There is a video of Nicola making her recipe in the Doctor Who cookbook, which is a cheesecake, with Colin. But she changed the recipe for him because Colin Baker is allergic to cheese and instead called it “Doctor Please Cake.” It’s so sweet!

Colin Baker is good as well.

That scene from Mysterious Planet is one of my favourites because by the time of Trial, they really were so close and affectionate with one another. Michael Grade really is public enemy number one for Doctor Who fans 😔

Where I do agree about Michael Grade being a bit of a [insert swear word here], if I remember correctly, Colin Baker’s era was doomed to fail from the get go due to a disagreement in the writing department. One of the head writers at the time was vehemently opposed to Baker taking up the role of the Doctor due to him being mostly type casted as the villain before his tenure began. Honestly I think it’s a great shame because his growth as a character could have been great to bare witness to but sadly it was not meant to be (only other Doctor I feel was given a hand this bad but for different reasons is Capaldi)

A man who dresses like that is not afraid of anything. Even risking his life to keep his TARDIS out of the hands of Cybermen. With the TARDIS literally having a consciousness of her own, I'm surprised that it didn't choose the cat pins he wears as a pet name.

I can see that! Most - if not all - companions who travel with two incarnations of the Doctor tend to become closer to their second (4/Sarah, 5/Tegan/Nyssa/Adric, 6/Peri, 7/Mel, 10/Rose, 12/Clara)

Although Seven and Mel have some heartfelt moments in Time and the Rani, the show didn't really do much with Mel's character (luckily Big Finish did). Hopefully she gets more character development on Series 14. For Seven, Ace was his true companion, like Ten with Donna. Honestly, Rose was Nine's companion. Kinda fell out when she was with Ten.

I can see it, Grumpy Doctor that’s more anti-hero and less sociable with a young plucky companion that’s more empathetic and morally inclined

@@MatthewCYN15 Fell out when she was with 10? They had the only Doctor/Companion paring actually become a thing in all of Who as far as I know. Yes, the other 10 was a mortal clone, but still had the same memories and characteristics and such. Of all the companions that have fallen for the Doctor, only Rose gets to ride away into the sunset with one. I was actually pretty indifferent towards Rose, so I'm not a shipper, but I think it isn't really fair to say that 10 and Rose "fell out'.

It was JNT’s idea to appeal to US audiences but of course, still a British show so a British actress portrayed her 😂

Funny about that side note, Peter Davison joked that his regeneration performance was overshadowed by Nicola's cleavage.

As an American kid in the 80's, I saw this at 12 and had absolutely no idea who he was talking about, or if I even heard the name correctly. I forgot it. It's Oct 2023, and after watching this video ten minutes ago, I FINALLY looked up the script to TWIN DILEMA, found the exact name he is saying, and Googled who the hell "Bode Rummell" (as I always heard it) / Beau Brummell actually is! LOL!!

Maybe she was an amateur anglophile? My wife is obsessed with British history, whereas I'm more into the ancient periods (Greek, Sumerian, Egypt, etc).

It is weird. I found s22 quite watchable. I think the criticism is all valid, but I think it had some good points which are overlooked.

@@abandonedfragmentofhope5415 I didn't see Peri's introduction until after I'd seen a few episodes with her and I was certainly surprised to find out she was supposed to be an American. Even Dexter Fletcher did a better job in Press Gang.
