Being an anime only, this is one of the few times I audibly gasped for anything and I was relieved when Mikey turned out to be a cool dude.

Their relationship is so wholesome - with how Hina protecting him gives Takemichi the strength to protect her in turn.

The fact he messed up his life that badly that he had to go to the past to remember just how great of a woman she was. He left her high and dry without a word.

That's the best part about Mikey and Draken. They may be punks and kinda thuggish. But they aren't rotten deep down yet. They still sorta have a moral code.

When I first saw this scene, I was struck by its realism. The tension that Takemichi feels when he's dragged in spite of himself by two dangerous delinquents of whom he knows almost nothing is well conveyed. Hinata deserves all the love for defending her boyfriend like that, knowing full well the danger. For some reason, it reminds me of that scene in _SnK_ season 3 where Historia hits Livai, even though the context is not the same. Hinata seems to be a well-written character.

I love that she's shaking after doing that. I think that's how people normally feel after some "heroic act" or when their protection instinct kicks in. It's not like they are straight up badass and go for it like nothing, it's completely normal to be scared in these situations; just like Chifuyu said once: people is scared of fighting. Really loved the reality of this.

Honestly though if I was in Mikey's place, I wouldn't hit her either. Not because she's a girl, but because it's understandable why she'd hit someone if she suspects them of messing with someone she loves. She's protectng him, and it's understandable why, so there's no point in attacking her for it. Hinata is a great character. I just remembered I'm a Takemichi kinnie lol
