Love your video and the editing...yes a great campsite, accommodating and toilets are great.....Caution the river can rise in tides. We camped there a long time ago and it was defiantly one of the best. recommended...Thanx for the video....thumbs up .
Thanx for informative vids. Kindly give a more precise description of the access roads to the campsites ie. type of road surfaces (tar/graded gravel/ rutted/ corrugated) distance from main road to campsites for campers in normal cars.
Hi Shaheed, thanks for the comment we will help you as much as we can... from the tar road it's approximately 600m to the Torpedo campsite on a dirt road that is in a good condition (80% of the dirt road is in the video). A normal sedan vehicle will have no problem getting there, even with a trailer.
😀 It was an awesome site... If you know someone who is friends or family of the owners you can still go there, it's just not open to the public anymore
That unfortunately messes a stunning campsite up. I was livid, the owner did offer to compensate us for our losses though, but that doesn't solve the problem and makes it unpleasant.
I must add that we had other valuables lying around that were smaller and of more value and they didn't take that so they were either after food or alcohol (it was in the no sale of alcohol time) just be careful
Hi Willie, "Torpedo" is ongelukkig nie meer oop aan die publiek nie (net familie en vriende van die eienaar) maar hulle het nie troeteldiere toegelaat toe ons daar gekamp het nie. Ons is bly jy geniet die videos!
Hi Debbie, the owners now only allows family, friends and people that have camped there before to camp at Torpedo. You can always try though... the number we have is +27 82 297 5065. I know from when we camped there the owner only takes Whatsapp messages on that number and is extremely slow to respond (we waited a week and by then we had already booked somewhere else). We hope you get a chance to camp there, it's really an awesome site. Best of luck and let us know if you managed to get a spot.
