The question around here is always: where can you find a parking place for it? You can live in a small house, a somewhat larger house than this, but no one will let you put it anywhere. Zoning won't let you live in it even if you can buy the land or the camping spot. They will drive you away.
There are scores of places in the USA were you can go tiny LEGALLY. Just look for communities with populations of 1,000 people or less and communities with "no zoning" or code enforcement.
It’s all a perception thing, if you are just “passing through” or staying with someone who you trust, or trusts you, you are fine. Of course, if the crops fail, the neighbors will cry, witch! Seriously though, this is an idea, to get you thinking about first, what you really need, second, how you live in the world around you, and third, how simplicity can give us credit to live our lives, or give way to complexity, unneeded or aesthetic, to distract you from what is really important. I always dream of living my life like the Hallmark cards inspire us to do, as we put them on the credit card.
Six years after I first discovered this, I still want to be Phillipides, living in the barrel. The world is ridiculous, and everyone talks like they are living in their Hallmark card while they are simultaneously doing everything against their happiness and what builds it, and talking about how life is short and YOLO, while burying themselves in debt. I’m one of them, so I can speak freely. I still dream to this day of living in this full time, if nothing else, for like a Walden experience.
This is a soft and breezy talk, It was not intended to cover an abstract matter but a familiar topic which we all will face and , sometimes, take lightly. Despite a bit shyness, his performance was good and the last question is really intriguing: it is not "how big the home must be" but "how creative we are ?".
This guy should first live in his "wonderful" house for a year or two. Then we can talk. I don't see any advantage of this house over any RV or even bigger tent. It lacks connection to electricity and water. It has no storage space. It lacks in privacy. I saw more ambitious and real designs of micro houses that used the basis of car trailer - so they were bigger than this, they were well designed with bathrooms, kitchens, bedrooms and working spaces and it was possible to relocate them.
I’ve messaged with this architect and designer, and you have to get that it’s a concept, to get you thinking. The idea is to see what little you can be with, and build up from there. Also, if you lived in a place with resources, this would be an ideal single shelter. He’s really a phenomenal design, that floors me and gets me thinking like the philosopher in the barrel over 6 years after I discovered it.
Tinny houses are amazing concept because we need to start respect nature and recreate more nature! Tinny houses should BE helped by the country. But like my country they dont alow to build that
@@enchainedtreasures He lives in Germany, but If this Talk would have been in Germany it would have been in German language. Germany is not an english speaking country. Statistics say that 60% of the Germans speak english not well enough to have a proper conversation... So the audience are probaly not germans.
Air cooled, but now a days, you could get a small BTU conditioner, and run it on rechargeable power. There are so many solutions, down to the Waka Waka solar charger I have.
