The Site of The Treaty of Dancing Rabbit Creek 

Treaty of Dancing Rabbit Creek site, is where the signing of the Treaty on the homesite of Hartwell Hardaway on September 27th, 1830. The Treaty was to force the Choctaws to remove from their homelands of Mississippi to the new Indian Territory, west of the Mississippi River. Over 20 to 25,00 Choctaws were removed, but only over 10,000 Choctaws survived. Today, new Indian Territory is called, Oklahoma!
