The Sinking Of The M.S. Costa Concordia 

I'm Italian. Every summer, starting from like 2009, me and my parents always go to Isola del Giglio for our holidays, and we still do. It's a very peaceful and beautiful island, and the sea il gorgeous. We went all the years the Concordia was stuck in the port.. It was many years ago but I still remember it clearly, the water was so dark and dirty around her, and a giant rock stuck on her side. Year after year we have seen it taken away, slowly, sadly. She was the first thing you would see when you arrived and the last thing before leaving. She had the worst captain ever, he was drinking and partying instead of taking care of his ship and all the people on board. R.I.P. for all those poor souls.

Nowadays the Concordia is the symbolism of human error. Her captain abandons his ship without even staying on it... But now she’s scrapped and gone forever but her sister ships will remain from her class... May she be remembered

I despise the captain of the costa concordia, he abandoned ship when there was still a lot of people on board The man violated maritime law. I respect Captain Smith of the RMS Titanic a lot more because he went down with a ship that didn’t have enough lifeboats.

I sometimes see this in my head it was very sad when such a great cruise capsized

It must’ve been horrifying for crew on both the Britannic, Lusitania & Costa Concordia to think that they can’t lower half of the lifeboats because the ship is listing, and the davits won’t support it. If the Captain of the ship hadn’t gone so close to the island, and sacrificed so much for so little, it would still be here, sailing the ocean today.

R.I.P Concordia your never be forgotten! I will be deeply upset in 3 days time!

i can't imagine being in that position..where you can die so close to land, nor can i imagine watching such a giant ship sink so close to land..it's sad

Well at least they sinked close to an island- compared to the titanic who was in the middle of the Atlantic

The only good thing that the Captain did was allow the ship to drift into shallow water so it wouldn't fully sink. If the Concordia sank about a few miles from where it was, the entire vessel would have likely went under. But still, human error, miscommunication between the crew and the cowardice of the Captain for abandoning his passengers is the many factors in the sinking of the Costa Concordia. The conversation between the coast guard and the captain was recorded, showing that the captain refused to get back aboard the ship.

Why does the music sounds like Ezio's family's theme from assassin creed? But yes, sad for those lost souls especially the one traped in the elevator. Must have been horrible to wait for death like that.
