Regardless of whether or not it’s a skill issue to not be able to adjust to the aiming bug, it’s a competitive disadvantage in a close range fight if you’re against any other gunboat who doesn’t have to change the way they shoot

This ship looks great. I love DD s with radar! GG. I am still working on the ostergotland. I will probably save this one for almost last (Adriático), to give them some time to fix the bud. If they don't by thenell, i m used to do some manual aiming anyway.

I keep flipping between commanders for this ship. Wonderful torps with Stig, but to make the most of them, you have to lose twist and track and also have a camo rating high enough you're almost certainly going to be spotted first. Nice problem to have though, it's a great ship.

It shouldn't be called auto aim, it's just target lock, the auto "aim" aspect of it is just the game putting your reticle near the locked ship so that you yourself can quickly aim your guns to the optimal angle and distance, people who don't move their reticle at all with this are absolute idiots

Xarkun I think you’ve missed the entire problem with this aim bug I use it as a reference for the speed of an enemy Dd if they are speeding up/slowing down and I constantly re - adjust every salvo & I’ve grown a habit of doing this even in the Friesland, when it teleports a whole DDs ship length ahead of the actual target it completely throws you off & lastly auto aim affects your dispersion free aiming while not being locked on makes no sense

Should WG nerf Småland also, Xarkun? I still remember your insistent nerf claims on Kleber while shamefully exploiting GAO yourself. Småland is a strong ship yes but far from over powered.

If you can stand it, run helfrich fully packed.

Great video (as always). Curious though, why do you americans pronounce "Östergötland" as "Oyster..."? There's no "Y" in the name. 😅 Why not just simply "Oster.."? 🙃

Apparently Xarkun has embraced his snobbery once again by shunning the Leone in favor of this Smaland...or as I call it...THE floating garbage barge of bloated, bubbling buffoonery. One would have better luck using a #2 pencil, but that's just me... I'll probably get it.

Tbh it doesn’t gain enough for me to weigh it over osta where I can absolutely wreck tier 6 match ups same can’t be said even if you get a full tier 7 match

Personally I use the dewey cpt to get 3 of everything and ya don't realy loose that much

Greatly enjoying Ostergotland while working on the ship XP to get Smaland. I use the same gun commander build I use on friesland. I disagree about gun range: I like the gun range short on all DD without smoke and stay away from enemy light cruisers and secondary BB especially. AVoids remaining spotted while fighting enemy DD that do deploy smoke. The radar on smaland will come in handy like on black: enemy DD outspot me but then I hit the radar and boom, I can play out all the DPM and HP I have because I don't build into concealment. Meanwhile these encounters happen at a bit longer range ~7km where it's easier for me to dodge their torps and sluggish shells and avoid sonar.

My favourite ship is the osta, this catches a lot more shells because of its size. I also see very few good osta players so I imagine this ship will have the same issue. The aiming and dispersion bug isn’t really a skill issue. The game activity fights you putting shells on target - if you are someone who zooms out to check your surroundings during dog fights rather than tunnel vision the bug punishes you. The so called auto aim feature is less about putting shots on target and more about being centred to a useful place from where you can adjust your shot from to then hit the target. (Some people clearly over use it)

Smaland is added and is perhaps the best DD in the game. The Italians join the game basically dead in the water, you can’t cap points with them unless you have support from another DD. You can’t win knife fights if you’re against a gunboat and you get cucked by sonar and radar harder than other DD’s. Can’t even torp targets very well, my dead nan is faster and does more damage with her handbag. Fantastic

This game is going in the wrong direction... Every ship seems to get radar and torps now a day's. Gearing it to be nothing but cruisers out there soon.

Right now, Smaland has a serious auto-aim bug. The WG is working on a fix, so it's not a good idea to play Smallland right now.
