Indonesia sebenarnya negara pengganti karena Vietnam tiba2 mengundurkan diri sebagai penyelanggara Asian games 2018. Indonesia hanya diberi waktu 18 bulan untuk mempersiapkan semuanya.. Mulai infrastruktur, akomodasi, broadcasting, upacara pembukaan dan penutupan dan sebagainya.. Anak2 sekolah yang menari tarian Ratoeh Jaroh berlatih selama 5 bulan dilakukan sepulang sekolah. Di acara penutupan Isyana bernyanyi lagu ciptaannya Asia's Who We are (Isyana masih dalam yang versi sangat manis belum sangar seperti sekarang😅)

Preparation for 2018 Asian Games in Indonesia was pretty short for this kind of massive event. Vietnam was initially elected as the original host for 2018 Asian Games,won the bid against other candidate nations including Indonesia,but withdrewed from the preparation altogether and decided to abandon the hosting right completely,due to financial issues,and it was like less than 3 year before the event!!!CRAZY!!!and the Asian Sport Fed decided to hand the right to Indonesia,and Indonesia took the chance,and built all the arenas,all the supporting infrastructure within that already time cruching period,JUST UNBELIEVEABLE!!!

The Chairman of the committee of this Opening Ceremony event is Mr. Wishnutama, as I remember. He is one of the greatest and talented person in Indonesia. He has a national TV Channel called TransTv. So, he is really has skill and capability in making a program or event. He ever said in one of the news interview how he requests the President riding a bike. I am as an Indonesian and when I watched this in tv a live, I also was in shock. How briliant this idea is. Mr. Joko Widodo, as President of Indonesia asked Mr Wishnutama to make a great event with Indonesia Culture and also 'different' with other country. And, Mr. Wishnutama said 'I am have different idea but crazy for you, but if you allow it'. After that, he tells the plan, the President directly agrees without any comment or further thinking, but all the aides of president reject this idea. 😂 Of course, they used a stuntmen then. But first of all the idea is genius. This idea shows that our president is so close and humble with the people of Indonesia, and that is the truth. Then, the girls! Yes, the girls dance in sitting position. The dance is called as Ratoh Jaroe dance from Aceh in Sumatra Island. The meaning of dance is about welcoming guests. All the girls are Senior High Schooler, and they practice it around 3-4 months everyday at 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., so technically they do not study or go to school. The school gives the appreciation about it and take it as state defense action or showing love to the country. So it is fine for not going to school for 3-4 months. LoL. The committee of the event opens a registration for this dancers. But, many of the girls are aborted because of tiredness and had mental break down. Of course, it is exhausted. They are really practicing it in the middle of soccer field, sitting on the ground in hours. But, the price that they get after this performance is precious of course. Everybody is so proud of them. Then if you are curious about the dress: there are kind of button in both shoulder. They wear a couple layer of fabric in different color based on the movement of dancing. So, when they must change the outfit color, the girls just ripe the fabric and make the chest cutting into their skirt. You can watch it here and there from the first line of the girls while dancing. The woman that holds the torch is Susi Susanti. She is the champion of badminton Olympic 1992 and World Cup 5times. She the first and the only Indonesian Woman that reaches the No.1 in the world of woman Badminton Tournament. The other crazy things about this event is Super Junior (SuJu), a K-pop Boyband, performances in the closing ceremony. They are been shocked because of the request and also shocked that they have a big fan in Indonesia. Noone on earth is considering a K-pop Boyband in a multi state ceremony event. 😅

This vid is pretty old (2018) almost six years ago but still magnificent 'til now. I know that many people in the world don't like politics. But to be honest, that man (our President) who acted at the beginning of the video is the only leader of our country who came from a carpenter and was able to become President, not from a political background. This man with his leadership brought a lot of progress to Indonesia from many aspects, to the emergence of new talents. Just almost in 10 years his leadership made Indonesia known to the world in various fields, from art, dance, food, music, economics, to tourist attractions to foreign tourists interesting & investing more time and money to make travel vlogs in Indonesia as digital nomad or just as traveller. But this man also very hated by a handful of groups who have been misled politically and by the propaganda of political opponents because he has brought progress in Indonesia which has had a negative impact on their parties and interests of their group to the point where world geopolitics has come into play trying to get rid of him. That's politics, white can become black and vice versa. But what is clear is that Indonesia's development and progress is on the right track. Moreover, Jakarta as the capital of Indonesia in the past 10 years has changed very significantly in a good direction. So don't be surprised that Jakarta sometimes surprises tourists from developed countries when they visit it with its improved public facilities and modern high-rise buildings.
