I owned one of the earlier ones, 699cc. Really loved it, went to France in it, no problems, handled very well. Don't they still have the inter-changeable car panels ? Swap your panels for a different colour + £250, no spraying.
I have Ben thinking of getting a smart for two for a few years now, but am still in a mixed mind about them as some say they are problematic and can be a pain to get parts for, also quite expensive for certain parts? This has put me off a little a it just goes against cheap to run/maintain etc.
I don't think parts are any more expensive than most other cars? labour costs could be a little higher though, as access to the engine is an issue, remember used parts are often a LOT better value than main dealer prices, and many breakers yards will hold pretty much any part you might need in stock 😁
That's the One thing I did forget to mention, the gear change is VERY delayed! it's almost as though it thinks about changing gear after your pull the paddle, then it actually does it :/ That's the only negative I found though in an otherwise great little car :)
@@richroadin Yes I did do a deal with the guy on his bike, simply as I have wanted that bike for Years, and it was too good a deal to pass up. I would 100% have another One of these little cars though :)
