Morrisey and the Smiths in general hated the video apparently, and tried to stop it from being released. It was their label’s fabricated attempt at trying to reach the US audience and MTV in general - starting with their insistence that a successful vid needed a pretty girl etc.

Having social anxiety is chronic anxiety that interfers with living. If your anxiety doesnt stop you from going places/eating/working/talking to people, you just have regular old anxiety that anyone can get from time to time. Be thankful. Having generalized or social anxiety has made me live off of frosting for 2 weeks because i feared going to the grocery store alone. Generalized anxiety has given me panic attacks that have caused hand paralysis from hyperventilating and lose of consciousness with a trip to the ER, among many other issues. Huge difference because just being anxious and having an actual problem with anxiety that's classified as a chronic disorder.

Pay less attention to "Mass Media" in all it's forms and more to those around you that accept you. What is truly important will start to become more apparent. It IS ok to be around fewer people that are high quality, than be buried under false friends and unimportant possessions.
