था। स्वागत है चित्रा जी का उत्तरी भारत में पर हॅंसी वादियाॅं गाने के बाद भी इनको हम नाम से अबतक नहीं जान पाए, ये आश्चर्य है।

The comparisons are unfortunate and unwarranted. All singers are legends in their own right.Even Chitra ,being the humble person she is,will feel embarrassed by these comparisons. Lataji,and Ashaji are at least 40 years senior to Chitra.....and started singing,when technology in the Hindi film music industry was nascent ,and takes,and retakes, were the norm.There was no digital music technology,then, as of today,when singing and song recordings are far more easier. As far as the Southern music industry is concerned,where Chitra has her base, how can one forget Chitra's illustrious predecessors....stalwarts like S.Janaki,P.Susheela, P.Madhuri,Vani Jairam, P.Leela etc. who were also legends in their time.

I don’t remember there was ever a competition between them. They all are/were excellent singers who never required any assistance from technology. If I have to pick one song of each singer, I would pick- 1. Aapki nazaron ne samjha pyaar ke kaabil mujhe - Lataji 2. Jaayiye aap kaha jaayenge, ye nazar laut ke Phir aayegi- Ashaji 3. Tum bin jiya jaaye kaise - Chitraji Why can’t we enjoy their songs rather than thinking who is better!!

चित्रा जी की आवाज में एक साउथ इंडियन टिपिकल टोन है जो हिंदी बेल्ट में स्वीकृत नहीं किया जा रहा , इसीलिए उन्हें अच्छी आवाज के बावजूद भी, उसे गाने हिंदी में कब मिले यह सीधा हिसाब समझाने की जरूरत नहीं है l

लता मंगेशकर की तरह कोमल स्वर में तो बीसों गायिकाओं ने गाया है और अनेक बार तो अच्छे-अच्छे स्वर पारखी भी यह नहीं जान पाते थे कि आवाज़ लता मंगेशकर जी की नहीं, किसी अन्य की है। फिर, यह भी सत्य है कि लता मंगेशकर जी की आवाज़ में जो जादू 1950 से लेकर 1980 तक की दशाब्दियों में रहा था, वह समय के साथ-साथ ढलता चला गया। ऐसे में केरल कोकिला चित्रा जी का स्वर मौलिक, अलौकिक एवं अतुलनीय लगता है। वैसे, मलयालम भी अपने आप में बेहद मधुर और सुरीली भाषा है। इसके माधुर्य का कहीं कोई मुकाबला नहीं!

Being a South Indian, I know how great Chitra is. She's a staple voice of us south indians along with SPB. But comeon, you don't need to degrades legends to appreciate someone. According to me Asha is the greatest singer ever. She can sing melodies, can sing romantic, naughty, club, item or any other. The range Asha ji has no body has. She's extremely versatile

Who told asha ji has highest range? Then why she refused to sing Hindi version of "amba shambhavi"? She herself told only janaki can sing like so. So they used janakiyamma for that song. Janakiyamma is the higher ranged singer. But never denying that asha ji is legend. She is magical but truths are truths.

I am a fan of Lata N Asha as every other song was sung by them throughout childhood.... but Chitraji has the cleanest background .... In my opinion her voice is the sweetest no match and her voice has versatility like no other ... Please don't argue like Colgate is the best 😂 You cannot stop somebody liking coal powder ! You tried your Wonderful ... I hope praising someone for good n clean work is not a crime ... One beautiful thing about Chitraji... She used to say other singers are better than her ... ये मज़बूत गायिका हैं, मगर इनकी आवाज़ एक specialized आवाज़ है। बहुत सारी कहानियों के पात्रों को निभा नही सकती । बहुत बारीक़ आवाज़ है, जो versatality के मापदंड पे खरी नही उतरती । ये आवाज़ मुजरा, कव्वाली, ग़ज़ल, सूफ़ी, vampire, डिस्को, cabaret और इसी तरह के कई गीतों पे नही चलती ।

She has also sung a few songs in odia movies and bhajans....those songs are so soothing in my childhood days that i used to listen them again and again.....i still listen a lot of her songs whether its a tamil , telugu, hindi or any other songs, her voice is just enough language koi bhi ho farak nahi padta....one of her just a die hard fan!

Suno suno suno... Ye bahot accha gati hen isme koi shaq nhi but Lata ji jaisi singer duniya me koi nhi... Kahin bhi nhi... Samajh me aaya... Lata ji ki awaaz koyal se bhi meerhi hai... I don't think any other singer can sing Dilka दिया jalake gaya, ना जा o mere hamdam, Dil dhoondata hai with the same perfection as sung by Lataji..every singer is unique per se...can Chitraji sing Lambi Judai with the same pathos as sung by रेश्मा जी? Can Chitraji sing the song अभी ना जाओ chodkar with the same effect as sung by Ashaji?

Even I used to think your way. I used to consider Anuradhaji much above Alkaji.However, when I listened to Jo Meri Ruh Ko, Apake Bajuvome Ham Savarane lage...I instantly changed the perception I held too long about Alkaji. It's foolishness to compare these maestros to one another. Lataji, Ashaji,Alkaji, Chitraji, Anuradhaji are like luminous stars, comparison isn't prudent!

chitra was also a very versatile singer but because she has sung mostly south indian songs and very few songs in hindi film industry therefore she did not get recognition in hindi film industry we have only heard few hindi songs from her hence she might have created records but still she remained behind the curtains of hindi film industry but because of language barrier we could not know her real voice but still whatever songs I heard in hindi were mind blowing, therefore she stands into the category of all hindi female singers

This respect lady is really a great singer. We admire her, her art and her devotion. But there is no challenge to our Lata Didi. Our Lata Didi is Godess of melody world and songs. If we go on listening our Didi's songs we feel as if we have roamed whole heaven and gandarva world.

ये तो सही है कि चित्रा जी बहुत श्रेष्ठ गायिका हैं लेकिन लता , आशा से तुलना करना उचित नहीं फिर भी ये भी सत्य है कि लता जी का अपना स्थान है , आशा का अपना स्थान है , लता जी के कुछ अमर गीत तो ऐसे हैं कि उन कि बराबरी तो छोड़िए उस के करीब भी कोई भी नहीं पहुंच सकता। आशा भोंसले के भी कुछ गीत ऐसे है कि बस वो आशा ही गा सकती है ।

Talented people are Incomparable. But since awards select the best of the best, there are many different factors under scrutiny to find the rightful winner. Voice quality and singing talent isn't enough to top the game. There's much more to it and not everyone can comprehend it that easily. Hindi main translate karke pado and samjho!

None of these singers would have been great without the lyrics. Actual music is mastery over rhythm not dependent on lyrics. I consider them good "playback" singers but not great singers. True singers are those who have explored rhythm to the fullest possible range with whatever tool they have got including the "tool" of human voice.

I’m an avid listener of Asha Bhosle, KS Chitra, Alka Yagnik, and Shreya Ghoshal. However, NOBODY, I repeat, NOBODY should compare Lata Mangeshkar to any other singer in the world. She is ABOVE EVERYONE. Moh. Rafi, Kishor Kumar, KJ Yesudas, SP Bala, S Janaki, P Susheela, KS Chitra and now Shreya Ghoshal… all of them are legends in Indian film music but Lata Mangeshkar is the ULTIMATE!!!!!

@@lakshmikrithika2521 and yes, she was a tyranny, even Rafi and Kishore used to fear. They had to give their most. Otherwise she would easily make the song her own solo. Like she did in many songs, like JO WADA KIYA, TERE BINA ZINDAGI, PARBAT KE US PAAR, RIMJHIM GIRE SAWAN and many more. Even in KABHI KABHI she totally overshadowed Mukesh, she even took his lines. And was fabulous 😍

ये ज़रूरी नहीं की जिसने ज़्यादा गीत गाये हैं वो कम गीत गाने वाले से अच्छा हो, ऐसी 50 गायिकाएं भी मिल कर एक लता मंगेशकर नहीं बन सकती, दुनियाँ की दो सबसे मधुर आवाज़ें हैं एक रफी साहब और दूसरी लता मंगेशकर, इन दोनों का किसी से कोई मुक़ाबला नहीं।
