Clemson is a town of like 10,000 people in rural South Carolina. FSU is Louisville with a good coach a decade earlier--i.e., a commuter school. Acting like they are superior to the Big 12 is absurd.

The Big Ten has no interest in these schools (they want UVA and UNC) and the SEC gains nothing by adding them.

The problem wasn’t the interview the problem is the clickbait titles on the podcasts and RU-vid videos. John Kurtz is complicit in this as well, I’m not sure if he still produces his own videos or resources it out to an agency or other person. But when you throw out a clickbait title for your video people run with it like wildfire and it spreads everywhere. Ross Dellenger wouldn’t have had to go on his Podcast to clarify his original interview if everyone that reported on it was at least more honest with their video and podcast titles. Unfortunately everyone needs the clicks and views.

Guys, confidentiality is a strategic advantage when negotiating a realignment deal. Hence, plausible deniability is necessary in order to maintain as many strategic advantages as possible. Whether FSU and/or Clemson is happening or not is yet to be determined. Sure, there is a lot of narrative that is happening out in the blogosphere about the potential for such a deal. My recommendation is that we all just wait for an announcement if any to happen. Then we can all be right together.

Let’s not forget when the B1G “said no” to UO and UW and then they were in the conference a year later. As cool as it would be to get them in the big 12, I still think FSU and clemson end up in the SEC

The SEC and Big 10 teams aren't going to take a pay cut to add FSU or Clemson. Notre Dame is a different story. I dont see those 2 conferences will add anyone until their media deals end in 2030
@raleighsanford5111
@raleighsanford5111 20 дней назад
@wvgolfnut1 You act like the SEC & Big 10 have a say in the matter. Fox/CBS/NBC and ESPN are calling the shots but there may very likely be unequal revenue sharing in the not too distant future, but the B1G and SEC will have 24 teams each in less than 10 years & the networks will control everything. Did you not see how ESPN moved UT & OU into the SEC to help get back their investment with more beer & soap ads? Or how about how ESPN put a SEC team in the playoffs over a more deserving ACC team because ESPN needs their schools to get visibility to sell more beer & soap ads? This is where we are.

Do you honestly think espn or fox wouldn't renegotiate with the sec or big 10
@shawnandrews329
@shawnandrews329 18 дней назад
It's not a pay cut. All the contracts have clauses for new contracts if schools join or leave.
@raleighsanford5111
@raleighsanford5111 18 дней назад
@@shawnandrews329 There is that and the fact the schools are not in control anymore, they will accept any school the networks tell them to accept.
@shawnandrews329

@raleighsanford5111 Their interest may align, but the conferences will do what's in their best interest regardless of what the media companies want.

It seems unless the SEC makes an announcement about taking on those 2 schools then it's anybody's guess. Not saying Florida state and Clemson are bad schools but let's look at history. Over the past 34 years the big 10 added 8 schools. They were all in the AAU when added. Every school in the big 10 is in the AAU minus Nebraska who fell out shortly after being admitted into the big 10. Seems to me that the big 12 is in play, Unless the SEC takes 2 schools where they already have a footprint, and they might, but that seems a little bit crazy to me
@shawnandrews329
@shawnandrews329 18 дней назад
You are 100% correct. I read where 11 of the B1G chancellors and presidents said they would not vote in a school that didn't have AAU accreditation. I think the media and athletic directors put the cart before the horse. AAU schools bring in more money than ALL of college football and college basketball combined. That is the lense the chancellors and presidents are looking through.

In discussing all the vehicle citations at Georgia, y'all failed to address the real issue: NIL is supplying these young kids with hopped up roadster sports cars.

The SEC doesn’t need anymore Big Boys in Football, the next 2 will Improve the SEC Basketball Profile.. if you’re not careful, you’ll Destroy your existing football programs.. just to add others .. I think our commissioner is smarter than that!
@raleighsanford5111
@raleighsanford5111 20 дней назад
@deantaylor6919 ESPN needs Big Boys in football in the SEC to sell more ad spots for beer and soap to recoup their major financial investment. The SEC didn't need UT or OU either, yet they said "Yes sir" when ESPN said they are coming. The SEC and B1G have no real say anymore, the networks are in control and it is now a professional sport.
@markraymond7667

As an SEC fan, this is where I am at as well. We already have enough football powerhouses and don't need anymore. Adding Clemson and FSU will simply further cannibalize the win/loss records of current members without adding any other significant upside for the conference. Clemson and FSU joining the SEC is only good for Clemson and FSU...it is NOT good for a majority of the current members. That's why I'm much more in favor of adding UNC and UVA to add new states without making the football schedule even harder. If we are going to add more for basketball, then round out the conference at 20 with Kansas and Duke joining with reduced shares until the next TV contract is negotiated.

We’ll see what the SEC needs versus what ESPN wants. With ESPN paying the bills, our commissioner and University presidents are smart enough to know the best way forward.

Life is short. Wasting time is foolish. Talking about two schools where a student applicant's ability to fog up a mirror generates an acceptances letter.

Define plenty. They didn’t vote to reject adding West Virginia and Central Florida, 2 schools with less appeal and in the same area(s) geographically.

No. You guys don’t come up with solutions on why it’s a bad idea? Heres one. There are several reasons why Texas & Oklahoma left the big 12. Don’t forget Texas was & is #1 as far as income money while they where in the big 12. If Texas & Oklahoma didn’t stay what make you think different & other schools will join? The schools that joined was only 4 pac 12 schools that didn’t have a tv deal & they were not stable enough to build on their own. That’s why they left. The 2 left behind will build the pac 12 back because they are stable enough to do so but didn’t bring enough to join the big 3 SEC,Big10,ACC. The last option will always be big 12. The big 12 only got those schools but for how long? The real % of the big 12 will come out soon. I’m just saying. You guys want the fall of other conferences but fail to see your own big12 might not last long. Your tv deal is only an extension of a tv deal.
