I made this video back in 2018, for my 10 year anniversary on RU-vid, which was due on October 2020. However, this video was somewhat got connected to my Ukraine videos that I shot in 2019, and couldn't complete until 2022. So, here it is, after all this time.
I had, and still do a lot of unused footage in my hard drives. Instead of throwing them away, I thought, what if, I go through them, and try to find a pattern in the chaos, and make a non-fiction film that way. It turns out, I have so many footage that this video would have been the first part of a ten part series or something. As I kept saying that last 10 years (12 years as of posting this video) have felt like a hundred years. The sheer magnitude of it, the madness of it, I wanted to share that through my footages, taking inspiration from filmmakers like Chris Marker and Werner Herzog.
Their inspiration still has hold on me but after such a time jump from 2020 to 2022, I have changed my approach. I do wanna share the madness, I do wanna share my journey, but not through unused footages only. They will certainly come handy whenever they may.
Here I go. Chapter 03 of my life begins now.
Thank you.

This is so stunning. I was taken by the sound even more than the images.

Thanks a lot. Images were shot without much thought. But soundscape was created to make sense of the images. Do read the description if you like.

@@imdiyu I did read the description. Somehow the whole thing put together made sense to me, even though I can't explain it. I'm curious, are you a sound designer?

I am not a sound designer in a technical sense because I lack technical knowledge. But, you can say I can think in terms of sound. It would be fun to work with a real sound designer. I am kind of a hopeless romantic when it comes to film sound, even the role of acoustics in our day-to-day lives too.

@@imdiyu The sound here is hypnotic. The shot of the Baoli with the pigeons (how did you design the flapping sounds) flying around made me feel like I'm thinking back on a personal memory. I've never been to Delhi.

The baoli pigeon wing flapping sounds are a mixture of what I found on internet, in free sound sources. But, I also tried to record some with the pigeons at home, also I tried to do a little bit of Foley too. But, at the end, I don't remember what I did. Could be a mixture of all.
