In this video, I show how I make my pine tar soap. Pine tar is a complicated ingredient. But it is such a great addition that I like to keep it on hand. I go into detail on how to make pine tar soap without ending up with soap on a stick.

This is brilliant. I just had the best success with pine tar using your technique with my own recipe. It came out beautifully. Thank you!!

What’s your recipe? I’m trying pine tar tomorrow. 3 soap batch ever.

@@rossydv I use mainly canola for the soft oils and coconut and lard for the hard oils. Canola traces pretty slowly. So does lard.

I just made a batch using your instructions and it stayed smooth and fluid throughout. I was worried having seen other videos of nearly-seized pine tar batter. I can’t wait to cut it. Thanks!

Yes true. I agree with you.🌷 It's there in my forthcoming list of soaps. But it may take time as I have to make many other soaps as planned already. Sure I will try this method only when I make. Thanks for the idea.

Recipe 13:03: Olive oil 40%, Coconut Oil 20%, Palm Oil 20%, Cocoa Butter 5%, Castor Oil 5%, superfat is 5%. 10% Pine Tar is used. Make sure nothing gets too hot. Heat the oils just enough for them to melt.

If you use a hand blender with pine tar you will have an instant brick that won't be pourable.

When I add my ingredients at the % you recommend on Soap Calc, all my numbers are the same EXCEPT the Saturated:unsaturated ratio on mine is 41:59 and yours is 36:64. How can it be different with the same oil % used?

I don't think pine tar would be the medium for those. But my hot process method would work.

Hi. Thank you for the amazing tips. Two questions. Does the batter reach a visible trace? It looks like it was very fluid. Second. I didn t see any mention about cleaning after pine tat as stated in the comments, neither did i find a video about the cutting. I am starting pine tar soaps next week :)
@ZAJANatural
@ZAJANatural 3 года назад
1. You can tell it is traced by dropping 2-3 drops of the batter on the surface. It is stays a bit, it is ready. 2. You just wash it with soap, it comes right out. The batter pot pretty much cleans with water. 3. Here is the cutting video: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-6-69FUZAeRs.html.

Guessing you need a disposable container for the oil/tar mix - left with a thick tar gloop - impossible to clean
@ZAJANatural

Hi! If mixed at a warm temperature the container will be practically oil/pine tar free and easily washed.
