I'm from Texas and played melee back in the day. I always tell this joke that seems to go way over the new gens heads. Whenever someone ask me how long I've been playing I respond with this " back in my day a Caveman used today be the best player in texas".
Why did people think Japanese were the prodigy gamers? In pretty much every competitive game (at least the strategy games), its the Koreans that are on top.
I think it was because its made from a Japanese Guy in Japan with Japan Characters. So many Japanse players would play this and start getting better with it and ye, also i think US Players (cause the internet was kinda new) didnt knew how good they were. Sorry for bad english im german bro^^
Lewis Yeah. The whole "Koreans are dominant" aspect of E-Sports is in computer gaming because it's so popular there. In Japan, computers generally aren't for gaming. It's about arcade and console more so than PC gaming. Therefore, Japan is pretty good at console E-Sports, particularly fighters.
