I still maintain that it was a dumb and tone-deaf decision for Seiko to discontinue the SKX line. The Seiko 5 series simply isn't the same and is a hollow shell compared to its predecessor. Glad you have filled this void in the market with logical and sound business decisions and good products.

Black hands and markers - Chef's Kiss! My 011 drove me nuts with gold framed hands and markers, it really decreased visibility and contrast. Islander is a better timepiece in EVERY aspect. As always, amazing job!

I absolutely love the light blue Northport. I have been wearing it nearly everyday since early June.

While I do appreciate a day/date, these dials are clean and symmetrical. I wouldn't have mind if the seconds hand had been changed to something other than a lollipop. I've got my eye in that orange dial version. Love it when new or updated Islanders are released.

Dagnamit! ...more Islanders to go on my wishlist... Particularly the orange one, but they all look great. Definitely in agreement on the black outline hands... was just looking at the Skx011 and the gold hands just don't work, to my eye at least, especially given the black outlined indices.

The date at the 6 is great. I wish more watch makers would do that. Makes the dial much more symmetrical.

Very happy my recent BRAC purchase included the screwdriver, a welcome surprise. When adjusting the bracelet on another brand the same day, I had to dig out my set because the LIW screwdriver was too large for the other brand's bracelet. It's the little things that enhance the buying and ownership experience, and Marc we DO notice. Many thanks!

Mark, please start looking into tool-less adjustable clasps. Look at the San Martin subbies. I have two of them, and they are the best clasps I've ever used as heat and humidity keeps me moving the adjustment up and down all the time.

My yellow islander is the most worn watch for me for the past two years. It is gorgeous and I get more comments and compliments on it than my more expensive stuff.

Wow, these look fully refined now and including a free driver is a classy touch. My only critique would be maybe the "Islander" branding on the clasp could be a bit smaller. I'm also digging that white 38mm flieger with the contrast stitch leather strap.

I have this islander skx from last year it’s nice and solid but boy, the crown guards are really sharp..you can feel it scraping your skin every time you turn the crown..

I should point out, the screwdrivers Long Island Watch gives out are of decent quality too. It's not going to immediately fall apart like those "dollar store type" micro-screwdrivers. (It will be handy for other stuff too like eyeglasses.)

Marc, I hope you will reissue the beautiful maroon 39-mm Fliegers you had a while back.

I got my first Seiko in 1985, and the shape of the case was more like the turtle shape, comparable to the willard, and over time it seemed the newer seiko's had smaller cases, was the watch I got an SKX?

Just got the new “bright yellow” dial Isl 08. My dial is not bright yellow, it has more of a pale gold/yellow color. Which is fine with me. One thing which was different on the bracelet of this one: I normally take 2 links off one side of the bracelet and 1 link off the other side. Only needed to take one link off of each side with this one.

I bought my Seiko skx from long Island watch the same day I bout my Casio f91w from long Island watch. Islander wasn't even a twinkle in your eye back then.

Short of the Northport, this is my favorite Islander model. Thank you for ditching the day complication and moving the date complication to the '6' position on the dial (where it belongs IMO). Just wish you'd ditch the Islander text on the dial and go exclusively with your logo. But then again, I'm a minimalist. Since I have no yellow dial watches in my watch box, I think a yellow dial version of this one is in my future.

Hopefully the 38mm versions are coming soon...😊

I really wish you would do a COSC version with on the fly adjustment adjustment. I understand it may be a few bucks more, but really worth it. Oh, and do a GMT version, that would be killer.

I bought a jubilee bracelet for my Orient Kamasu recently and it's true, it does come with an Islander branded screwdriver! I actually almost tossed out the screwdriver because it was stuck at the bottom of the envelope and I almost missed it haha.

As a former Australian Navy Diver, I used to own a Seiko Quartz that I purchased in Singapore and the lume was brilliant. I loved the style, it was be most useful watch on operational missions, but it is no longer in production, they moved to the SKX style mechanical movement which was deliberately left less accurate as a means of distinguishing and enticing purchase of the more expensive Seiko watches. with mechanical movements that are even tighter in terms of accuracy. I would not have been happy to have a mechanical watch in the Navy due to the loss/gain of time and additional maintenance that a quartz does not suffer. I only like the black dive version for old times sake but lume is a deal breaker for me, due to the amount of night diving I still do. The yellow and orange Islander are great but not my colour. However the black is but lacks lume on the bezel. If Islander ever decide to put a lume bezel on the black Islander dive watch, I would definitely consider purchasing one.

Wonderful however the lume dot on the wrong end of the second hand is a Seiko design element I think you should change. That's the only weak point I see.

All are lovely. I just chose the black one (I really like that the bezel isn't lumed, easier to read at 3am), but that yellow one is calling my name hard!

On the flieger, you should do it with loomed date wheel since ur going to offer with full loomed dial.

4:38 I was very impressed that the Islander Southold had the included screw driver to size the bracelet. I wasn't so impressed with needing to break out my Island Watch purchased tool kit to use the pin press tool to adjust the clasp micro adjustment.

I always thought one of the coolest things about Islander is that despite being a smaller brand you consistently prove how much the bigger budget-minded brands like Seiko actually cut corners on their more affordable watches. For not much more money Islander can get you basically the same watches but with far better features in sapphire crystals, screw down crowns, better bracelets, sometimes even better quality control as I've never heard of an Islander arriving with misaligned indexes. Even when you step up to a brand like Hamilton, Islander has some models that are direct equivalents to watches in Hamilton's line up that are half the price, and even when you're paying that huge markup Hamilton often doesn't give you screw down crowns, many times they don't even give you AR coating on the crystals, and their lume isn't even very good. Thank you for challenging the watch market and bringing normal people nice daily wear automatic watches. I'm still holding out hope for a sweet Daydate alternative.
