Sodom has been found-and NEW discoveries from the dig mean powerful new revelations. Archeologist Carl Morgan tells us what he unearthed at the Tall-El-Hammam excavation. Amazing-and terrifying.
Gen 19:21 Lot flees to Zoar which is in the plain and is close enough to run to. By the Madaba mosaic map Zoar is on the southeastern shore of the northern basin of the Dead Sea. Lot made the journey between Gen 19:15 ' the coming of the dawn' and Gen 19:23 'the sun had risen over the land' so a 3-5 hours walk (9-15 miles). Tell El-Hammam is 35 miles away. An 11 hour walk.
@@imaginedreamingofficial3432 I stated a video on its location but there is conflicting information. It took 3-5 hours for Lot to go from Sodom to Zoar. The Madaba mosaic map puts Zoar at the southeast end of the northern basin of the Dead Sea. Ezekiel 16:46 Seems to say Sodom was south of Jerusalem. But, to confuse things the 4 kings approached the Dead Sea from the south going first to Kadesh Barnea and then to Hazezon Tamar which is thought to be along the western shore of the Dead Sea. The army of the 4 kings then leave the area via Dan which is on the western side of the Jordan. Then continue west of Damascus. The route makes no sense unless some information is incorrect.
Pretty boring stuff. He probably should have focused on the illustrations of how the city might have looked, some of the pottery and things they uncovered, and then focused the largest part of his presentation on the destruction. Only another scientist would be interested in the excavation process.
I’m sharing this with my pastor, Mark Lugg. I live in Anderson and would love to make a trip to Woodland to see the museum. This presentation left me so very hopeful! Donna~forgiven child of God
Okay. So I am puzzled. Ron Wyatt (I am not necessarily a fan of his, but pictures don't lie) and others have found sites in the Dead Sea region that have obviously been burned with sulphur and there are huge metropolitan areas, definable houses and places of worship, totally covered with ash. That seems to fit the Biblical description better.
The formations that Mr. Wyatt identified as buildings and city-like structures are natural formations formed by erosion, much like a 'badlands' (I have visited the location many times-Mr. Wyatt had a vivid imagination). I suggest reading "Discovering the City of Sodom" by Dr. Stephen Collins, whose excavations were covered and positively critiqued by BAR. I also suggest re-listening to Dr. Morgan's talk, where he discusses the reasons why the northern/Jordanian location is not only feasible, but the most probable. Blessings.
@@jay.mccarl I'm sorry. Perhaps I did not express myself well. Since you said the site Ron Wyatt and others call S & G is due to erosion, what I would like to see, please, is a link where one can see erosion of a city that is totally covered by ash and sulphur.
I saw a film on Sodom and Gomora, they did not show a map of the are but there is a location where they can still find sulphur people's. And even a pillar of salt they thought might be Lots wife. Eary.
Hello Linda-the pillar, christened "Lot's Wife" is around 20 feet tall and is one of many so-named natural formations south of the Dead Sea. Blessings.
Discovering the City of Sodom (Dr. Steven Collins,) The Destruction of Sodom (Phillip Silvia,) and The Harvest Handbook of Bible Lands (multiple authors.) He starts describing them at approximately the 53-minute mark.
