just for clarification , tsunamis dont get that huge in the middle of the sea , they only get huge when they approach the shore so this is a total work of fiction and the ship never existed the ship and the tsunami are just cgi made for a movie
the thing is that the wave came fast and about the time they could see the wave and use the lifeboats it was to late everyone was in the ball room and evacuation would take a long time
even if they used lifeboats the tsunami would've still sank them, and the poseidon was capsized and was flipped back up again, the lifeboats couldn't be used because the lifeboats were sinking under water, also you spelled Poseidon wrong
Water went inside of the ship, after that more water kept adding, since there were no holes water had no where to go, so water filled up the ship and because of the weight it sank.
