Am I the only person who doesn't think Andrew Eldritch is an asshole? He just seems like an honest person answering questions honestly and talking about his resentments with management and the music industry.
Most people think he’s an asshole. That’s what’s cool about him. Saw SOM in the late 90s and he came out clad in white and started mocking the goth “sheep” in the first row. I remember thinking to myself “is this a Don Rickles show? I love it when artists mock their fans😎
From what I understand, The Sisters/Eldritch actually have a slew of new songs--some of which have made live debuts over the years--but they have no record contract and don't have the funds necessary to enter the studio and cut a record that does those songs justice Aren't frequent line-up changes also another huge obstacle? At this point, Andrew Eldritch is starting to look like the Axl Rose of (insert genre here), if not already.

Hahah exactly; The Sisters bi annual UK tour tops up Mr Eldritch's retirement fund and I think he's more than happy with that. A new album is never going to happen while those royalties & tour profits keep coming in. Can't blame the guy; groupies and all the perks a young band have are probably no longer attractive. Who wouldn't want to just chill out for 11 months of the year when they're in their 60s? AE has always been smart, and continues to be. Living legend
I have an uncle who was in a gothic band in Chicago about 25 years ago called Evil Flower. He actually got to hang out with Eldritch and co. once in those days. I was pretty envious.

That failed tour with Public Enemy really made him bitter. I used to read British music magazines and he went on about how he hated America for the longest time.
Why do you reckon he´s had it pretty hard in comparison to a lot of insufferable pillocks from the same era ( roughly ) who went on to have huge careers/personal fortunes with this nostalgia bullshit wave we are still under ?
32 years I've waited, so fucking excited for this new album, it's going to be so polished by now, I share the bands excitement for it, yes Andrew, coming this autumn, bang it out, nothing can stop us. Also, calling out racism in 1991... not what it is today, racism was an option, like wearing a dog chain or choosing between Pernod or 20/20.
One of my favourite bands, but we don't hear much about him here anymore. (in South Africa) But I am really curious... does anyone know if he ever cleaned up, or is he still using meth?
