it's funny how some artists start great then fizzle out quickly or 'retire' young essentially. But rare ones like Radiohead, Tom Waits... having trouble thinking of examples atm but I know many others; they age like fine wine, just keep improving!!!
Thom and Jonny seemed to have made it their life’s mission to continuously and methodically give us all eargasms. I really appreciate their fortitude and resilience throughout the years. Thank you fellas. From the bottom of my heart ❤
I heard this song at the Wall of Eyes concert in Cologne, Germany, and I wondered, why haven't they released this amazing track yet? Thank you, Thom and The Smile!!!
2:47 is literally eargasm! This is perfect! P.s. the whole thing is fucking amazing! The dudes are unstoppable. Its a pleasure to live at the same time as them.
I'm not the killer Don't get me started I'm not the villain Choose someone else You don't get to Nothing is triggered Nothing is silent Don't pull me backwards No, you don't get to And your voice means nothing And your voice means nothing And your voice means nothing And your voice means nothing You don't get to Don't get me started You don't get me You don't get me You don't get me You don't get me You don't get me Don't get me... And your voice mеans nothing And your voice means nothing And your voice mеans nothing And you don't get me ----
That would make sense. I can extrapolate all kinds of political meaning from this but I could be totally off base too. Part of the beauty.@@gtimotijevic
He had a horrible infection that was so bad, he needed medical attention. Thankfully the band confirmed on there Twitter, Threads and Instagram that he was "Out of danger" but had to cancel the Europe tour in August. As of right now, he is making a good long recovery.
Hearing this live on their concert, the polyrhythm part playing WAY LOUDER and the massive drop and switch it takes midway was AMAZING. Nothing could prepare you for such a moment, one of the biggest highlights of the show. Love The Smile as much as Radiohead!
Thom has been a major source of entertainment and influence in my life for over 30 years now. I can't believe I'm middle-aged now omg. Radiohead / Smile is my Grateful Dead. My Pink Floyd. Mmmmm
@@jonsnow5518 average music "enjoyer" sitting there with his notepad and pen instead of just listening to it honestly just have a day off you sad little man
I like that it's called Don't Get Me Started, and the insistent riff always sounds like it's not quite starting, or like it keeps starting again. I wonder what synth they used?
Thom's catalogue of music he's created in his 50's, is better than 99% of career musicians' best work they've created in their 20's and 30's. And he's only halfway through his 50's. Him and Jonny are going to be like Aaron Copeland. They're going to be two dudes that are making extraordinary music in their 70's and 80's. It's genetically what they are.
They just feel so relaxed in this band. Not a care in the world, don't have to worry about "making it" nor living up to whatever is expected under the name Radiohead. They're just playing
This is the most beautiful music I've heard coming from this year. With sounds that reminds me of some stellar electronic records from the late 70s.- Marjet
this is what it feels like watching RU-vid at 3am while being sleep deprived killing time while the brain tries to shut itself off but you still hold on for whatever reason so you start experiencing weird sensory phenomenon like seeing things within the video or skipping through parts unnoticed and hearing sounds low and loud such in an ocean wave
Thom and Jony are the greatest living artists of any genre. They are more creative than the next 50 artists combined and they are still going down the rabbit hole 100 miles per hour.
me too, as it's a new song from the band, that I have personally NEVER HEARD before yet, and thus I'm excited to hear the (alleged) guitar riffs and cool drumming asap
@@myriamchalouin1631 yeah, downloaded vinyl RIP since day one. Still waiting for official drop I heard about Daniel cause he got one of my fav russian community dedicated to Yorke's projects on VK. :)
This is my favorite song off of Cutouts, followed closely by Instant Psalm. This one just has amazing Cold War / Espionage vibes. And Instant Psalm is just what we avoided by a hair, which is a Nuclear Fallout Era.
This song is brilliant, but the video adds another layer of artistic experience to the whole thing, and I would say is equally important as the song itself. I watch this almost every day.
Ok. This is amazing. I beg of you all to come to the states. Been such a fan of all of your art for so long Thom and Jonny. This will be the sound bite living in my ear for some time. My mind is ablaze. Must. See. Live. Wish I could afford to come out to the UK to see you all. Le' sigh. Keep making masterpieces.
Thom, i don´t know if you will read this comment anyways i want to thank you for all your work, i feel the abstract messages that you try to confess. Your work is done, your art expanded my consciousness, and anytime you create something i know that youre getting closer to the truth, thank you 👁.
