I hate how often people complain about that, if you dont like it then go on a look for others interviews, where the style may be different, but in every channel or series theres always a shot of the artist so it isnt so bland and repetitive it gives some dynamism to the video; see proko’s or others that do virtually the same

honestly i got bored of the complex Kim Jung Gi after a while, i like his simpler stuff, not only his but generally, maybe the giant busy drawings are good for the esports gamers who pass by and see like a cool detailed drawing, but i strive for representing something realistically in as few lines as possible
@atilab99draws58
@atilab99draws58 4 года назад
@E A probably, though my drawing is mostly inspired by Kopinski i love the style of, if you'd imagine you apply a posterization filter so that you're left with a couple shadow shapes that look realistic
@SubNorm4L
@SubNorm4L 4 года назад
@E A Many old masters go over their lines, it's not something bad. Look at alphonse mucha drawings for instance or even Steve Huston. Damn, even Raphael and Da Vinci went over their lines and a whole lot of other painters like Sargent or Zorn, you can see it in their drawings. The thought of "less lines = good" it's flawed, it just makes the drawing stiff and lifeless because they're so scared of messing up. I wouldn't say that Jung Gi technique is flawless, he covers his mistakes all the time and mess up perspectives. Is that bad? not at all, he's good at what he does and his followers likes it... but he's not flawless. Nobody is.

I like some of the Simpler stuff to You should trade checking out some of Frank frezeta rough works or his sketches Enjoy as simple but how complex some of them are at the same time it’s weird

God this is by far one of my favourite episodess, along with Scott Eaton's because in these episodes we can understand really well what the sketchbook means to them and why they use it, which to me is far more interesting than what is on the sketchbooks themselves

@pinkkrystalz7610
@pinkkrystalz7610 4 года назад
I put dates in my sketchbook because I've looked back at my drawings when I was a child and for the most part it was hard for me to pinpoint exactly not just what I was drawing, but also why I was drawing something. Personally I find that it helps me not just organize my old artwork in a chronological order, but it helps me give context to what were my intentions as well as who I was during that point. It's also interesting see a shift of how my art style has evolved overtime. Not to mention that your memory will deteriorate overtime, so your not going to remember everything.
@elgriego331
@elgriego331 3 года назад
I know it’s a artistic style but why do you have to zoom in so close to the artists face? It’s annoying.
@slowdadox4762
@slowdadox4762 Месяц назад
Because it makes it personal. You absorb details of a person that u can only pick up in you get a chance to be that close . It’s not just about what they’re drawing.
