Hello from germany :) i visited the States with my Dad 2009. we rent a Harley in L.A. and made a roadtrip for 3 Weeks. We drove over exactly this street. At this time they build a big bridge next to the hoover dam. Nice reminding for me. thank you :)
I'd go down it, if you let me design the vessel. If you need a character reference, just ask my ex-girlfriends and maybe a couple of your ex-girlfriends. Thryll say the same thing. "He's very professional when it comes to going down." 😊
@@truthhurtsdontit yeah instead of a hit to the ground you just keep scraping against the cement until you’re nothing but meat and bone. I don’t feel like thats any better.
@@mx1593water pressure in a tunnel? You make no sense. Lake Mead is not deep enough to have crushing water pressure. That is found in the depths of the ocean. Why again would a tunnel have crushing water pressure?
That spillway is very unsettling to see. It was awesome when the lake was overflowing into the spillway in 1983. The noise the water was making and the mist it was generating was amazing.
The Hoover Dam is an absolute marvel of engineering. Not only did they have to build all this, but they had to divert the river while they were building it.
From PBS “There is enough concrete in Hoover Dam (4.5 million cubic yards) to build a two-lane road from Seattle, Washington, to Miami, Florida, or a four-foot-wide sidewalk around the Earth at the Equator.”
It looks like that nightmare of a short film about people waking up laying on the slope of a dam like that, just slowly sliding down as they freak out and try to climb back up.
@@nickmuffin1722 Fallout New Vegas reference. Struggle between NCR and Caeser Legion to control Hoover Dam. And NCR troops sometimes say this: "Patrolling the Mojave almost makes you wish for a nuclear winter".
Thats a nightmare, imagine having goofy friends play around then push you down that slide, where you can't grip on anything. You just slide into a huge dark hole and fall for some time berfore landing in deep rushing water to your death. 💀
@@SamanthaCrane I know what u mean! I lucid dream about every night and sometimes it’s so real I tell myself in the dream it’s not a dream,or I wake up and think about the crazy ones and tell myself how crazy it was😆
@@stormhound1973 There are exercises and techniques to lucid dream more often, just google them. Here's a quickstart guide: 1- Set your alarm about 1 hour earlier than normal. When you get waken up, go back to bed, this 2nd sleep will be much lighter and more dream filled. 2- Pick up a reality check habit. For example, look at yourself in a mirror at the top of every hour. This habit will carry over when you're sleeping, and when you see that your reflection in the mirror looks weird, you're probably dreaming. Stay calm, try to take control of the dream without waking up.
i took a tour there about 12 years ago and the tour guide told us they had someone who jumped off the tour bus into that tunnel. Never to be seen again!
This is the overflow drain. Made in case there was too much water so that the excess water would go down through that hole into the Colorado River. Below. I was born and raised in Vegas and actually saw it put to use when the dam overflowed in 1983. They're actually are several videos here on RU-vid showing it.
Newscaster: "BREAKING: Some places in industrial infrastructure are not suitable for most humans to enter under normal circumstances. See also elevator shafts, rafters of event centers and statiums" *the entire Internet: "OMG, so creepy!"
Can't really see it from the video but there's an anchor for a rope at the beginning of the tunnel part. On this site, look up the curve. This is what night mares are made of.
