Hiking the Siq Trail in Wadi Mujib. It is not a typical hike. More canyoning and a swim challenge than a hike, but I will still call it my favourite hike of all time.

شكرا ريان انت مغامر مذهل ويبدو انك بذلت جهد كبير لتصوير المغامرة لكي تقدم للناس شئ جميل

These videos made it seem a lot easier than it was. Man this was hard. The current was so strong!

geekafreak it definitely was not easy. You spend a lot of time fighting the current. In a lot of places it wins and you go backwards. Lol.

Where did you put all your stuff and cellphone? Is there any luggage storage/locker at the main entry? Thanks!

They have lockers to use. I suppose you could also leave some less valuable items in the car as well.

Great video Ryan, we are visiting in May next year. Just wondering was it Ramadan when you were there and was everything open as normal ?
@a4oooo
@a4oooo 5 лет назад
S W it was during Ramadan while we visited. A lot of things change during Ramadan and you should do all you can to respect those observing. Most tourist areas are open but a lot of other business are affected by Ramadan. With Wadi Mujib, there are no guides during Ramadan. We went unguided. Adds a bit more challenge.

Awe inspiring, to say the least. :) It seems like so much fun! I'll be taking the Siq trail in October, and I wear contact lenses (short sighted). I'm scared that my contact lens will get washed off in these currents, need your advice please. Any tips or hacks for the trek? Also, can someone who is moderately built (not athletic, nor fat) be able to take the Siq trail? Awaiting to hear from you, Ryan!
@a4oooo
@a4oooo 6 лет назад
Nandhini Sathyamurthy Karine wire contact lenses during our trip without issue. You should be fine. We saw many people of all builds and levels of fitness doing the trek. There are guides available as well to assist. We didn’t have a guide and it was a bit harder.

@a4oooo

Guides are extra but would solve your concern very easily. The know the river and you won’t have to fumble around as much as we did.

 @Ryan Campbell @LaViajerita 87 , we didn't hire a guide for it, as you have no time limit for the trail you can go at any pace you wan't. When we came across a more difficult part you could just ask bystanders, or even guides from the group that happens to be there at the same time, they are so friendly, just like the rest of Jordan's hospitality.. Very cool experience, and the large rock facades and canyon gives a lot of shade and cooling, definitely try!!

Sounds like a wonderful place. Please, do you advise me to go with a guide ? And how much does it cost with the guide ? Thanks for sharing this beautiful experience
@a4oooo
@a4oooo 4 года назад
Amira Z a guide can be very helpful. The decision is up to you. I am not certain of the cost as I didn’t use a guide. You could inquire on their website for prices.

Great video, we will be visiting September of 2020. Did you rent you life vest and water shoes or did you bring your own?
@a4oooo
@a4oooo 4 года назад
Alfredo Ramirez the vests are supplied. We just wore running shoes. Water shoes would likely be easier overall but we were not hindered in running shoes at all.

Hi Ryan, I'm a weak swimmer but would you recommend this for someone like me? I have average fitness and strength. This looks like so much fun.
@a4oooo
@a4oooo 2 года назад
This was video was filmed after extreme high water levels. The water level is not normally this high. It had rained for several days and the site was shut down for several days due to high water levels. Most of the time, it would not be as deep as this. Best to check with the visitor centre to see what the water levels are like before you arrive.

Hi, Ryan, we thinking about to take this trail, but wondering how was the water temperature? Do people need termo clothes, or it is ok to go with basic?
@a4oooo
@a4oooo 5 лет назад
Eivina Lazickaitė The water temperature was quite comfortable. No need for special clothing. We wore pants and short sleeve shirts and had no problems.

Awesome video, very well made and looks like too much fun and adventurous. Can a person who don't know swimming do this trail with the help of ropes which are there on the sides.
@a4oooo
@a4oooo 4 года назад
Hina #bepositive thanks very much. There were several sections of the trail where you need to swim to get across to the other side. I am not suggesting you can or can’t do it, that is up to you, but there are sections of deep water and no ropes

Hoping to go in October 2022. This is part of the tour I'm looking at 😕 I'm bit worried as it looks like you need to be ultra fit, not 55, overweight and 4"10. I doubt I would have enough strength and the water would be well over my head 😵

This water level was not normal. They had a lot of rain days before this and actually closed the sites due to water level. It is usually much less. A guide would be recommended if you are not certain. They can definitely help you.

@a4oooo

We were there in the spring and there were a few days where the rains closed the trails for a few days due to high water levels. You also should be aware that guides (if you want to hire a guide) are not available during Ramadan.

Escapade With Juned this was a lot of rain for the site. Rains for several days before this closed the site due to unsafe water levels. I would not say this is the normal water level. You would be best to check with the park office to find out seasonal averages in October.

افضل وقت لزيارة السيق فصل الربيع حيث يكون مستوى الماء مرتفع ..أما اكتوبر تكون المياة عند أدنى مستويات لأنه يكون نهاية صيف حار وجاف
