I've been realized and seen with my own two eyes that if you see a young teen girl get locked up for shoplifting it's a good chance her mama got locked up shoplifting too. In cases like that, you can try 50/50 custody. Both parents get equal access to the kid in their own homes. Weekend parenting is not enough for proper parenting. If the dad doesn't want 50/50, or is unstable, then maybe surround the child with positive male family members.
